  • Could be 5 stars, but...
    by KLLB2 on December 19, 2020 at 6:29 am

Mostly love this app, but it would be great to be able to search by symptoms, not just herb names. Also, bookmarks function doesn’t work on iOS 14.

  • Great App!!!
by JM 5000 on May 29, 2020 at 3:34 am

Great App!!! Very good - I like having all the information in one place.

  • Very informative
by HSteilBlais on April 5, 2020 at 11:47 pm

This app is great and informative if you know what plant you are looking for. I wish you could put in what the problem is and then it’ll bring up all the plants that would be good in those situations. I would pay for something like that!

  • Add Bookmark crashes app
by jupitergeek on January 26, 2020 at 10:32 pm

Try to add any herb to bookmarks and entire app crashes. iOS 12.1.3 on iPhone SE.

  • Suggested remedies
by TheWaywardJouneyman on December 9, 2019 at 2:12 pm

Pretty good app. I appreciate that herbal remedies should not be used in place of medicines for any serious problems (an herbal tea instead of melatonin or indigestion medication is fine), but I love how you explain what chemicals are present in the plant are shown to help the various conditions under the right dosage and circumstances. Might I suggest including Plantago/Plantain as THE healing poultice for centuries; even being mentioned in some of Shakespeare’s works. Eating a bit of charcoal or wood ash can help with indigestion. (I’ve also heard that eating activated charcoal can help with detoxifying from barracuda poisoning, but I don’t know how accurate that is) Pouring a bit of melted wax on a bee sting or broken sea-urchin quill and allowing it to cool can help to safely remove them without further pushing them in or breaking them off.

Excellent app Please update and add more content. Add the ability to search by illness!

  • Spelling error
by Burr burr burr on March 6, 2019 at 3:47 pm

Creosate is spelled CREOSOTE, creosote bush. Larrea tridentata.

  • Cool app
    by clasicdude23 on February 15, 2019 at 10:13 pm

Would recommend but there is a very common plant missing, and that’s mint. I love mint and it was the first thing I looked for but it only has peppermint. Still a good app. Text is small as well.

  • Delete then download for newest v
    by rampitup84 on August 28, 2018 at 9:07 pm

I’m running competitive research of medicinal herb apps because I had an idea to develop an app as a side project. Then i find this gem! I’m moving forward with my project and taking the reviews here into consideration. Excited to find my initial idea to allow users to browse based on their main symptom and track a remedy that way is what the user wants. Also, my app won’t be backed by their fine medical institution but it will definitely have better UX (user experience). Best of luck to you on your search for herbal solutions!

  • Absolutely love!
by zaphyerdesi on August 23, 2018 at 1:38 pm

I LOVE this app! I wish they would keep updating the list of herbs and have options for font sizes.

  • Limited Database
    by Rhoyalty1922 on January 13, 2018 at 9:10 am

Could find info on oregano pills/oil or or other herbs. It’s not a comprehensive database

  • Great resource for info on alternative options
    by Bech3 on March 18, 2017 at 12:28 am

This app is easy to use, I really like that it has a professional and lay views. Streamlined, helpful, and concise. I only wish it had more on essential oils! Still, this is a really great resource for evidence based information on alternative options where the research is few and far between.

  • Great but crashes
by Rodrigobu on February 25, 2017 at 1:32 pm

Great app but is crashing on startup. iOS 10.2

  • Just opened, first search no results
    by Rainlily1979 on July 31, 2016 at 3:16 pm

Sweet mint is a common herb and no info. Not impressed so far. Will continue to browse

  • Invaluable Resource
by MerricMLH on July 10, 2016 at 3:30 pm

Provides Research-based Studies to Help Guide decision-making for BOTH professionals and consumers. Thank-you SK!❤️

  • It's good but..
    by Lord_Macdog on May 17, 2016 at 12:59 pm

I'd like for you guys to extend the search function. Instead of only being able to search by name, why not have it to where you can search by use too? Simply have a premade list of uses and when someone clicks on a use, it'll show the herbs that are used that way. Other then that, it's good.

