    Zero functionality at this point. Years of login issues before this, and now it just doesn’t work no matter what you do. Can’t recognize correct login information. Website login works fine, app login works not at all.

    Forgot password, tried to reset, reset page doesn’t allow copy/paste or dismissing the keyboard to even see the confirm password field. Password that meets stated requirements isn’t accepted.

    When this first came out it was AMAZING and saved me from fraud. I misplace my card often (whoops) and this is great to temporarily shut it off. This app has been glitchy for the last 6 months. There are places now that give me declined transactions even though I’m standing in the store and this never happened before. So now I have to remember to turn off the location setting at each of these places. The transaction history doesn’t show up correctly anymore. I have to go to filter and change it to Untagged for anything to show up and then it goes right back. For some reason my debit card keeps disappearing from the app (my husbands is still there). If I try to add the account it says it’s already added. So since it doesn’t show up I can’t control it or get notifications and every where I try to use it when it doesn’t show up ends up giving me a fraud notice. So now I’m out a working debit card with no one to talk to. I’ve installed and uninstalled this way too many times....

    The only reason I would use this app rather than the other Educators app is for the ability to freeze a card. This app would be irrelevant if that feature gets added to the Educators app. Ctrl is much more touchy with bugs and less reliable.

    11/5/19: I’m leaving my old 1-star review text, but adding updates below! The recent update made this a 5-star app! This is a cool app, but it could be even better. Here’s what I’d like to see: 1) I'd love if I could see account credit notifications in real time rather than just withdrawals. Money doesn’t only just leave my account luckily. UPDATE 11/5/19: I’d still love to see this feature added. 2) I’d like TouchID/FaceID to actually work. Half the time it forces me to enter my password. The other half it gives me TouchID/FaceID. If that were coded correctly, it would work every time. Biometrics (TouchID/FaceID) are much more secure than a password so you’re actually compromising security by having a biometric timeout, not making anything more secure. UPDATE 11/5/19: FaceID now seems to work every single time. Yay!!! 3) The most important thing: There should be a third option besides just on or off. There should be a middle ground option where if set, it would send me a push notification to accept or deny the charge. Only having on and off is too rudimentary and often leads to denied charges that should be accepted, but I forget I have my card off. UPDATE 11/5/19: While I’d still love the option to have accept/deny via push notifications, the new option of “on until next transaction” is a fantastic addition! Now the card automatically turns itself back off. Great! I'm glad this app exists, but do hope ECU’s app vendor continues to develop it and makes it more useful. It’s been over a year since it was updated last. That’s not okay. Do better, ECU. UPDATE 11/5/19: Thank you for doing better, ECU! This app is very useful. Yes there are still things I’d like to see added, but it’s now a great app that helps me manage my money. And I ABSOLUTELY LOVE that transactions that previously went through are now getting denied. Thank you thank you thank you!!!

    This app is nice and all because you can control certain settings on your card and you know when it was used right away but I have a lot of pending transactions from a long time ago that are most definitely not pending anymore. And this morning there was a charge posted from a couple of days ago and the name of the transaction was the from wrong place. I freaked out and had to make sure my card wasn’t being used in fraud.

    This app is not worth downloading. It isn’t always accurate and it logs me out all the time. It’s supposed to allow me to use my fingerprint or a passcode to login, but that never works. It also doesn’t accept my password sometimes, so then I have to start over and set up a new password, which is the same password I was using for weeks. ECU - you can do better than this.

    I lost my credit card in July, 2018, and have been trying to erase the old card and add my new card to the app. Sadly I contacted ECU three times and they have no idea how to fix the problem (March 2019). I guess I’ll cancel the app since it’s useless to me!

  • Transactions Not Correct

    This app would be great once they fix the issues. There are a lot of “pending” transactions when there really isn’t (i had to double check my educators app). And the name on the transactions are incorrect. I had to make sure that my credit card didn’t get hacked! There was a transaction that i did yesterday for the amount of $7.99 and it was for a grocery store; this morning the transaction said the correct amount of $7.99 but for the YMCA of Houston TX?? I live in Wisconsin so I had to double check my account to make sure it wasn’t fraud!!! Nope, there was nothing on my actual card pending for that. This app is just goofy like that and it needs to be fixed!

    There have been a few times where I changed the setting on my Ctrl app to allow certain purchases and it would still deny them. I’m trying to buy Christmas presents online and it’s very frustrating that my card is being denied online even though my Ctrl app says I can use it for these items and i have more than enough funds in my account. Definitely need to get bugs fixed !

    So the app is great in theory but then there servers never online. I don’t know why but since I have join educators this app has been down. I don’t why but they should fix this soon! (Like 2 weeks now)

    I have an iPhone X with iOS 12 and it doesn’t work at all on my phone. I loved this app beforehand. Loved how I could turn on and off my cards but now it just says establishing a secure connection and never prompts a log in page. Very frustrating. Please fix ASAP! I love this feature.

    Very simple, not always the easiest to navigate. Really like the ability to get quickly notified of purchases, with the amount and location. Some of the other app offerings arnt as easy to navigate, like the menu icon being in the right but it opening on the left. Over all it’s a very basic app, with pretty straightforward features.

    This app is flakey and the service it connects to is unreliable. Extremely frustrating to use when you absolutely need it. The nature of the app is for use during urgent times so support it!

