  • Needs Conjugation exercises
by Varguennes on June 26, 2022 at 1:29 pm

I have been using Mango Languages for a few years now and I really like how it builds sentences but i think it would be much better if there were conjugation exercises. Please think about adding.

  • Mango is amazing
    by AGB1234567891011121314 on June 23, 2022 at 2:09 pm

Mango is one of the best language apps I have ever came across. It it add free and it gives you culture notes and side facts along the way. Best of all, you can do a voice icon to see how closely your voice relates to the speakers. It also teaches you how to pronounce the words and gives you the literal and figurative meaning. Mango is the BEST!!!!

  • Great App! But a few issues
by thisisdia on June 19, 2022 at 10:35 pm

    1. Please add a dark mode because the white screen is so bad for my already sensitive eyes 2. More languages should be considered free to learn like spanish

  • Practical
    by jsneil72 on June 19, 2022 at 8:21 am

Mango is so practical. I love using it to learn new useful phrases and how to pronounce them well. The cultural tidbits are awesome too! One of my favorite ways to use Mango is by just using the audio in the car or while I’m doing something that doesn’t require a lot of brainpower.

  • So far so good (learning German)
    by Iceman639 on June 13, 2022 at 2:18 am

I really like the setup of this application, there’s a chance to compare your voice to a native speaker. Hearing the speed and tone of speech is wonderful! I also noticed there are recall questions in between the lessons as well that are simple, but help to make sure you’re paying attention lol. I’ll update my response and reaction about the application in 3 months. This and other tools should help me on my journey towards fluency! Try it for yourself, it’s not bad. -Justice E.

  • To learn a foreign language
by The curious mind on June 10, 2022 at 1:52 pm

I finally found the best language program to learn a foreign language, right now, I am learning Spanish and French, this Mango program can teach you to learn a foreign language in your own pace, if you are talented, you can master a second language very quick, if not, learn it at your own pace. If you forgot something, you can always go back to learn it again. This Mango program is amazing, it teaches you to learn each French word precisely, how to say and pronounce it just like a native French, so you can learn how to speak each word precisely, how to spell each word exactly, you also learned why some special word is related to the French and Spanish culture. And finally, the best way to learn a foreign language is to study it everyday until you master it! There is no short cut! Once you master this Mango program, you will have a solid base to speak French, Spanish, or another language faster and better and you will surprise your family and friends, also when you travel, you will appreciate the Mango program!

  • Great Product
by HolyOreo on May 26, 2022 at 10:51 pm

I started learning Japanese in February and finding quality resources was difficult at first. I didn’t enjoy Duolingo for Japanese, as I had with Spanish, thus I turned to Mango with my local library. I immediately felt that I was making huge amounts of progress, I mean I was soaring through lessons and retaining a lot of information. I felt that my grasp had tightened and I started adding a tutor and textbook to my routine, alongside Anki. This was turning out to be a functional system, or so I had thought. However, the unforeseen monster had shown its ugly face 🫣 the review system for Mango had begun to throw 70-120 reviews all at once! 😳 This really slowed down my learning process and completely turned me off the app for awhile as it didn’t seem manageable. I was spending more time in review than I was in lessons! This was partially my fault, as I was flying through the lessons; however, I felt that this was a HUGE issue for me with the app. RECENTLY, a feature was added to control the amount of reviews and this was a GODSEND! It’s the reason that I am writing this review! I will probably adjust the review to 5-Stars in the near future, but I want to play around with the new system to see if it resolved the issue entirely or not first!

  • Best App!
by iveneverreviewedbefore on May 18, 2022 at 12:26 pm

I love this app. It’s the best language app that I’ve found - and it’s free through my library! Libraries live and die on data, so I know that every time I use it, it’s contributing to someone else having access. Mango is so much better than duolingo. With Duolingo, I was having to learn how to say ‘apple’ over and over again. It was hard to progress to words I would actually need to use. Mango goes straight into conversation. You can pick where to start and what to skip. As a librarian, I very much appreciate the “Spanish for librarians.” It makes me feel more confident in speaking w library patrons. Also - you can learn how to speak ‘pirate’ - evidence of how human the app creators are!

