    If you need help finding your account number or are getting errors, like I did, READ THIS: *Updated 10/15/20 1. Log in to your lender’s website Ex: 2. Find your Student Loan Obligation Statement 3. Look for your Payment Reference Number. (It is a really long number. Mine did not have any letters in the beginning of it like the Momentum app suggested it might.) 4. If it says “oops we hit a snag”, gets an error saying your number is wrong, or says it’s having trouble connecting to your debit card, choose “Unenroll”. It will sign you out. Sign in again. It will start fresh and you’ll have to go through steps 1-3 above. It doesn’t work for credit cards and if you’re like me, it will force you to do this step (Step 4) if you get a new phone. Thank you to Fifth Third staff for patiently not helping at all while I manually troubleshooted and solved it myself. Also a big thank you to my loan provider for being a bunch of clueless c-words. To the developers, add step 4 above to your faq or help and I will change my review to 5 stars. I’ll be waiting.

    I used this app until I paid off my last student loan. It worked as advertised and helped me effortlessly chip away at debt. I didn’t have to think about it or log in or anything. In fact, the only time I noticed was when I checked my bank account and saw a couple dollars here or there being flipped to my loan. No extra frills, but the app works just as advertised. I recommend it! I do have two suggestions for improvements: First, I’d love to continue “rounding-up” savings now that I’m through with my student loans, and simply roll them into a savings account. Second, one drawback was that the app only connects with my 5/3 debit, not my credit card. There is probably a reason behind this, but I would’ve liked to continue penny pinching no matter which card I used.

    I liked this app for a long time. But, recently I received a new debit card and even after following the in app instructions I could not get the app to recognize one my card. I have called customer service several times and they were unable to help. In fact my most recent attempt today customer service told me they only take care of checking and savings accounts. They said the app is not theirs and they do not have means to support it. Still have not got it fixed so it works right. You guys need to fix the issue with the card update screen. Update: I eventually had to delete and reinstall the app. Hopefully it’s doing what I want it to do now...

    I downloaded the app two weeks ago and it wouldn’t let me type in the zip code to set up my account; it would close the app at the fourth number. The app was updated a few days ago and after I updated it I was able to type in the whole zip code but now when I hit enter it comes up with an automatic message saying they’ve hit a snag.

    SECOND UPDATE (7-26-19): Latest update fixed the issue and was able to update it to my new loan account without it crashing whenever I went to enter the zip code. I’m giving them 3 stars for now since They FINALLY fixed the problem. UPDATE (7-11-19): Sill having issues trying to set up my new account and it crashes every time I try to enter the zip code!! Why hasn’t this been fixed yet when everybody else has been having this issue?! Also I’ve been having issues even trying to log into the app where it says “something is not working right. Please try again” and I know I’m entering my password correctly. This is getting very, very frustrating now!!! I’ve had this app for over a year now and haven’t had any issues until now. I recently refinanced my student loans, which means switching to a new loan provider. When I go in to enter the new account info, I don’t have any issues until I enter the first 5 digits of the zip code and then it shuts down on me. I’ve tried to update it several times yesterday and again today and it’s still crashing on me, specifically when I’m entering the first 5 digits of the zip code. Fifth Third, please fix this ASAP so I can update it before the next round up takes place.

    So I thought it was just my phone, but I see everyone else is having the same problem. When I try to enter the zip code for the lender, the app crashes after I enter the 5th digit before I have time to enter the last four digits. It’s very frustrating that the last time the app was updated was almost three months ago, while I see numerous reviews saying the same thing for the past three months. Do they not care that their app hasn’t been working? Fix the app.

    I was going to use this to try and help pay down student loans but it crashes every time I’m inputting the zip code. I reinstalled the app and restarted several times. After reading other reviews this seems to be an issue for the past few months. I would have thought they could fix it by now.

    I called customer service after multiple failed attempts to put my provider in. The app crashes at the fourth number out of nine digit zip code. If I try to put my account in for the other provider, i get “oops there’s something wrong with your account number” even though I am inputting the exact account number located on my statement.

    the idea behind this app is great but currently I’m completely unable to utilize it - every time I try to enter the zip code of the loan provided when setting it up it crashes the app and logs me out. I have uninstalled and reinstalled, reset my phone, and made sure my phone software was up to date. Please help

    I’ve been trying to change my student loan information for over a week and as soon as I type in the billing zip code the app crashes. I checked for new updates and even tried to see if I could update my loan info online but no luck. App support just takes you to the general signup page.

    No help from 5/3 customer service team. Cannot get the application to accept my account number correctly. Great idea...horrible execution. I would rather 5/3 have this same idea and round up into a separate savings that I can manually put towards student loans.

