    by Gamabunts01 on June 21, 2022 at 5:22 am

I love being able to learn online and they offer so many programs and courses. But a couple of problems the app has the 1st one which is big for me the save notes does not work has not worked for months tried uninstalling and reinstalling I have tried a lot of things nothing. Then just recently the dialog and the video does not follow along like so when I stop to take notes nothing I have to scroll and keep reading the whole section. Video playback normal fixes it self but sometimes the audio sounds off.

  • No customer service
by UnsatisfiedPlusSubscriber on June 6, 2022 at 9:16 pm

I purchased their plus subscription last year and didn’t know it is on auto renewal. I tried to cancel as soon as I saw the transaction on my credit card but was not able to do that. Tried to contact their customer service but there are no number to reach to them. Created a case but no one is responding. It is almost like a scam. They didn’t notify about the auto renewal, sent an email about confirmation after they charged my credit card.

  • Subscription not recognized by Coursera
    by jenegg1234 on May 29, 2022 at 1:36 am

I have been subscribed to specialization course for 3 months without any problem. But today I got locked out of my assignments because coursera didn’t recognize my purchase and It’s telling me to pay again for the subscription even though I was billed just last week. This is really upsetting because I want finish my class soon and I don’t want to subscribe again until I know I can get a refund or a fix for this. 🙁

by Former Employee on May 25, 2022 at 8:58 pm

The service is great. There’s great courses for a lot of things to advance you personally and professionally. The app is the problem. It logs me out right in the middle of a course video. There’s zero cache with this app as i constantly have to re-login. Please fix this. The service is great as long as I’m not getting logged out.

  • Paid subscription, does not show in app
by Joooosssiiieee on May 25, 2022 at 6:12 pm

The first two months were fine, the payments are shown in the app and desktop version. My May 9, 2022 payment went through and I have a receipt, but it does not show in the app and I cannot continue my course. Support has not resolved the issue, so I have cancelled my subscription and I will go elsewhere. $117 for nothing.

  • Great experience but could be better with a Mac app
by Hadi Mz on May 22, 2022 at 3:44 pm

Coursera is a great learning platform and the app makes it hassle free, but it is a shame that they won’t release the ios app on the Mac store for M1 macs that can run them out of the box. The foundation is there and the experience on Mac would be great, the only thing missing is that the app isn’t released on the Mac app store. * tldr: please release this app for Mac

  • Apple Store Subscription Not Being Acknowledged
by Estrouse on May 20, 2022 at 10:26 am

Coursera is generally a great platform and app. I’ve used it on and off for a few years. They are getting two starts because of bad billing practices. Recently, as of May 2022, Coursera stopped recognizing my monthly subscription through the App Store and has stopped allowing me to make submissions on my course assignments and section tests. It’s stopped my ability to complete courses all together as a result. When I contacted Coursera, they said this is a software bug for ALL APPLE CUSTOMERS that their developers are trying to resolve. They then closed my help ticket and didn’t provide any resolution. I contacted them again two weeks later, and this time their customer service rep said to CANCEL MY APPLE SUBSCRIPTION, TO REQUEST A REFUND THROUGH APPLE, AND TO ENROLL THROUGH THEIR MONTHLY BILLING SYSTEM. Because I don’t want to lose my progress on this professional certification, I did exactly that. Cancelled my Apple subscription and enrolled in Coursera’s subscription. It makes me want to cancel my subscription with Coursera all together, though. This is highly suspect given the controversy of the Apple Stores 30% cut on all transactions processed through their store and developers pushing back on it. It comes off as Coursera intentionally breaking Apple users access to force their hand to enroll in Coursera’s billing system to recoup the 30% loss in revenue from the Apple store.

  • App is slow compared to website and signs out during lessons
by Gloriousturtle on May 13, 2022 at 8:33 pm

The app has much longer loading times than the website does, even on the same device, and has a consistent issue where I am signed out every few pages, and this sometimes impacts quizzes. I am enjoying the courses I am taking alongside college coursework, however the app is not up to the same quality as the website.