  • Not intuitive

  • Great conversational way to learn languages
by Cinnamon Panda on May 8, 2022 at 10:35 pm

I’m lucky to have this access to this app from my library (and maybe you do too) so I logged in with my credentials via my library website and I was off to the races! This app does a much better job than Rosetta Stone in explaining word pronunciation and context, and has a nifty “record and compare” feature that sees if your attempt at saying something matches the native speaker’s version. It also goes over daily reviews and lessons so you don’t forget what you covered previously. Best of all, I get this great app for free (library again) and even though I also have access to Rosetta too through my library, I choose this app first. Thanks!

  • Good
    by Alexduran24 on May 5, 2022 at 1:39 am

It’s definitely overpriced, not that I’m complaining, because I got it for free from the library. As for the content, it’s really good. Sometimes the content can get repetitive, repeating the same sentences over and over, but I like that there is a daily review feature so that you can challenge your brain with things you learned in the past. A great app overall, it helped me learn French.

  • Love this app!
by pinkfencer on April 30, 2022 at 1:10 pm

Learning Mandarin from scratch right now and this is the best app of several I’ve tried. It breaks things down with easy to follow exercises, naturally including grammar notes to learn as you go. Intuitive quizzes also make it easy to learn vocabulary. And lesson introductions give an overview of what you will accomplish by the end of the lesson so you know what to look forward too. You can get a free subscription through many organizations (libraries and other community clubs) - just check out the Mango website to see what in your area can help with that. I’ve been recommending it to all my friends! It also tracks the time you’ve spent per language which is neat. Happy language learning!

  • 5 Star Language APP- MANGO!
by Persheca on April 26, 2022 at 9:09 pm

Any time of day, my phone brings Mango lessons to me- not just any lessons!- A friendly American English speaker presents grammatical and cultural information like a tour guide while a native speaker inserts the correct pronunciation of words used from the language I’m learning. The interactive instruction offers the opportunity to record my pronunciation and compare it with a native speaker’s. The methodology is so good , it is almost impossible to forget whatI’ve learned! Helpful quizzes remind me of my progress . Thanks to Mango’s team for making language learning available through public libraries. I’ve shared this opportunity with many people . I am grateful to those whose efforts have produced and presented the material in the Mango App- wonderful work: gift to all of us who wish to speak another language(s)!

  • I love this language App!!!
by Thoukata on April 17, 2022 at 9:02 am

I am currently taking Spanish right now, and let me tell ya, this app makes it so much easier to learn and retain than my previous experience years ago with Rosetta Stone and the classes I took in College.

  • Great for Biblical Hebrew!
by juszplayiin on April 17, 2022 at 1:03 am

This is a wonderful app for language learning. It makes understanding Hebrew grammar very easy with the color coded fonts and explanations. I wish there were more lessons for the Biblical Hebrew, but I’m only beginning and I’ll probably jump to Modern Hebrew after, as it has more lessons. Also, I love the free languages, some of those look fun too. For Devs: The review cards are great, but for me it’s a lot of vocabulary to absorb. Could you add a card set of all the words to study—separately? That would help a lot as I’m getting the basic grammar structure down (thanks to Mango) but struggling with vocab.

    by Corey24 on March 15, 2022 at 1:20 pm

I have access to this language learning app through my workplace. It is a fantastic application. I love the grammar notes in between sections, the acknowledgement of regionalisms, and the ability to compare your speech to a native speakers. The language selection is enormous. However, I would love to learn some basics of more indigenous languages like Nahuatl. Hopefully that can be added in the future.

  • Lacking in certain areas
by otherrick on March 5, 2022 at 1:46 pm

If you want to go back and study a certain word or phrase in a previously completed lesson, it's basically impossible without scrolling through every single slide or remembering where the word was out of thousands of slides. Not useful at all and incredibly frustrating.

