Good Todo

Access your todos any time with this simple but powerful todo list. Good Todo is easy to use and syncs with your online account. iPhone AND iPad versions are both included in one download.

Create new todos, edit existing todos, mark todos as done or undone. Reorder todos up and down the list. Other features include categories, viewing attachments, separate todo lists for each day in the calendar, the ability to redate todos to different days, and emailing a todo to any email address.

The main feature, though, is the SIMPLICITY of the tool. Anyone can begin managing their todos immediately with Good Todo.

Follow us on Twitter:

– Reorder your todos (iPhone and iPad): tap-and-hold until little drag icons appear on right. Then drag todos up and down the list, and tap Done when complete.

– View links (iPhone): tap "View links" button to turn into links any phone numbers, email and Web addresses, etc. in the todo detail.

– Full screen (iPad): tap "Full screen" button to use the entire iPad's screen to read through any todo. This also turns on any links. (Operates much like "print" link in the web app.)

– Clear details (iPad): To clear the view of the right-hand pane in the iPad app, leaving only the todo list visible, swipe the right side of the screen to the left with two fingers.

– Capitalize first word of title (iPhone and iPad): new item in Settings allows you to decide whether the first word of a todo title should be capitalized by default.

– Swipe left to move ahead one day. Swipe right to back back a day.

– SEARCH: Pull down the todo list to reveal the search field.

  • Can't sign up via iPhone app
by Loloshopper on 2015-02-26 at 6:29 PM

I downloaded the iPhone app first, but there is no option to set up a new account (only to just login). I guess you don't want me to use it.

  • Can't login on iPhone
by AliWeston on 2014-12-24 at 3:22 PM

Have correct iOS on phone but can't login on iPhone. Even after removing app, reinstalling, changing login on website and entering details on phone, it won't let me in. Not much use. Otherwise, like the website...

  • Goodtodo is great!
by Kiredoe on 2014-11-22 at 1:34 AM

I've used Goodtodo for years. It really keeps me productive. Before I started using it, I felt constantly overwhelmed by everything on my plate. Being able to move things to the right day in the future keeps every day manageable and satisfying. Other todo apps just don't seem to get this. Yay, Goodtodo!

  • A Productivity Driver - Not just ToDos
by jwhevans on 2014-10-26 at 3:56 PM

First, the app is free the service is not. Second, the service is grossly underpriced. Third, read "Bit Literacy." If you manage multiple people, tasks, priorities, and deadlines then you need Mark's book. I have used GoodTodo for several years now. I keep expecting someone to copy this system, but it has yet to happen. It is the only system I've found that actually works.

  • Clean interface but a disaster to use
by UtahJon on 2014-09-03 at 3:43 AM

I actually liked the clean interface enough to upgrade to a paid user ... Oops! I'm not sure as to how or why, but it seems like whenever I'm out of wifi range with my ipad, it starts to happen -- triple, quadruple, or even higher multiples of repeat entries when the ipad is able to re-"sync". I'll have maybe 30 todo's then suddenly 120 appear and I've got to go through and try deleting those that are repeats without accidentally deleting valid ones. Nightmarish. Tried contacting support twice, to no avail.

Suddenly requires a password. I don't have one so won't open. Tried to update but crashes. Have loved this app in past but now can't get my info.

  • Upgrade crashes every time
    by Homeschool2boys on 2014-01-05 at 11:04 PM

This is one of my two top apps, but after using it successfully all day I tried updating to the new version and it will no longer open. Rebooted phone but that didn't help. Normally I would give this app 5 stars when it works.

  • This App Helps You Get Things Done!
by O Solo Mia on 2013-10-19 at 9:04 PM

I am currently reading the creator's book, "Bit Literacy," and incorporating this app and other workload-management strategies into my life. I love the way this app works. Its simplicity is its strength. There are a couple features I'd like to see in an update: "Expiration Date" for each to-do Display of to-do's in lock screen

  • intuitive, powerful tool
by pellegrinino on 2013-08-03 at 10:09 PM

Having used this for about a year, I'd say it's the most useful productivity app I've found. good todo has a couple of capabilities that make it different from similar apps. The biggest advantage is that it provides a tool for managing your email inbox -- you can forward any email to show up on the gootodo list for any selected future date. I.e. this is useful for important emails that can be postponed, so you can go ahead and clear those out of your inbox without losing track of them. Also, tasks that aren't completed stay on the gootodo list by default. All in all, this is the first todo list I've had where I feel in control of it instead of the other way around.