  • I <3 Coursera
by Live. Laugh. Love Music. on May 13, 2022 at 7:13 pm

Update: I’ve reduced the app to 2 stars from 5 until the developers fix this nagging issue I keep having. When I click on a search result, the app tells me something is not right and to try again in a few minutes. It’s aggravating. Also, Coursera advertises that you can do your courses on the go from within the app. However, there are many assignments that are not available through the app, and sometimes coding problems within quiz questions do not display properly, so I have to get out of the quiz on my app and open on the desktop to finish the quiz. Once these things are improved, I will give it 5 stars again. Original post: While this app still has room for improvement, I will give it 5 stars for the fact that the developers have made sure to keep this app up-to-date. There are new features added all the time and its usability just keeps getting better and better. I also am glad that on-demand courses are available. I love always having world-class learning material in the palm of my hand.

  • So Busted on IOS
    by Mm121347573827;$;73! on May 7, 2022 at 1:50 am

This app is so freaking busted on the IOS Platform that it made me want to go to the apple store and punt my Ipad Pro at the geniuses as if I was playing rugby, but I eventually realized nothing was wrong with my ipad but this app is just not optimized for the ios system. It lags, constant “error occurred messages”, can’t download whole modules, doesn’t track offline content back onto the online. It is just a piss poor experience all around on the ios. I recommend sticking to pc and android if you like this application.

  • Love it!
by TayaBo on May 4, 2022 at 10:00 pm

I have really come to love Coursera, and I have no complaints about the app so far. I am super happy that you can learn offline. I can watch my grad school lectures outside 🙂

  • Fascist organization
by lennoxru on April 30, 2022 at 8:12 pm

Coursera discriminates its clients based on nationality. Recently, coursera blocked access to all clients that have Russian nationality, millions of students lost access to education just because they happen to have some nationality. Nobody forced that decision on coursera, there was no gov sanctions obliging them to do that. Russians are just the first to suffer, then will likely come the Chinese, Brazilians, Mexicans, or any other nationalities/races that doesn’t conform to American hawkish geopolitics. It is unthinkable that this kind of disservice based on hate towards nationality can happen in the 21 century, so I advise everyone not just not to become a student on coursera, but boycott the platform if you are already its student.

  • Do not recommend
by elSenorPedro on April 29, 2022 at 7:26 pm

Will absolutely not use Coursera again after my experience with the “Foundations for Global Health Responders” course. The course materials and lectures are very outdated (8-9 years old), the grading system is seriously flawed (it forces students to beg “peers” to review assignments after sometimes months of waiting; classmates can be retaliatory if you give them a well-deserved mediocre grade, or they won’t read your assignments and give you the worst grade possible), and the customer support options are just window dressing. I’ve sent customer support emails, reviews of the course, Tweets and Twitter emails directly to Coursera, and flagged webpages within the course - none of which received ANY form of response. What’s especially maddening is how hard I worked in this course with nothing to show for it. It’s valuable time I can’t get back. Consider EdX instead. Charging users for a product with unqualified “peer” assessors, outdated course materials, and absolutely no Coursera oversight or ownership borders on fraud.

  • Doesn’t work on Apple M1
by Cup of bagels on April 28, 2022 at 10:26 pm

Please turn this feature on. Your website is garbage that takes too much tinkering with cookies and trackers, etc. that I can’t use it ever. This app works at least, so let us use it on Mac!

  • Good for on the go but the website is better
by LazySlacker on April 28, 2022 at 8:02 pm

I mainly use the app to catch up on my classes while at a coffee shop or on the go. If that’s all you do, then it’s perfect. It’s not ideal for submitting projects or replying to group discussions. Every time I try to submit an assignment or post, I get an error. So, I’ve given up on that. The best experience is on the computer.

  • Mobile is a scam
by Yesthanksalot on April 26, 2022 at 2:17 pm

Please be aware, Coursera customerservice has admitted that there is a known problem with the iPhone platform. You will not be able to complete any certifications or take any tests even when you pay for a membership. They will take your money and you will not be able to complete the courses.