  • Best language app I’ve tried
by dontlikenicknames on February 18, 2022 at 2:33 pm

I stumbled on this language app accidentally because a subscription is available for free through my library. (Can’t beat that price.) I was expecting it to be mediocre, but I was shocked to discover that it’s the best one out there. I’ve used Rosetta Stone, Pimsleur, and Babel, which are all very good, but nothing I’ve used compares to Mango.

  • Favorite language app
    by Dc197 on February 15, 2022 at 4:29 am

I’ve tried many language learning apps and this has been my favorite by far. The number of repetitions and the review feature are brilliant for keeping things in long term memory. The rate at which grammar and vocab are introduced is just right. I highly recommend it.

  • I have a small request.
    by Josgar24 on February 9, 2022 at 5:47 pm

At the end of a lesson, when they are having a conversation in the Target Language, I would like to be able to see the whole conversation on the screen WHILE they playing the AUDIO of the conversation, instead of just being able to follow along with the flashcards. Is there a way this can be made an option in the near future? Thank you for your time.

  • Could use a few more features
by Chess beats Facebook on February 8, 2022 at 6:53 pm

Returned to Spanish after a hiatus and realized there’s no way to reset your review function if you need to go back and relearn. Therefore even if you want to return to the beginning, the app has you review all the way up to the more advance level. A grammar and vocabulary reference would also be nice. So instead of just learning the vocabulary that’s presented in the exercises (e.g. winter) there’s a reference with all the vocabulary for that theme (e.g seasons). The tool could be a lot more.

  • Memorize this!
by TeacherAnnaUWA on February 8, 2022 at 4:01 pm

This application teaches you how to speak a foreign language by repeatedly reviewing the same phrases again and again so that you don’t have to think; it just comes out naturally. I like also that it tells you what you are going to learn, teaches you , then reviews what you just learned. At first you think “how in the world does any one understand all that so fast?” But after the lesson is completed one thinks “I understood everything! “

  • A affective and fun way to learn
by Aabossrun on January 29, 2022 at 2:06 pm

I started wanting to learn Japanese a while back and decided I would use Duolingo. Duolingo is a very popular language learning app and is considered to be a great tool, except I don't feel the same. It takes the language learning aspect into more of a quiz format and almost like a game with ranking and what not. Which seems fine at first but it makes you want to skip the learning entirely after a bit and it feels too repetitive when trying to drill things. Along with a ton of adds and a disappointing heart system I could not take it seriously. Then I found mango through my Library. Mango feels fresh and authentic. It drills things in without feeling annoying and is very enjoyable. I like how they give you culture notes, grammar, and the different ways to review and quiz. It has a massive library of languages and takes things slowly but progressively to make for a worthwhile experience. It is easy to use and fun for all. I look forward to its future and what it will offer. Thank you very much Mango.

  • Interesting lessons, useful for travelers.
by flsiadjflasijdfolasijfdolasijf on January 25, 2022 at 10:30 pm

Repeated drills help to lock in the words and phrases. But not boring. Enough variety and progress. Nice to have grammar notes and cultural notes. Really enjoyed using this app.

  • Mango Languages is my go-to app for learning a new language
by BrianKung on January 23, 2022 at 9:57 pm

For adult learners, I will always suggest Mango Languages to start with over anything else. I’ve used it to learn Korean enough to tell a taxi driver how to navigate before I went to South Korea and used it to bootstrap my Mandarin Chinese, which I now use daily. Mango Languages is a language learning app that gets you to a high degree of fluency albeit in limited situational contexts. But those contexts are really useful! It teaches you to ask for things, ask what things mean, how to get places, etc., and it really helps you feel comfortable in the language rather than just memorizing vocabulary. It’s based on the Pimsleur method, but the app adds slides which are really helpful. I highly recommend checking your local library to see if they have it as an electronic resource!

