  • Dark mode please
by luxefleur on July 6, 2022 at 5:17 am

Love this app but the only time I can immerse myself into it is right before bed but it’s not easy to stay focused with the bright white light. Please allow for a dark mode option. Thanks for a great app.

  • What’s the price?
by Tomeaux on July 5, 2022 at 2:18 pm

Apps that avoid talking about the price until you download …. tick me off. Apple should at least let me delete this crap from my app cloud as being something i have. Never launched as after download during set up i discovered the $9 per month price.

  • NOT a free app.
    by JW10018 on July 4, 2022 at 2:37 pm

It says “In app purchases” which usually means it’s free but you can pay for a premium service. Not so here. Deceptive advertising, it is a forced subscription. You get on free quick chapter and then you hit a paywall. Seems cool but no, I don’t like the deception.

  • More Productive
    by C5FIVE on July 4, 2022 at 2:01 pm

I enjoy browsing social media on my phone but often get wrapped up in useless topics and find that feel frustrated or angry from what I read. Lucid is a productive way to spend my time.

  • Often buggy and frozen, but nice when it works
by marykylem on June 29, 2022 at 3:06 am

I would be tolerant of some bugs in a free app, but I’m paying for the subscription and haven’t been able to use the app in a couple days because it’s frozen when I open it. Prior to this, the daily quiz doesn’t always appear and there isn’t a good way to find it in the app. Often, to keep reading a book I started, I have to dig back through my library to find it, because it disappears from the home page. Many of the book contents are nice ways to get the gist of the idea - kind of like watching a 20 minute synopsis presentation of the book. Lots of popular nonfiction books available. They don’t cover all of the key takeaways you would get if you read the actual book, but if you’re interested there’s a link to the full book at the end of each one in the app.

by ravenrarii on June 26, 2022 at 1:07 am

I got charged for a full year of this app for $100 without my knowledge. I had a free trial that was supposed to expire tomorrow but they charged me a day early WITHOUT WARNING. IF YPU ARE READING THIS GIVE ME MY MONEY BACK. There is absolutely no contact information or even any information about them at all online. There’s no customer service for me to contact to get my money back. This is unbelievable and I am livid.

  • Cool
by Sean Brierty on June 24, 2022 at 10:36 pm

  • Scam
by avastmitty on June 23, 2022 at 4:00 pm

They say they will email you to remind you before the free trial expires, but they don’t. They just charge you for an annual subscription instead. Luckily Apple agreed and refunded my purchase. The app does not have a lot of content anyways, would not recommend.

  • Great app, limited audience
    by epicks13 on June 23, 2022 at 1:11 am

This app is really cool and I was excited to explore it. I knew without a subscription my experience would be limited however it’s impossible to not buy the subscription which is over $15 a month. You can read the first chapter (2 minutes worth) of any book. Super disappointing because there’s not much to absorb. I WISH they had a student plan because as a full time college student I can’t afford $15 a month just to read when a library is free.

  • Fantastic except for the icon
    by cs31415 on June 22, 2022 at 1:45 am

Fantastic in every way. The only complaint is that the icon doesn’t do the app justice. It just looks bad on my Home Screen. How can the app itself be a work of art but the app icon so ordinary?

  • Download it now and enjoy
by cunharaf on June 20, 2022 at 12:43 pm

I have been using the app to refresh the learnings and content of books that I have already read. It does not eliminate the importance of reading the whole book however it reinforces key messages. It is a complimentary service. I strongly recommend downloading it.

  • Lame and overpriced
by Lunarnosreem on June 20, 2022 at 1:04 am

It’s just picture books. Texts with little semi-animated pictures. It said it was like Duolingo but for topics like history, but Duolingo uses multiple methods to teach you - listening, speaking, writing, reading and interactive lessons. If I could learn well by reading, I would just pick up a book. Additionally, the topics are really trendy. So it’s more for reading up on things people might mention at a dinner party or work than actual core knowledge. Not what I was hoping for.

  • App keeps telling me to buy a subscription when I already have one
by Please Free Dobby on June 16, 2022 at 6:25 am

Then the App Store says I already have a subscription. I can’t read any of the content. Fix this or I am asking for an entire refund.

  • Buggy from First Use
    by cocoloco73 on June 15, 2022 at 3:00 pm

Too pointed for anyone lacking critical thought. Couldn’t open second “book”. You lost me after one use.

  • Would be great if it worked
by josephinevl on June 13, 2022 at 5:07 pm

Loving the app so far - when it’s working. I’m on the monthly subscription, and it keeps blocking my access and offering me an annual subscription. I’ve tried a bunch of things but it keeps happening. Very disruptive, and there doesn’t seem to be any way to contact support!

