People reviews

Impression and review of people to iPhone App [Dvorak Keyboard Layout]!

  • Pretty good!
by RomanMat on June 26, 2022 at 12:01 pm

I’d say this keyboard works pretty great. My only qualms with it are a couple small glitches. Sometimes you open a text message and the letters are floating. Other times you cant see the last things said in a convo or what you are typing. Yet for $1 this app gives you a mostly functional dvorak keyboard!! Thanks for making this!! Not sure why apple didnt include it!!

  • IPhone does not recognize the keyboard
by Dev purkayastha on January 25, 2022 at 6:09 pm

I followed the instructions but I cannot install. Since it was only $0.99 I am not too upset.

  • The one I’ve been waiting for
by CSBorne on August 3, 2020 at 11:07 am

It’s the little things in life that drive you nuts. Take for example the standard iPhone keyboard space bar; it’s small and the period and @ keys are jammed right next door. The results lead me to constant typing errors. This app fixed the problem with a nice long space bar. The app has a nice clean feel to it. Highly recommended.

  • Needs iOS 11 update
    by mcs-seattle on December 20, 2017 at 6:55 pm

Works, but needs iOS 11 update

  • Not thought out
    by Joe7291276292 on September 2, 2017 at 5:37 am

You loose spell check along. You cant hold back space to erace long strings of text. Worth a dollar to try with no reviews but let me be the test case! Dont pay for it

  • Pretty good, but please update.
by Bot #103738292927 on April 9, 2017 at 1:25 am

this is a very decent Dvorak keyboard, but I need auto capitalization and settings to control things like whether or not the key caps are capitalized or not.

  • fortunately only 99¢
by Jiffy Pops on December 11, 2016 at 10:06 pm

Has not been updated in two years, so no lower case. Also no caps lock. Also no "hold for character options." I had to switch to QWERTY to type this review for both caps lock and cents character. I laughed, I cried. I kissed ninety-nine cents goodbye.

  • Next best thing to hardware Dvorak keyboard.
by Radical mothership on November 14, 2016 at 2:43 am

Good keyboard, but needs to incorporate Mike for Siri, then it would be 5 stars.

  • Dont spend the maney
by PetrolGas on August 13, 2016 at 12:25 pm

Im typing on thin keyboard now. It doesnt have autocorrect or suggest ponsible words. Capitalization is all wonky, see what i mean. The only reason im legible is because wy typing has slowed to a crawl. The developer thinks thin app is finishod. They howent touceh it in two years as of writing

  • DO NOT GET!
    by √-1 2^3 ∑ π on June 1, 2016 at 6:59 am

This app is NOT FLESHED OUT WELL ENOUGH. There is also no apparent effort on keeping thin app updated, and if you make the mistake of getting this, just letting you know that there is no refund. STAY AWAY.

  • Good enough
    by Serg675 on April 30, 2016 at 4:16 pm

Minus star for not having dictation button. I have to keep original keyboard around for this.

  • OK
by _nathanlucy on January 13, 2016 at 7:23 pm

The layout looks and feels native, but there is some strange behavior like deleting characters when double-spacing. (Noticed in Drafts app)

  • basic Dvorak layout
    by Radar_Iridium on October 22, 2015 at 4:55 pm

To be really useful, this keyboard needs all the functionality of other keyboards, e.g., n-dash and m-dash when hyphen is depressed; vowels with diacritic marks or other languages ü åō é and smart commas, apostrophes, and quotation marks. We need a keyboard that we can use 99% of the time in every app. Add those things, and this will be a superlative keyboard! ALL the iPhone keyboards need a forward delete key.

  • It needs update
    by idiots36 on October 15, 2015 at 6:59 am

I love your stuffs you make, also A Dvorak keyboard! I just want you to update this app for IOS 9 and so on. Like Distinguishable upper and lower case, Pop up whenever I touch keys Faster loading to bring up the keyboard Auto correction Key sounds same as Iphone keyboard Function that comes back to letter keyboard (After using special letters and number, pressing space bar leads you back to letter keyboard)

  • This keyboard layout needs a microphone
by That musical guy on October 3, 2015 at 3:39 pm

I love divorce shock. I love your divorce shock app. However, I need to have a microphone. I always use the microphone first, if possible. Then I type with my fingers, as a fallback, if necessary, second. Please update your divorce shock keyboard layout app such that it contains the microphone. Thank you.