  • A Fantastic Tool to Jumpstart Language Proficiency
by iRevvy on January 15, 2022 at 5:16 pm

I’ve been using Mango Languages for about a year now, and I’ll say one thing: it’s a contender for being the most practical language learning app on the market. I have some caveats, but generally speaking, Mango Languages is a solid app if you want to learn a language efficiently. It’s the only app that uses collocations as the basis for learning a new language; this is arguably the best way to learn most languages, especially a language that works similarly to your native. While I love this app and use it daily, there are some things with the app that I think need improvements. (1) I would like to have custom review sessions available as part of the review system. In addition, there should be a stats menu where you can view any relevant data regarding your reviews. (2) Grammar and cultural notes should have a separate location aside from being in the lessons. (3) Flashcards should be more accessible, such as having a search feature to look for specific flashcards you want to learn. (4) We should be able to edit the contents of our flashcards, honestly. I sometimes find myself confused with certain cards either because of their structure or the way they translate. (5) There should be more assessments for speaking and listening, and even exercises to further practicing. (6) This relates to the review system: we should be able to delete flashcards we don’t want to learn, and it seems like you can only do that AFTER mastering it. People should be able to delete flashcards whenever they want and have the option to re-add them whenever they want.

  • BEST language app!!
by ihate technology on January 8, 2022 at 4:16 pm

Marhaba, Bonjour, and hello! I absolutely LOVE this app!! I have wanted to learn Arabic since I was a little girl. My mom has tried to find me things over the years but nothing was even close to my family’s dialect. Mango has four different Arabic languages and my family’s is one of them! I love the embedded region facts 🙂 I’ve also played around with French, Spanish, and Italian. I like the option to have up to 6 members in one subscription (five in addition to you). My husband has been able to learn with me but on his own time as well as his own languages. I love the pre and post tests to see how much you’ve learned. Love the chapter recaps; they’re great for review and practice! And I love the auto play option so I can multitask and/or learn on the go. As for learning, the repetition is awesome. Words have really been drilled into my head and I actually remember them. I barely remember my high school Spanish! Learning a character language, I love the English phonetics especially when doing quizzes. I started French on Duolingo and they end up holding spelling against you. I’m not looking to read and write fluently in any language so I love that Mango is focused on speaking and listening with reading as an option, not requirement. That said, learning a character language, it might be helpful to have an option for an initial lesson on the alphabet and the sounds. There have been words that sound SO similar as feminine and masculine that I still don’t hear the difference lol. Something else I would love to have is the ability to add the app to CarPlay since the app has the auto play option. Also, it might be helpful (if possible) if the lessons within the chapters had some kind of label. I’ve wanted to look for specific words to go back to and have had to go through multiple lessons to find it. O, and as things get updated and content added or changed, maybe some kind of notification so I could go back to those lessons and see/learn the new stuff. Bottom line, absolutely excellent app and DEFINITELY recommend!!

  • I would find something negative BUT...
    by SkyHusky420 on January 6, 2022 at 9:28 pm

As much as I don’t wanna tell people about this app, I genuinely can’t help it. Mango makes it hella easy to learn. Back in high school, I had taken language classes. But I had no initiative to actually learn it. Couldn’t care less. However, after signing up for a library card, I found this cool program. Very meticulous, and you must be willing of course, but if you want to find a new language there’s plenty here. Enjoy it, with an opened mind, learning couldn’t be easier.

  • Solid app for more developed languages
by frankenbobo on December 30, 2021 at 5:49 am

This is a great immersive app especially for more common languages. For some of the less requested tongues, it is quite limited, but for the bigger ones i have tried it has been most useful, with a solid plan for introducing new concepts and vocabulary that makes one feel comfortable with the basics. Only wish is it were more iterative in the lessons rather than just the review function, but there does have to be a balance between introducing new material and weaving in that which one has learned and on the whole this strikes said balance nicely. Can only hope that the app developers will expand their offerings further with additional modules for less well known languages.

  • Mango is great
by Cap pac on December 29, 2021 at 7:10 am

This app is great - I’m using it to learn French. The app uses a unit / lesson construct which allows you to select specific topics for lessons (which some of the other language apps do not), so if for example you need a crash course on asking directions or money/currency you can go there immediately. It also has v cool features - eg you to see each French word phonetically which for an English speaking native is very important.
