  • AMAZING! The BEST learning app we’ve come across
by NimmiFutch on May 29, 2022 at 6:21 am

My son is 4 years old. And with covid last year, I did NOT enroll him in pre-k. So SINCE then I’ve been on the hunt for a great app along with my flash cards and other items for teaching him myself. I can’t tell you HOW MANY apps I’ve downloaded and paid for that turned out to be nothing but games with 0 learning. He’s finally enrolled for school this year and I’m SOOOO thankful I stumbled across this app!! Seriously I’m just a week and a half my son now fully knows his alphabet - even started trying to sound out words when he sees them!! I cannot be more impressed with this app!! Thank you sooo much for helping this single Mom teach her baby🏆🏆🏆🏆🥇

  • So here are my reasons:
    by Ultimate111111 on May 28, 2022 at 12:33 am

Basically I am 11 years old, but I made 3 accounts in which the only options are from Pre-K or K, to 1st Grade. This makes me so upset and confused because I’m in the Sixth Grade. Please fix this Duolingo ABC!

  • Had to delete the app
by gabtser on May 18, 2022 at 10:11 am

For Duolingo being the #1 language learning app you would expect that their kids app would be in multiple languages… its not. I have been waiting 2 years for a Spanish version and still not even a glimpse of another language for kids. I was hoping that for such a big company they could push Spanish for kids as we are a bilingual family but dam such a disappointment.

  • Love the game…hate the update!
    by Felice238 on May 17, 2022 at 10:32 pm

The new levels that must be parent unlocked so the kiddos can hear the stories are frustrating. Before the update my daughter could play the game independently…now she’s locked out until I enter a code, can’t have more than one level open at a time & all her progress from before is gone. Very disappointed since at one point she was on this app 24/7 & was really learning.

  • Tired of a 5 yr old creating profiles!
by Jamocha 817 on April 25, 2022 at 12:46 am

My 5 yr old has figured out how to create extra profiles for no reason in his iPad. I get the alert at the end of the week about kids I have no idea about and have to delete them. Only for him to recreate them again an few weeks later. This is. It safe. And it should be addressed.

    by mollymurphym11 on April 22, 2022 at 1:52 am

  • Please make this in French and other languages for native English speakers!
    by MrKilla13 on April 21, 2022 at 10:56 pm

I’ve bee talking with my friends who are on the main Duolingo app and we all agree that if Duo made this to learn other languages we wouldnt’t just have out kids playing this, we would play it too! It’s a great app for English children to learn English so why not use it to teach people the fundamentals of other languages? If they did, I would be willing pay fees to play it.

  • Languages
by Dr Larken on April 18, 2022 at 8:32 pm

Is English the only language available to teach in this app!

  • I wish this was available on Windows not just for IPhone
by aztecadna on April 17, 2022 at 7:15 pm

How can I get this for windows please?

  • App has completely changed
    by Pianogal1863 on April 15, 2022 at 2:08 pm

My 3 and 4 year olds loved the game style of the app and now it is only a library of read aloud books. So sad.

  • Other languages?
    by 캐시💗 on April 14, 2022 at 11:49 pm

I was wondering if you have any other versions that teacher a child who know English, Korean my niece wants to learn Korean but it’s very hard for her with all the other apps that she can’t really understand. Or do you know any apps that teach Korean to someone who speaks English?

  • Amazing app for my kid

  • Learning so fast!!!!
    by 2011shoppingqueen on April 10, 2022 at 7:43 pm

I just got this game for my five year old sister and she loves it! I’ve been trying to get her to read since forever and now she’s reading her sight words and writing them. I can’t believe how fast she’s learning, in just a couple of hours she’s been able to recognize rhyming words like at and mat, and even larger words like monkey and turtle. And she’s reading mini books by using the pictures as inferences. Not only does she love this app, but I love it too! It’s so cool to see a little kid reading and writing so well. Thank you Duolingo!

  • Absolutely Fantastic, but add the stars back!!
by VideoVillain on April 4, 2022 at 1:46 pm

So my child has been using this app for 240 days in a row! She lives the app!! How do I know it’s been 240 days? Because she is so very excited to earn her star each day and we have a deal with her to get presents at milestones of 100, 200, and 365. She’s been looking forward to the extra big present at the end of a year of learning and yesterday and today after the resent update, she cried because all her stars (in her opinion all her hard work) is now gone. I am keeping track of the stars separately in notes instead, but we both really hope you guys add them back!! There was no reason to remove them at all, especially without anything to take it’s place. To be clear, we both love the new update, all except for the missing stars!!!

  • I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!
by JennaLeighHen on April 3, 2022 at 3:19 pm

My little brother is 4, and he can write his name. He loves doing his "schoolwork" with the rest of his siblings. I saw this app and thought it was worth a try. He LOVES IT SOOOOOO MUCH!!!! The first day he played on it for an hour! I asked him what sound letter "A" made and he got it right! I HIGHLY recommend getting this app!!!!