  • Scam
    by Connor13$$$ on April 24, 2022 at 12:09 am

I took the course More Chinese for Beginners and there was no professor or instructor to contact or to ask for help, the course is beyond broken and I paid $50 for it. There are no active students in the discussion forums and there’s no way to directly contact the company either. I have to charge back the funds with my bank because of how shady they are acting.

by Wolkied on April 19, 2022 at 7:44 am

This is a free class with a certificate option for a small price. It is easy to enroll and straight forward in its presentation of the subject matter. Using a step by step approach, you are constantly build language acquisition skills. The teacher clearly introduces new skills in her presentation videos followed by reinforcing tests. This is great for beginners. They suggest planning 2 study sessions a week making this a no stress learning experience.

  • Decent App That Normally Works Well
    by Musashi1961 on April 14, 2022 at 6:11 pm

No major complaints from me. Everything seems to work fairly well, especially in the WiFi challenged environment I am studying in. That said, I do not understand why courses I’ve finished still appear as “In Progress” on the app? Not a deal-breaker or anything, as long as I don’t have to re-do any of the other work I have already done. Cheers!

  • Bring back app compatible Course tests
    by Bayev1 on April 14, 2022 at 2:29 pm

I love the app, but I feel like i can’t progress as much as i want to because I have to use my laptop to complete the course tests; but I’m always on the go. In my experience I’ve always finished courses faster when I was out and about but still had my phone to use and meet deadlines. Please bring back app compatible tests 🙏🏽

  • Useless - Assignments “Not Designed to Work on This Device”
by donelanp on April 13, 2022 at 2:39 am

This app is useless on my iPhone 13 mini running iOS 15.3.1. All of my assignments so far have said “Use a computer to complete this item. It is not designed to work on this device”, rendering me unable to watch the embedded YouTube videos on my mobile device. I would like to be able to use the app to watch the videos in settings where I do not have my laptop with me.

  • Charging $40/mth without permission
by TaraSammy on April 12, 2022 at 3:07 pm

I have been charged $40/mth and never taken a course, never received an email invoice or receipt of a charge and there is no information on my coursera profile that indicates a purchase, a subscription or a credit card on file. There is no way to cancel and no way to contact them. I have disputed with credit card but the charges have been going on for longer. The fact that I am not sent any monthly invoices or receipts for charges and my account shows no record is a SCAM. There is no way to contact anyone either so this is beyond ridiculous.

  • Disappointed new version doesn’t work well on phone apps
by poetrypal on April 5, 2022 at 5:47 pm

I’ve been using Coursera since 2017. Last year they changed the format and it’s made it difficult to use. Sometimes I can’t get to the page I want from an email notification. Often, my comment won’t load. The whole experience is more labor-intensive, which as a disabled person living with a debilitating chronic illness, I don’t have the strength it takes to navigate it. Computers are expensive. I’m frustrated and do not use Coursera much anymore. I’m looking at other online options and

  • Buggy app, horrrrrible support
by The Man with No Books on April 1, 2022 at 4:57 pm

I use many apps and streaming services and none of them have the issues that I have had with Coursera. Their support department is mind blowingly awful. They are nice. They insist that English is not a problem and claim to be personally physically located in Mountain View. Ok. But they almost never understand a question, and the replies are almost never an answer to the question but typically some automatic text that includes similar keywords but is of no help. But in contrast a couple times when I did get through to people who read and understood the inquiry, they answered the question with one reply. Anyway...The content is still not working. Wasted days and hours of Help is no help. Canceling...

  • Good service, mediocre app
    by osulls490 on April 1, 2022 at 6:37 am

While I like the courses on offer and I think the cost is fair, should you choose to do more than audit, the app could use some improvements and feature additions. Most notably for me would be the inclusion of Google Cast support. While this app supports AirPlay I find that Google Cast devices tend to be more ubiquitous than Apple TVs or the select smart TVs with AirPlay support. So I’m likelier to be able to cast the learning videos/exercises to those devices which aren’t currently supported.

  • Transaction w/o consent !!BE CAREFUL!!!
    by Deen671 on April 1, 2022 at 1:41 am

I give three stars because I actually learn something from Coursera..but they keep trying to take money out my account even though I just started my free 7day trial.. which is kinda suspicious because it says free for 7days and it tried taking money out on the first day I enrolled. Be careful.