  • Super!
    by RoadWarrior2004 on March 29, 2016 at 8:07 pm

I am a healthcare professional who absolutely refers to this app as an initial reference every time a decision has to be reached.

  • WTHeck happened to this app?!?!....
by MsKaitO on February 25, 2016 at 12:03 am

I used to LOVE this app! It worked flawlessly.. Updates were always good.. Info checked out so it was reliably useful on the go.. Now I can't even open it! 😩😢 It was opening for a while but would freeze and I couldn't use it. Then came another update and now it immediately crashes. It isn't my phone - this is the ONLY app I have any issues with. Users beware right now. PLEASE FIX THIS ASAP so I can use it again! 😖 VERY disappointed in the function after weeks of this nonsense.

  • Missing many Herbs
by Richard Wendrock on January 12, 2016 at 2:07 am

This app have many plants listed but does not list many common herbs, like Bee Balm, Dill, Society Garlic, Turke's cap, Fennel, and many others.

  • Very useful
by Too few nicknames left on January 10, 2016 at 2:32 am

Is an excellent app. Has excellent information. I would download it again. I use it frequently both of my professional and personal life

  • Handy app; needs font size options
    by LibertyT2G on November 23, 2015 at 1:11 pm

I use this periodically at work and home, and appreciate the detailed information. My only gripe is the very small text size, it looks like 7 or 8-point font. You can pinch and zoom, but then you have to move the screen around to read. After I updated iOS, this app would crash and close as soon as I opened it. I deleted it, then reinstalled it, and now the app works fine. Developer: please make either a 'medium' and 'large' font that justify to the screen width, or else a font size 'slider' adjustment like in the iphone text size options screen.

  • Latest update crashes 🙁
by InkyMyCat on September 27, 2015 at 4:17 pm

Update: I uninstalled the app like someone recommended and reinstalled and now the app works again :). No more crashes on opening the app. Its now back to 5 stars. This is a fantastic app with so much information

  • Update is crap
    by Momcat1369 on September 22, 2015 at 12:34 am

This app was great until this last update now it won't open at all crashes every time I try to open

  • Excellent information
by devth on September 14, 2015 at 7:01 pm

Needs to be reinstalled after last upgrade. Needs more herbs.

  • Uninstall first when upgrading
by MobiliT on September 14, 2015 at 5:31 pm

Still the same great app. Had to uninstall first then download again to upgrade. After that, has been working great. There are new herbs and updated information.

  • Comprehensive and medically accurate.
by Ceremuga on September 13, 2015 at 11:24 pm

This is what I consider the medical reference for herbal medicine. It uses medical and clinical studies in the summary and also advises about contradictions and adverse reactions. It has been a fantastic tool for using herbs medicinally .

  • About Plants

After update the ap crashes at opening. Now totally useless.

  • Loved it until latest upgrade
by Reuso on September 13, 2015 at 3:46 pm

Very informative, used all the time. Updated to latest version now it crashes on startup. Pls Fix

  • Keeps crashing after update
by Dester Wallaboo on September 13, 2015 at 3:59 am

Love this app but it now crashes instantly on startup after latest update.

  • Crashes upon opening
by Jar el on September 12, 2015 at 6:34 pm

This app was a good app for getting basic information on herbs. Just upgraded and now it crashes when I attempt to load it. Using an iPhone 5s with iOS 8.4.1.

  • Very informative and great information
by Redhtg on August 9, 2015 at 2:37 pm

This is a very good app for searching just about every herb you can think of. I really like that it gives very informative information on the herbs, their use, what studies have/ have not been done and what they can be potentially be used for. Really like this app and good job to the developers, keep up the good work! One comment though: if one could possibly search by problem or issue to find what's recommended rather than going through each one to see what can be used for what issue, other than that, great job! I still give it 5 stars because I love all the information it gives and it's a very clean and organized app.