  • Login required
by Grrrateful on 2013-07-27 at 1:42 PM

Looks like a beautiful app, and folks are super happy with it; but I wish I had known before downloading there's a required sign up and a 10 task limit per day without monthly paid subscription ($3/mo). Unfortunately not ideal for my needs.

  • Good todo good to have

finally an answer to my to do list problems. one simple, easy to use solution that so intuitive i didn't need any help getting to work. a first for me! love being able to re order my tasks, sync across my platforms. highly recommended.

  • Always my go-to To-do manager
    by dbev79 on 2013-07-11 at 5:16 PM

I have tried every To-do app for my Mac/iPhone/iPad and keep coming back to Good To-do. Simple and elegant, containing all of the essential features I need, and I love the roll-over feature for to-do's that I didn't complete today.

by wisecooksey on 2013-07-11 at 4:37 PM

… and I've tried a *lot* of ways to track to-do's and to get things done. I've used the service for a few years now, sometimes more than others, and love it and the app ~ just makes. so. much. sense. The more I use Good ToDo, the better I stay organized, basically.

  • Delightful

by coltonhurst on 2012-10-08 at 1:45 AM

  • Awesome!
by Good todo on 2012-07-23 at 11:07 PM

    Helps me remember everything!

  • Actually helps without becoming another task!
by lawaters on 2012-03-06 at 10:24 PM

When recent project volume started reaching insanity levels, I searched for recommendations for a to do list app that was almost as easy to use as my handwritten Moleskine pad. I saw Good Todo recommended on LifeHacker. I spent a few minutes with the trial version in my browser and immediately subscribed to the service. It's the best $18/yr I've ever spent! The iPhone app is superb - couldn't be easier or more helpful. Each day it takes me directly to my list for that day - and I can easily navigate to past or future dates. I can filter by category, and search my to do's. As a coder, I can receive a lot of requests throughout the day - rapid fire. Good ToDo lets me quickly add a task, give it a category, assign a date - and add notes. I can even forward emails to my Good ToDo list - giving it a day due and category in the subject line. I didn't want a project management app that wants to become my new life philosophy. I don't have time to spend learning some complex approach to managing my life. I want something that helps me get things done, and makes my life easier without taking over! This is that app. While you're at it - check out the app creator's Good Experience newsletter (good I've been a subscriber for a few years - it's always good for insight, inspiration and ideas for improving customer/user experience. Mark Hurst knows his field. Highly recommend!

  • Nice app in support of an elegantly simple but useful service
by WhaddayaKnow on 2011-09-02 at 4:16 PM

It's difficult to assess this app separately from the Good Todo service itself, since they rather go hand-in-hand. Good Todo has proven itself as the only task management approach that's ever truly worked for me. I feel more organized, more productive and more in-control than I have at any point in my professional (or personal) life. Of course, any tool of this sort requires disclipline and commitment, and Good Todo is no exception, and this app is one piece of that puzzle for me; being able to access and manage tasks anywhere, anytime is essential. The real elegance of Good Todo is in its simplicity. You won't find over-the-top "featureitis" in Good Todo; it's very focused, and encourages you not to overthink and overanalyze. It's about capturing the tasks, and making appropriate decisions about them. This particular version of the app has a bug related to new tasks, but an update is already in the pipeline. No matter; it's still one of a handful of apps I use multiple times every day. Love it!

  • Not free
by technorogue on 2011-07-07 at 1:38 PM

Forces you to sign up for a monthly $3 fee. Uninstalled.

  • Simple, yet powerful. Seamless across iPhone, iPad, web, email!
    by owe-me on 2011-06-15 at 6:47 PM

Totally worth my $3/month. This handy app is so simple--create todos anywhere, they show up everywhere (all of your devices, plus website, email). Great cross-platform cloud integration. Its also has powerful settings so you can tweak it to fit your workflow--like categories, and my favorite, the 'new in v2.06', make the adding of a todo on the website a field instead of a link. They have done a great job at keeping the user interface minimalist and simplistic, while still allowing for alot of helpful features. So many apps start out well, but succumb to feature creep as they grow in user base and age, which usually worsens the main user's experience. That has NOT happened here--nice work!