  • Excellent content but can use UI/ UX improvements
by Pvynwa on June 10, 2022 at 12:48 pm

Thank you team for putting together this wonderful nuggets of lessons and learnings. You have truly made consuming this content fun and more likely for my memory to retain. I wish to see the following UX improvements if you can: 1. Responsiveness of the app to iPad landscape mode - Why? There is a segment of people who like to read information/ books like how they read a regular book. Also deciding weather to hold the iPad vertically or horizontally is the first decision a user makes and it’s important to not make them revise their decision because the app is not responsive. 2. Ability to save the nuggets offline- I often read when I’m in the plane (like many) when there is no network. It is disappointing that lucid doesn’t download the whole nugget so it’s a wasted opportunity when you can gain some “hrs” from the user on your app 3. Getting to know the person who summarized/ visualized the key ideas- A little intro about the person and the ability to thank them for putting together a wonderful nugget will go a long way in keeping the user value each nugget more and your team appreciated.

  • No free option
    by 4115steve on June 8, 2022 at 10:23 pm

You have to pay monthly or yearly to use the app.

  • Questionable content
by apxah on June 8, 2022 at 8:24 am

Didn’t like the racist, woke material.

  • Woke liberal learning platform
by Hermetics on June 6, 2022 at 1:52 am

I would stay away from this platform it’s filled with woke nonsense if you start looking a little deeper you’ll find Ibram Kendi exes racist books in here.

  • Ground breaking app
by Daniel Hack858 on June 5, 2022 at 4:57 am

This app changes the way books and knowledge is consumed and retained. This app is amazing!

  • No
    by Hops&Dice on June 4, 2022 at 10:03 pm

I was excited and wanted to like this app. The first thing it recommended I learn about was NFTs. I have now deleted the app. NFTs are horrible for the environment and that being the first recommendation tells me this app isn’t for me. Thanks.

  • Dark mode please…
by Do It Now on June 4, 2022 at 8:44 am

I read at night & this app has no dark mode which makes it unusable.

  • Lies
    by Akcatlady16 on June 3, 2022 at 6:22 pm

If your want the free trial, don’t. It charges you immediately. Sincerely, Annoyed

  • Easy to Remember
    by beth971 on June 3, 2022 at 4:51 am

I can’t read books but reading in this app is so simple for me and fun! I’ll read short articles on the internet all the time for whatever I want to learn about but this makes it more interesting. Best app I’ve ever paid for.

  • Awesome for learning, awesome for book previewing
by jdrmn on June 2, 2022 at 3:15 pm

Great high level summaries to learn the concepts and move on, or also a great way to preview books before deciding which books to read!

  • This app is the best, so far
    by Diddycock2337 on June 2, 2022 at 3:36 am

Though I’ve only read one chapter, I’ve never been so glued to a book in my life. The puctures help you s stay focused, and don’t give you the overwhelming page of words. The ideas are short and sweet, and you even get wuestions afterwards to make sure you understand. Downloading this was byfar one of the best decisions in my life

  • Not free at all, super expensive
by C Bearhugs on May 28, 2022 at 6:30 pm

They take you through this long questionnaire and then the last question is, “do you want to pay $99 now or more in installments?” Don’t list you app as free if it’s not.

  • Great for ADD readers
    by Hillie52 on May 28, 2022 at 3:28 pm

I have inattentive ADD and it is SO hard for me to read books and meditate. So when I saw this app I thought I'd try it since it's got neat subjects.....anyway thanks to the developers for inadvertently helping ADD people everywhere learn about different self care and existential things!!

  • Worst Paid App of All Time
by Will E. Coyote on May 28, 2022 at 12:16 pm

Complete and utter waste of money.

  • Can’t open the app
by The serious app reviewer on May 26, 2022 at 2:36 pm

Uninstalled. Reinstalled. Turned phone on and off. App just crashes on opening.

  • Crashes Constantly
by ComJim on May 26, 2022 at 6:11 am

The app crashes constantly and doesn’t work…

  • My favorite app
    by 221bbb on May 25, 2022 at 9:06 pm

I never write reviews, but I just had to come on here and rave about Lucid. I love learning, I’m a creative and very visual person, and also I have ADHD. Lucid is an absolute dream. Lucid communicates such digestible and enjoyable content, I have to remind myself to slow down and let the information I just learned sink in and process before moving onto a new subject! From practical learning to philosophical and everything in between, I absolutely love learning with Lucid. I have already started taking some of what I’ve learned and incorporated it into my work every day and wow, I just can’t say enough good things about this app. If you love learning and have very diverse interests but never enough time to learn about all of them, this is the perfect app for you. Also premium is worth the money if you can swing it. It’s the best subscription I’m paying for right now.

  • Great app
    by Caldy602 on May 23, 2022 at 3:51 am

Great summary app. Love the visual learning.

  • Some good stuff but a limited amount, strong left leaning slants
by wishtheydidntruinthisapp on May 22, 2022 at 5:01 pm

Some of the articles and courses are well done - but there just isn’t that many of them. Also, there is a pretty strong left wing slant to all the articles I’ve read so far, so if that bothers you, I’d stay away. Overall not worth the hefty price tag.