  • Very informative app. Slight glitch
by AWynterS on January 16, 2015 at 12:39 am

I found this app very informative and abundant in information regarding many different herbs. There is a slight glitch in navigating from herbs back to the main menu. Overall great app!

  • Not for Herbalists
    by K48372j626b on July 19, 2014 at 6:41 pm

Too many disclaimers. According to this app most herbs are deadly and should not be used for any health issues. Do your own research to find that most herbs are safer than pharmaceutical drugs. Don't download this app.

  • Graphic presentation is shoddy
by Agidak on June 29, 2014 at 11:21 am

For such a site, the graphic presentation of the entries should be more carefully executed. Perhaps it would be a more cumbersome app to manage, but it should be an essential part of the information.

  • Crzydoc is right
by Muchtolearn on June 17, 2014 at 10:46 pm

Please make this available for landscape mode. I really like it but will probably delete it because it will not work in landscape mode. : (

  • Everything I could ever need
by Pslam 34 on April 24, 2014 at 4:56 am

    Extremely useful.

  • A blend of general and specific
by Jivasol on April 2, 2014 at 2:30 pm

I am very happy I came across this app! I've shared it with my classmates. Its a simple, quick tool I can reference to.

  • Once I hit 'Agree' it shuts off
by HeatherDavis on March 23, 2014 at 7:08 pm

  • Best herbal reference
by CaliPrepper on February 27, 2014 at 5:37 am

Fantastic app. Mentions herbal benefits, contraindications, warnings and notes. Definitely better than other aggregate references.

  • Great app
by crzydoc on February 26, 2014 at 9:08 pm

This is a great app and very informative especially for the physician, but there is one problem, make it available in landscape mode for my iPad. If you can work on that, I would be truly greatful and also give you the fifth star

  • Bad app!
by Piano student on January 18, 2014 at 3:28 am

The people who produced this app are clearly against natural medicine. If you believe in natural treatment don't even bother downloading it. I did not even want to give it one single star.

  • Lots of info, but needs improved search
by Playalust on January 7, 2014 at 5:26 am

I would like to be able to search by symptom, such as "nausea" and have a list of suggested herbs. Otherwise, very informational if you feel like browsing around or know a specific herb you'd like to research.

  • Very useful
    by CLSx2 on December 29, 2013 at 9:53 pm

Great info and nice variety. Would love if there was also vitamins and minerals, but even w/o i know i will be using often.

  • Little help
by kcwookie on May 13, 2013 at 2:54 pm

It provides great info on herbs and the like, but no context. You can't reference herbs by use and action. The only way you can look them up is by name.

  • Thank you thank you thank you
by popss on March 16, 2013 at 7:52 pm

I've been looking for an app like this for a long time. I work at a supplement store and although I've memorized an impressive amount of information, its impossible to thoroughly remember everything. This will be perfect to use as a reference on those few that I can't remember. You even included a lot of information about the studies done which is such an important aspect!

  • Just enough to get you into trouble
by more options needed on March 16, 2013 at 2:28 am

Only tells what herbs do does not give dosage recommendations how to prepare or administer

  • Excellent Reference
by SophiaS on February 18, 2013 at 1:17 pm

Don't be misled by the negative reviewer: This app comes from one of the most respected cancer treatment & research facilities in the world with an active Integrative Medicine Service. It is NOT written by a pharmaceutical company as a previous reviewer misleadingly stated. ALL of the information is scientifically evidence-based. It is an excellent resource for those with cancer seeking complementary therapies to minimize the side effects of chemotherapy or manage pain. And it's written for the consumer as well as professionals. And it's free!

  • Good Dictionary
by SavvyCatJones on December 28, 2012 at 2:19 am

Good for looking up stuff, but hardly encyclopedic. There are many plants and herbs missing that hopefully will be added in future releases.