  • Nice keyboard, but.....
by lexpost on September 24, 2015 at 8:39 pm

It definately needs auto-correct (at least, I do), also if it could switch back to the letter board after hitting a space after a comma. Lastly, if I tap and hold the cursor to drag it to a correction I need to make, it automatically flips to uppercase for that letter. Other than those unexpected behaviors, I like it and want to get used to it.

  • Fabulous!
    by Gem32. on August 8, 2015 at 6:07 pm

Thank you for the last review this really is a great work!

  • Too slow
by Yosh Tulwar on June 22, 2015 at 5:10 pm

If you're a fast typer like me, this is basically unusable. Had to go back to Apple's default keyboard (QWERTY). Pity, because this has the best layout of all Dvorak keyboards in the store.

  • not perfect, but good
    by ruggler11 on April 20, 2015 at 9:37 pm

Finally a dvorak keyboard that doesnt have a dumb key placement! I like this keyboard, but please add a popup on keypress option and caps lock on double-tapping shift 🙁

  • Almost there
by shanvander on January 29, 2015 at 3:32 am

This keyboard looks great. But if it's going to look like the apple qwerty keyboard then it needs to function like it. This keyboard feels different because the letters don't pop up when you hit them so you're fingers are constantly in the way. This won't matter so much when your thumbs get the hang of it but it makes the learning curve greater. There are other differences but none are so distracting as that one.

  • Bummer
    by dtb347 on December 18, 2014 at 4:00 pm

After looking for an app like this I was thrilled to find it! When I discovered I could buy it and download it but NOT switch to it I was really bummed.

  • Good start!
by benbenwilde on December 6, 2014 at 4:00 am

I'm really happy this is here, but it needs a little more work. It actually works really great, but it's a little slow opening up and I actually couldn't get it to work for writing this review :/ but it's really close to awesome!!!

  • has potential
by SpiritTalker on November 11, 2014 at 6:35 am

This has the potential to be a great keyboard. Two things are in the way: (1) over-aggressive auto-capitalization - when you want to insert a word into a sentence you already wrote, it goes into capitalization mode inappropriately, and there's no option to de-select this feature; and (2) there should be an option to switch back to the ABC layout from 123 after pressing the spacebar. As it is, I have to make too many corrections which slows down my typing.

  • The shift and backspace are in the perfect position!
by antijingoist on November 2, 2014 at 9:31 pm

Design reminds me of a dvorak concept keyboard from when the iphone first came out. This works really well because of the layout of the keys on a dvorak board. The top row is the only one that would have space. I have a wish list for this: sound, auto correct, returning to letters after a space, a few minor bug fixes, but the design and execution is enough for a five star review. Especially when its 99 cents. Dont listen to the haters, this is worth it.

  • Greatful
by ForrestLeviAlcatraz on November 1, 2014 at 6:43 pm

I'm glad you made this. Just try and update it to where it functions like a keyboard, and it will be golden.

  • Almost good
by Matthew Thomas on October 30, 2014 at 11:44 am

The backspace and shift buttons are in the wrong location. They should be on bottom but are not.

  • Bare minimum functionality
by Kwiqsilver on October 24, 2014 at 4:37 am

It doesn't have any auto correction or predictive capability. It doesn't have the smart shift. It doesn't even delete continuously when holding the delete key. It's so useless I'm using the standard keyboard to type this.

  • Lacks all but basic keyboard functions
by spandrelf on October 14, 2014 at 2:24 am

Things like auto-capitalizing first word, dropping the manual cap after one letter, adding period with double-space, reverting to letters after grabbing punctuation... Doing without these is a nuisance. Also, despite being a Dvorak touch-typist on the computer, I find that using the same layout with the iPhone interface is a strange transition, not as much of a relief as I had expected...