  • Me Brother loves it

This is the best learning app I’ve ever downloaded my brother has learned a lot with with this app he didn’t know how to spell his name now he does to any of the people that want their child to learn this is the app for you

  • Great free app!
by simplychelspea on March 30, 2022 at 1:39 am

If you are looking for an app to help teach your preschooler the alphabet, sight words, language comprehension, and phonics, then you’ve come to the right place! This app is free and they have interactive stories for language comprehension and teach kids letters, sight words, writing, and reading skills. My son loves getting to use my phone to play on this app. Thanks to the app, at the age of 3, he can already read several basic sight words. This will help him with learning to read in future years. Thanks Duolingo ABC!

  • We need an Android Version.
by Charles Anim on March 25, 2022 at 5:33 pm

This app is amazing on my iPhone but I need an android version. Most kids have android tablets and this could be very helpful to them. I don’t know if this is pure Swift/SwiftUI, but if it’s React Native app, please port to Android for us. Waiting for android version so all my kids can get on this asap. Thank you.

  • Una exelente app pero cuando estará disponible para android

    Cuando estará disponible para android

  • Suggestion
    by 0573468tgv on March 11, 2022 at 10:22 pm

This app works really well. So far there haven’t been any problems with it (bugs, crashing, etc.). My one recommendation is maybe put this into other languages. I think it would be nice if it were able to teach kids, especially small children, other languages in maybe an easier way then Duolingo normally does. The concept of the app itself could stay the same but instead of tracing English letters it could be Spanish, Korean, French, or anything else.

  • Miss the stars!
by bizzaregood on March 6, 2022 at 12:55 am

I love this app. My daughter enjoys it! After every redesign the levels get a little off, but why oh why did you take out the stars? We were up to 270+

  • Best app to help kids learn alphabet and their sound
    by Viola.212 on February 24, 2022 at 2:21 pm

This is the best app me and my kid tried to helm him start reading. Struggling parents like me appreciate all you do to help the kids which are the investment in our future. I appreciate that like other apps this is not just one trial or one level game then it becomes paid and I won’t even know if it works for my child or not. keep up the good work.

  • Unsafe
by Dnivradnivra on February 19, 2022 at 11:03 am

The content is fine/good, but the devs have loaded it up with visual trills and gamifications that are bad for such young kids (eg cartoon figures darting from corners to celebrate completions, etc)…app could have been engaging without going for the cheap endorphin rush

  • Jocelyn love 💗💓

  • Do not miss out if you have a child ages 3-6!
by Nikkocat on February 1, 2022 at 7:52 pm

I just downloaded Duo ABC for my kindergartener. She absolutely loves it! She and her older brother have started calling it “Babylingo,” and it is the cutest little kids educational app I’ve ever seen… and I’ve been doing baby apps for around a decade, lol. They asked for her age and her name, so she started on the letter M with the goal of reading and writing her full first name eventually. Because we put that she’s 5, the expectations were totally reasonable for her skill level. 10/10, absolutely recommend.

  • Amazing!
by Barbara Smith😜 on January 25, 2022 at 10:42 pm

My 3 year old son LOVES this game. He asks for my phone so he can play Duolingo abc. It teaches him letters, reading, writing, and shapes. He is very smart and I am proud of it. My friend Bethany wanted to know what he was playing and now her kid plays Duolingo abc all the time! This is a great app. I love it😍

  • NICE

  • Fun
    by Moreinaluv1 on January 16, 2022 at 3:01 pm

My child likes it. I like the content and the graphics. I would rather not teach sight words until after phonics is learned. I also wish this was in Spanish because it would be great for learning another language. My child is not reading yet to be able to use Duolingo.

  • Love this app
by CamilleElisabeth on January 15, 2022 at 3:15 am

I love this app. My daughter is 2 and she is learning how to sound out words! I just wish the app would become available on the Amazon tablet and androids so she could do it on other devices than my phone.

  • More languages please
    by anonreviewer17 on January 3, 2022 at 7:07 pm

This would be a great language learning tool for other languages as well. I’d love to see at least a trial run with some of the highest learned languages with Duolingo.

  • i love the app but

this app has really helped my daughter improve on her english but i also wish it had settings for other languages. i want to help my daughter improve on her second language french

  • More languages, please! (like Russian, etc.)
by nastunya on December 29, 2021 at 6:06 pm

I actually like the English version of the app but giving two stars because we’re waiting for other languages (specifically Russian, in our case, or Ukrainian, though we’re sure it will be a while until that’s available). French and Spanish are already available in the kids’ Duolingo app in Canada – why not in the US?

He is 3 and doing very well but can’t get past early first grade levels because he can’t speak. He’s done very well thus far and shouldn’t have to stop because of a lack of voice. Please help.

  • Mostly good
    by Abbynormal89 on December 11, 2021 at 12:48 pm

My son really enjoys this app and I like lots of things about it. My one issue is the voice recognition. He doesn’t get good practice reading words out loud because it will literally accept anything as answer. Half the time he says “What’s that, mommy?” And before I can explain it it says it’s correct and moves on. One thing that might solve the problem is if it would pause and wait for you to hit a button before you were ready to record.

  • Incredibly awesome app
    by ecw1339 on December 9, 2021 at 6:13 pm

This app basically taught our son to read. He loved it so much he did the whole course 3 times over. His only complaint: Duo does not celebrate at the end of level 8