    This app is a great idea in theory, but needs improvements. There have been a few times that I log in, and have serious concerns as to if my credit card has been compromised - 1) only to find out it is still showing in the app as a pending transaction from over a week ago, or 2) the name on the transaction is just wrong, but the dollar amount aligns with a transaction I made. For example: I made a purchase from an online-only company, however, the app shows up as a purchase from GoodWill in the same dollar amount. I calmed down once I saw the ECU mobile site reflects with the correct name. (I have no problems with GoodWill, but honestly haven’t been there in years to shop.) Another feature of the app that would be a nice fix is the inconsistent login method. Sometimes it asks me to type in the password, while other times it uses FaceID.

    This app needs work..serious work. My card was declined a few times. I finally told Educators whatever restrictions were on my card they need to remove it! My card should not be declining especially when I have this handy dandy crappy app to monitor my card. I don’t understand the point of the app, an app I can turn my card off and on if I would like. The transactions on the CTRL app don’t match up with the ones on the Educators app..example: a $20 purchase at King Wok, which i don’t eat at is showing up on the CTRL app but not the Educators app. I will be calling educators to see if this $20 charge is actually true

    Update: This app is still total garbage and there is zero support from ECU. ECU clearly doesn't listen to, or care about their customers. I'm done with this bank. Worst financial institution I've ever dealt with. I'll be switching all accounts for my family to another bank immediately. If I could give this bank and app negative stars, you better believe I would. Honestly, I've never seen an app - especially from a financial institution- that is so poorly thought out. Whomever is developing theses apps, please fire then and hire someone who knows what they're doing. First off, pleas explain what the point of enabling a PIN number or TouchID is when you just force the user to enter their password after so many days? Who thought that was a good "feature"? It doesn't make the app secure, FYI. And if you think it does, please refer to my first statement about firing the dev. Secondly you can't paste username or passwords I to the login form. Ok, I get that to a degree, but it goes back to my first point again about poor developer. Hello, enable paste on login and have he app clear he keyboard cache and memory after login. Problem solved. It's not an issue to have copy/paste on "sensitive" inputs if you're properly clearing the keyboard cache. Not to mention the main mobile banking app allows pasting credentials. Don't get me started on that pile of garbage. ECU has been a huge disappointment.

    I have touch login enabled but it does not work. Tries support once and they were no help really. Also why is this not built into my bank's online banking application. I should not have to have 2 user names and passwords. Poor programming. I will be deleting it again and not coming back to it. Great idea, poor implementation.

    I'm sure banks think his makes their apps safer when in reality people have to use a less secure password to be able to type it in. Better than copy and paste, why not use the login extension. Which is designed to handle this exact scenario? Not a good start when I haven't even logged in or used he app and I'm already upset.

    I use a password manager to increase the security and uniqueness of my passwords—meaning, in many cases, my passwords are long, incomprehensible, and functionally impossible to type in manually. In this version of the app, pasting text into the password field on the login page has been explicitly disabled, preventing me from using my (secure) password workflow. Update, one year later: Still no support for pasting a password. I have the app installed and setup, but it goes completely unused. I have to write down my password on a piece of paper every time I want to use the app. Insanity.

    This app used to work okay until touch ID was added. Now, every time I try to use touch ID, the app cycles back and forth between the touch ID screen and the login screen. This is very annoying and the only way I can get into the app is to completely close it, then open it using my password. Once I login using my password it works fine. This is so annoying that I've considered deleting the app, but I like having control over the status of my cards.The only reason that I gave it 2 stars instead of 1 star is because, once I have access the app using my password, the app works normally. Please fix the touch ID portion of this app.

    How do I get rid of the notifications on the app?! I've opened it up and clicked on every possible button and it's still telling me I have hundreds of unread notifications... That's such a huge pet peeve of mine. Someone help!

    The app worked in the beginning but now it does not ask me for my Touch ID on my iPhone and I have to sign in every time I open the app. This issue has been going on for months and my app and phone are both up to date.

    I totally love how I can control all my cards through this app. I'm even able to control the spending of my daughter at school. They don't say it but it works on my iPad also. The touchId is very cool however it only lets you stay logged in for 7 days as a security feature. Keep up the great work.

  • Sporadic fingerprint authentication

    I like the app over all but I noticed that I often have problems with the fingerprint authentication mechanism of the app. I love using this feature on my iphone 6 but with this app you often have to both use the fingerprint mechanism and use your password. The fingerprint mechanism seems to work at first but I am often redirected right after to the login page anyway. That kind of defeats the purpose of having figerprint authentication.

    & I mentioned it appreciatively on Twitter. My concern, however, is if my phone is lost or stolen there is NO iPad app available (yet??) so I can turn cards off from iPad. This has to happen. If I do not have my phone I can't turn card ON to get home, for example. (UBER, example).

    Now I'm not able to log-in anymore I tried to create a new log-in and it still doesn't work. This would of been a great idea if this actually WORKED! Come on Educators CU get it together!!

    I am unable to create a new user. Cryptic error message tells me to try again later. The contact us page was blank when I clicked it. There are very few instructions about creating a new user account. Do I use my own information or the primary account holder? Will I be able to enter all of my cards or only those associated with the account used during registration? Who knows. I can't get far enough in the process to find out.