  • It's a good start but ...
by Buraijin on October 10, 2014 at 11:18 am

While the layout is good it lacks any other functionality like auto-correct, double-tapping the space bar to get a period, etc. I really want to learn to use the DVORAK layout but I'm gonna wait until there's some more features that make this keyboard a little more efficient to use.

  • Not There Yet
by penguirl on October 1, 2014 at 5:43 pm

As others have pointed out you lose all text services when using this layout. Interestingly I cannot write this review using this layout, it is not available. Hopefully they will continue development on this layout.

  • Primitive and Inconvenient
by robbieantenesse on September 30, 2014 at 2:33 pm

While it is certainly a Dvorak keyboard, it lacks the basic features of the existing iOS keyboard altogether. There is only a caps lock button and no shift. There is a backspace key up in the top right corner instead of where we are used to it in the bottom right, and any punctuation does not switch back to the keyboard like the default. Glad it was only $0.99

  • Not quite there
    by Que_101 on September 30, 2014 at 12:54 am

Needs work to be a keyboard I would use! I trust and hope they will get it working perfect! I look forward to a fully functional Dvorak keyboard, I would even be willing to pay a higher price for a great one!

  • okay
by LeChatParle on September 27, 2014 at 4:14 pm

The keyboard is a bit buggy, and the keys don't pop up. There's room for improvement. Hopefully the developer continues to work on this because I have been waiting for a Dvorak Keyboard on iOS, and this just isn't the best it could be

  • Effort Appreciated
    by 74910384203 on September 27, 2014 at 5:54 am

This keyboard is impossible to type on, but I'm not upset at all that I spend 99¢ on it. Hopefully strong interest will encourage continued refinement, and eventual practicality.

  • Non functional
by Reliclight on September 27, 2014 at 2:50 am

Crashes keyboard every time, even in iOS 8.0.2. Please make usable. Address other people's concerns. Capitalization, UI response, autocorrect.

  • Failure!
by chadoh on September 26, 2014 at 6:02 pm

    * Can't repeat keys by holding them * doesn't use inbuilt text prediction * doesn't flash which key you're currently pressing like inbuilt keyboard

  • Nice start, but needs more refinement.
    by Stringsn88keys on September 26, 2014 at 3:56 am

Without autocorrect and predictive typing, this is slightly less capable than the stock qwerty keyboard.

  • Nice attempt.
by derekkrencik on September 24, 2014 at 6:21 pm

Looks like the iOS 8 keyboard design, but does not function at all like you'd expect. Needs more work to get the details right such as proper shift key and caps lock functionality, typewriter-style popup letters, and general UI behavior.

  • Nice effort but just not there yet
by KristenErika on September 24, 2014 at 12:50 pm

I've been waiting for a Dvorak keyboard on iOS for years. I understand that this is a work in progress, and can live without autocorrect, but this keyboard is so clunky and unresponsive that it's practically unusable (key presses do not always register, noticeable delays, shift button only allows caps lock). Additionally, it doesn't work well (or in some cases at all) in many apps. Particularly anything Apple 1st party forces me back to QWERTY, even though I disabled the stock layout. That said I realize this might be an iOS issue and not the keyboard software itself.

  • First Dvorak keyboard, rushed to market
by Daniel Marquard on September 24, 2014 at 1:45 am

Given that Apple now provides APIs for developing custom keyboards, it's probably not a huge feat to rearrange the keys to achieve a Dvorak layout. However, this app does not even utilize features fundamental to iOS, such an automatic capitalization. It was rushed to market. Someone had to be the first, right? Don't waste your time or money with this app unless you absolutely cannot use QWERTY is iOS.

  • Nonfunctional ripoff
by C. Thorp on September 24, 2014 at 1:09 am

This app is completely nonfunctional. After you enable it and select it while entering text, the entire keyboard disappears and the only way to get it back is to delete the keyboard in settings.

  • Not yet a suitable replacement.
    by Vy_let on September 23, 2014 at 11:53 pm

These are the problems I've noticed so far: • It doesn't pop up keys from underneath your fingers for typing on small screens. • It doesn't allow typing of àcçéñted characters by holding down the keys. • And it doesn't keep deleting when you hold down the delete key.