  • Finally settled on a todo app
by karynv on 2011-06-15 at 4:53 PM

Requirement: a simple todo app to use on Mac, Windows, iPhone and iPad. Tried: many! Good Todo is the winner. I like the way it keeps my lists shorter by having a new list for each day. I don't want the complexity of RTM or Toodledo with tags and priorities. I can hide my Home list in a folder so it won't bother me at work. I can write details about the item. I use recurring todos for my daily tasks and put items on a later list. In short, Good Todo helps me organize and remember without overwhelming me. I've stopped looking for another solution.

  • A must-have productivity app
    by Vaticano1 on 2011-06-06 at 6:18 PM

There are few tools that I consider a must-have; this is definitely one of them. A truly one-of-a-kind app, Good ToDo revolutionizes the way that I work and has vastly improved my efficiency. When paired with all of the lessons of _Bit Literacy_ (by Mark Hurst), I have become a more effective leader and change-agent within my organization. Get it. Live it.

  • Success!
by kj wilkerson on 2011-04-04 at 1:51 AM

Finally -- I've have a system that combines the best of a paper based planner with all of the bells and whistles of an electronic system. Being able to forward emails to Good Todo, being able to future post, being able to access on all of my devices. . . ahhhhhhh. Life is Good (Todo)!

  • Great extension of Good Todo online
by Tracy @ Logy Express on 2011-04-02 at 2:09 PM

I love Good Todo and have been using the online version for a couple of years--I reviewed it favorably on my blog Logy Express. This app is a welcome extension of the service for the iPad. The current version is very good. I like that you can now more easily re-prioritize tasks. My one complaint (which is why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5) is that you can't delete a task, like you can on the online version. Or if you can, I'm just not seeing how.

  • Love this to do list!
by Helen H. on 2011-03-24 at 3:58 PM

I love the GoodToDo to do list and now having it on my iPad makes it even better. This was the first app I added to my new iPad. Being able to manage my to do list offline is great.

  • Perfect, no frills productivity helper
by Mach Fam on 2011-03-21 at 6:36 PM

Having used many to do lists over the years, this is the one I've settled on. Simple, intuitive and works for me. Also great that I can have everything sync up between my iphone, ipad and mbp, as well as access from anywhere. I would equate this to do list to my experience with apple. It does what it is supposed to really well, and it just works.

  • Outstanding
by Johnkmk on 2011-03-16 at 10:30 AM

Simple and effective. Have stuck with this todo app longer than any other.

  • It will change your life!
by VeronicaPastore on 2011-03-15 at 2:21 PM

I love Good Todo. I've been using the web-based version for about three months and it's no exaggeration to say it's changed my life. Naturally I was thrilled about the iPhone app. It's got the same clean functionality and ease of use I've grown to love from Good To Do. It's super helpful to be able to add to-dos directly into my phone when I'm on the go. Huge fan.

  • Love Good To Do
by Jazmin The Inside Guide on 2011-03-11 at 7:02 PM

I had been using my email inbox as a To Do list for several years and 10,000 inbox messages later, I finally decided to get help. Mark's system is easy to use and flexible enough for me. I've tried more complex To Do list solutions like OmniFocus but this has just as many features as I need and nothing more. At $3 a month, it's well worth the cost of keeping me sane. Check out Mark's free Bit Literacy book no matter which To Do list solution you end up using.

  • Best to-do App
by Guilty Bystander on 2011-03-11 at 6:05 PM

Having tried virtually every to-do app out there, this is my favorite. Clean, free of distractions, yet with enough features to enable all the sorting I need and absolutely the best integration with email I've experienced. Less time spent making the list, more checking things off of it. Good stuff!

Excellent app and website. I've already cleaned out my inbox and will rest easier knowing things won't be falling through the cracks anymore. I've tried paper, excel and other apps, but this is by far the simplest and best ToDo method I've found.