  • I’m a fan
by sweetaypetay on May 22, 2022 at 2:43 am

I have to say, I really like this. I find I get lost in Blinkist or Flipboard, rarely really diving in deep to any one article. But these grabbed me. Would be a great way to teach kids, too. (Essentially what I’m saying I think is that I learn like a kid:)

  • You can’t cancel
by TraumaRNEejh on May 19, 2022 at 3:21 am

I downloaded this app with a free trial. I canceled the free trial as there just wasn’t enough content. I even got an email asking to write about why I cancelled. I just got charged $100. NOT COOL!!

  • Charged me $99
    by =Densa= on May 17, 2022 at 10:27 pm

Charged me $99 and I was too late to reverse it. Not very happy about that.

  • Just a disguised data collection agency.
    by @liltoy on May 16, 2022 at 12:11 am

Free to download but not free to use and they’ll only tell you that after collecting your information. A Public Library card is only $3 and you’ll interact with real humans and intellectual minds.

  • Lucid is nice, but 80% of it you have to pay.
by svnxhaalo on May 15, 2022 at 8:58 pm

I love Lucid- I thought it was a great app. I was reading happily, and then when I went to read the next chapter of a book, it asked for me to pay. This happened with every book I opened. I love this app, but you can’t do anything without it asking for you to pay.

  • Deceptive about cost
    by Chandler1233 on May 11, 2022 at 9:17 pm

This has you fill out several screens before letting you know it costs $100 a year

  • Languajes
by wealthybiboy on May 10, 2022 at 1:09 am

    Spanish please 😍😍😍

  • Scam!!! Do NOT use the free trial
    by CommanderMaeve813 on May 8, 2022 at 7:51 pm

I signed up for the free trial and was charged for a $99 YEAR subscription 7 days later and have yet to hear back from customer service about getting a refund. I know all apps try to scam people like that but seriously, one year? If you have to squeeze money out of people like that bill them for a month.

  • Free? Not at all!
by Patricia Libertatum on May 8, 2022 at 7:16 pm

The only thing you can do for free here is download the app. They say you can try it for free for seven days, but if you do then you have to go back and cancel or you’ll get charged $99 for a year. They also have a $15.99 a month choice, but I can’t seem to select that one to try the free week and based on the many bad reviews here I’m not going to attach my payment info unless I can see screenshots and examples from the site. Most apps give a truly “free” trial of some sort before you have to pay: you can usually see or try some limited aspect of the product. Not this one. As an educator I was interested in the app for possible education related applications, but am not hooking it to my payment methods without so much as seeing one example of the product. Very sketchy that I cannot Google this app and come up with any screenshots or examples or videos to show me what I would be buying given its very high price tag! I expect something on the level of or audible or Amazon prime for this kind of price tag and can’t see any evidence that it is this. Deleted app already…

  • scam
by the most funn on May 5, 2022 at 2:08 am

Downloaded this app, saw that a subscription was required and deleted it. never created an account. the next day - $110 gone from bank account. it is virtually IMPOSSIBLE to cancel and/or reach the developer to get a refund. there is no free trial or option to decline the subscription after app download.

  • No Way to Cancel During 7-Day Trial
    by kathleeeeen123 on May 4, 2022 at 4:09 am

I didn’t receive an email when I signed up for the trial or a reminder email when the trial was about to end. I tried canceling 2 days into the trial. However, when I followed the instructions in the app for managing my subscription by going through my phone settings, the app wasn’t even listed under my subscriptions. In fact, it’s still not listed even though I was just charged $99 for an annual subscription that I had no way to avoid. Feel like I got scammed.

  • This app is NOT FREE
by soupsnakes on April 26, 2022 at 8:17 pm

You will spend 10 minutes creating a profile and answering questions only to reach a paywall $$$$$

  • Disappointing
    by Degal0x on April 26, 2022 at 10:46 am

Super neat idea; executed poorly. For the price you would expect a wider variety of content and the ability for more complex breakdowns. While being able to get the gist it seemed like many important parts/points of the work were glossed over or misinterpreted.

  • Great app but where’s the search?
by Dvbrar on April 26, 2022 at 2:08 am

Come on guys. No search option. You guys send us emails about the new add but when we go to the app there is no way to find that title.

  • Audio Is unlistenable
by Everett “The Machine" on April 25, 2022 at 8:46 pm

First of all I like the idea of the app and the visual guides are really nice, but the audio versions are unlistenable. For some reason the start of each sentence is clipped. It sounds like the audio fader was not up when the narrator was beginning to read. It’s frustrating to listen to. If this issue was fixed I’d have this app forever.

  • Love this app!!!
by KikiLaverne on April 24, 2022 at 6:27 pm

I love this app! I used it constantly during the trial period! I gained so much from it- feel better informed and confident.