    The app means to do well, but in reality it’s been two weeks and I haven’t seen the deposit to my student loan account. I’ve been with 5/3 for half my life now...why is it you can’t deposit the money to the proper account, and unlike all the people who have posted an error...I do not get it so I’m not calling the lender. On top of that you pulled extra money out and it has not been deposited into my momentum account...instead it’s in some weird limbo. Do not put some message of “sorry you’re having troubles. Give us a call” like I see on all the posts. Fix it! And if you’re doing things a 5/3 better you would call the customers to solve the problem instead. A 5/3 better...fake news.

    I have seen similar apps or programs that allow you to make small change amount payments towards student loans but never used them. I am SO happy 53rd offers this and wish I had found it earlier! I have a story that unfortunately matches a lot of individuals my age: Attended college through financial aid to pursue my dream of working in healthcare. I was hired 2 weeks after graduating with a degree board certification as an Athletic Trainer and things seemed awesome! Unfortunately my field is one of “passion” and not “fortune” so my government and private loans came in FAST. I now have the peace of mind that although I can’t afford to make larger extra payments 53rd allows me to chip away at my debt effortlessly. I am on track to a better financial future and so happy they made an app that was SO SIMPLE to follow. Took about 2 minutes to pull up my info and enter it. Afternoon coffee=rounded up towards my debt. Woohoo!

    This is a great app with a great purpose. I agree with the others that said it would be nice to use with other loans. I would also like to see FaceID/TouchID in the app. Other than that great app!

    Couldn’t even get past the first step of entering in my loan information because I got an error message that something was wrong with my zip code. Despite the information being correct the error message kept popping up & there’s no way to contact anyone for support through the app which left me with no solution to the issue.

    I really like the function of this app and it has really helped pay down my loans. One request: it would be really nice to see within the app, current rounds-up that have not been dispersed to your loan. Currently you get a running total of all of your round ups and payments per month, but, in addition, it would nice to see which rounds-up that have not been applied to your loan via a payment. (Ex. I see a payment was dispersed Friday for 5.50, but I have had several roundups in and around Friday. No way to tell without manually tracking how much is building up for the next payment, unless the following Friday, I see another payment was made, but then the cycle continues). Would be nice to see a field named something fitting, like: ‘unpaid round ups’.

    I too have been trying to set this up off and on for months and always get the same “oops looks like there is something wrong with your account number” error that many others are receiving. I’ve verified all my information and confirmed my account number to be correct. I’ve called the customer service line and was simply told to call my loan provider to verify my information, which I had previously, and was at that exact moment logged onto my loan providers website and into my account looking at my account information. 5/3 Customer service left me with no help and yet again, I am unable to use this app like many others.

    Momentum now works seamlessly with Navient Dept. of Ed. Loans. Since January, I’ve added a $70 dent in my student loans that I otherwise would not have. As someone, who rarely uses their debit card, this is super cool. Since there is absolutely no cost, it’s a no brainer for any Fifth Third customer who wants to get ahead on paying of their of some debt.

    So I don’t normally write reviews but for this one I will make an exception! My husband and I are working to be debt free and this app is a great way to help with our student loans. If you read the one star reviews they are from people who are not paying attention to directions. This is for Fifth Third customers only, if you want your financial institution to do this call them!! When it prompts for a zip code it is not asking for yours!!! It’s asking for the student loan provider where you would send payments by mail! For Navient go under “contact us” on the bottom of the screen and you will find it!

    I have been using this for 2 months now and love it! I love that 5/3 offers this service. You can choose to round up each payment TO the next dollar or BY a dollar, and send the roundup amount to your loan servicer. Super easy to use- I experienced some errors/glitches when setting up my account initially but they seem to have fixed them. Thanks 5/3!

    I love the idea of this app however I can’t get past the setup because it won’t accept my zip code though I’m putting it in correctly. I’m guessing it doesn’t support Navient loans based on other reviews. Such a shame as I have been a long time Fifth Third customer and have continuously defended them but this is frustrating.

    I really enjoy how easy this app makes making extra contributions to my loans! I use my debit card a lot so I've already see the benefit this app provides! The only issue I've had thus far is that I wish I was able to edit my debit card information easier within the app itself. I see all sorts of 'change' options in the settings regarding loan service and "preferences", but when I go into preferences to update my card all I can do is update the amount I'd like to contribute toward my loans. I had to unenroll and then re-enroll to get my card to update, which was a little clunky. Otherwise though, I'm very pleased!

    I was excited to install and use this app. However, I can’t get past the first set up screen. I have my account number and entered it. Then, I entered my zip code and it keeps telling me that it is incorrect. I know my zip code and confirmed that it is the same zip code that my loan company is using. I am deleting the app.

    I verified my account number and entered it correctly and kept getting the “opps, wrong account number” message. App left me in no man’s land instead of offering to connect me to someone or provide a support number. Fantastic idea but needs more work.