  • An easy, simple to do list.
by Absquatulate on 2011-01-29 at 3:38 PM

This is the to-do list I've been waiting for. I am not a big fan of making lists. Some people live by lists but I am not one of them. I've never found a productivity app that I've stuck with because I've always felt they required too much investment either by reading books or managing the list itself. My list management needs revolve around managing emails, personal errands, and reminders for work related tasks. I haven't used it for large scale project management (yet.) So for those uses this app has been very helpful. I love the automatic roll-over of to-do items: many of the things are simply things that should get done sometime this week, not necessarily today and I'm happy to not have to manage that roll-over each and every day. You can also make to-dos for particular days which is handy for things that should be done in the future. I also like the email feature: it sends the email to your to-do list along with any attachments (for example, if you need to review them.) The automatic sync between Good Experience servers and your iPhone is also key: I had a protocol to review for a study I will be helping out with so I forwarded the email to the website and it appeared on my phone, complete with the attachment so I could review it while on the bus. Brilliant! It seems you can group to-dos into categories but I haven't found a way to do that on the phone (I see the category but no way to add categories?) All in all, I'm very happy with this app. I'm sure as time goes on it will be refined and enhanced with more useful little bits that make you think, "Why hasn't anyone thought of this before?"

  • great extension to the web site
by Yeezles on 2011-01-21 at 3:33 AM

I've used several todo lists over the years, and the email integration and date-management features that define goodtodo make it far more useful and natural a tool than any other. this app is a perfect mobile extension of the site, and fills in with surgical precision where the site leaves off. adding and managing tasks is quick and simple, and the syncing works wonderfully--no small feat. feels totally of-a-piece with the goodtodo site, which is high praise. well worth a shot.

  • Wow
by WNCRedDevil on 2011-01-08 at 9:18 PM

have been searching for years for a simple To-Do list for my iPod Touch (on which I manage my calendars, lists, e-mails, notes, etc.) for years, I am a big believer in the GTD David Allen system. I am a business process management and improvement consultant by trade, and my biggest issue with most productivity apps is that you spend more time managing and troubleshooting them than its worth, after trying several I went back to an old-fashioned written to-do list system for efficiency until now. I found your app last night and I have already subscribed, it is simple, effective, and actually saves time. Here is what I love specifically: A user can have all your to-do's by category in one place A user can e-mail from multiple e-mail addresses A user can check things off and see when they were done The calendar picker is just awesome You can make notes It is SIMPLE and EFFICIENT Thank you so much! I cannot wait to recommend this app to everyone I know.

  • Simply efficient and...
by mothtom on 2011-01-08 at 4:40 AM

Efficiently simple, nuff said. Try it, you wont be disappointed. I fell into the whole fancy, all the bells and whistles todo apps, but they were more difficult and time consuming than need be. As Mr. Hurst writes in the free e-book (available in ibooks) Bit Literacy, that time would be better spent actually doing the todos than making your list look all fancy.

  • I Cannot compete without it.
by dvdbrnds on 2011-01-05 at 4:25 PM

Read the book Bit Literacy - it is free in the ibook store. This app and the philosophy behind it will free you from your bits. Email, todo's Calendar etc... I love it and i cannot compete without it.

  • Great App
by Bill McKell on 2011-01-05 at 1:13 PM

This is really much better than a To Do List app. It's an Email productivity app. Good ToDo has made my life so much easier. I used to have tons of emails in my inbox and I never could be sure the right things were getting done. The Good ToDo productivity approach leaves my inbox empty and lets my Good ToDo app manage my priorities. I highly recommend this approach.

  • Life changing app
    by Arch357 on 2011-01-05 at 2:10 AM

When you couple Good Todo with your email inbox, your life WILL change. It's just the way things ought to be. You inbox will be empty at the end of each, and at the start of each day, you know exactly what to do. Not just a great app, it's a way of life that's simple, satisfying, and even somewhat spiritual.

  • Outstanding app!
by delyte on 2011-01-03 at 2:46 AM

Beautifully designed & user friendly. My favorite feature allows me to forward emails requiring action to a future date, getting them out of my inbox. This is a stress-reliever for sure!
