  • Maps too limited
by Pellzer T. on 2021-02-07 at 10:56 AM

I downloaded PainScale because I really liked how they have preset areas you can tap, plus a 1-10 scale with descriptions that correlate to colors on the body map, and also the different types of pain. This is such a great thing. Unfortunately, I find the abdomen and lower back preset regions to be too limiting. I’m trying to track my endometriosis pains so I can more easily find when it is something else. For example, I didn’t realize I had a kidney stone because I thought my ureter pain was just a new ache. I know many women with endometriosis take awhile to spot apendicitis too. It would be near perfect if there was an expanded abdomen chart.

It’s a very rare/unknown about disorder and I really appreciate that they have it. Also helps me track my pain and activity and everything and show me how they corriste so I can see possible triggers or worsening of my syndrome.

  • Not perfect but getting pretty close.
by TMinFL on 2021-01-08 at 12:29 AM

This is the first app that I found which I saw enough value to start really using on a daily basis. This one could work well. Support has been >24 hours, and on the mark. Fingers are crossed.

  • Easiest, most efficient pain management app
    by 100100100101011 on 2020-11-08 at 12:33 PM

I have suffered from “brain pain”, daily, since my craniotomy in 2016. Being able to easy and efficiently document my daily pain is difficult with migraines and sever pain from... something!?! It has been 1 week and so far this app has done everything I need it to to record my daily pain levels. I am very excited to show my doc the file that is sent which is very informative and I hope will help me in the long run. I have already passed it on to a few people and will continue to do so. Best pain management app I have used. PainScale! Keep up the awesome work. You are helping me and countless others work towards a better healthy life and you should be proud of what you’ve accomplished here.

  • Exactly What I Needed & Been Searching For...
by Coeur de Parisienne on 2020-08-26 at 7:18 PM

So I have to keep track of my cancer pain. It’s in my bones among other areas in my body. My pain management dr needs to understand the issues better than my brain dead answers the day I see her give. This app takes care of everything about the pain records I need to keep. It goes into great detail so that I may have the answers directly bob hand. During this pandemic, when my Drs appts are strictly done by video, this is perfect so that I can have the info right at my fingertips. It also helps when my wife needs to understand how bad it is for each day and understand when the breakthrough pain takes control and I need to seek emergency care. This is an amazing app. It should be shouted from the rooftops to help all suffering from any pain.

  • Good, and two types of Body Mapping
by LovelyLyndaK on 2020-08-03 at 5:32 PM

I found if you click the three dots in the right corner, you have a more detailed body map. I’ve updated my review because I am happy with the body mapping. It also would be nice if the side of the figure match my side of the body. Instead, my right is left on the figure. Overall, I am excited to have a new pain journal app, since my old one was discontinued a few years ago, and quite frankly a lot more complicated than this one. But I feel I need the extra details, such as are shown in the preview.

  • Best Free Pain Tracker Out There
by Ginny Beans on 2020-07-29 at 2:01 PM

I’ve tried using other pain tracking apps (even paid for a few), none of them have been as detailed as this. It is easy to use and the data collection is excellent. I have a difficult time expressing the severity of my pain to my doctors. This app is a must if you have chronic pain, with or without a diagnosis. The suggestions for managing your type of pain is so helpful. I especially appreciate the reminders for tracking, I always forgot to keep my logs with other apps and then couldn’t be specific during my check ups. This allows my doctors to have insight on my conditions activity. Living in pain is difficult, but with this app you don’t have to feel alone. Thank you for this app it has changed my life.

  • Great app. Tracks when & why of the pain
by Pmauriel on 2020-07-23 at 11:09 PM

Have been using since January 2020. Make log entry morning & evening, & in between if necessary.

  • Perfect for managing pain
by BinkWills on 2020-04-20 at 9:30 AM

This app is exactly what I was looking for. My Dr wanted me to keep a journal but I never knew what exactly to say. This app guides you with journaling your pain on a daily.

  • Best Pain Tracking App Ever!!!
    by IlliniMom66 on 2020-03-05 at 12:31 AM

The title says it all...the app is very easy to set up with personal info, info about your activity level and pain levels...there’s even a medication reminder for those times when brain fog settles in...great videos regarding an assortment of items (visualization, breathing, chair exercises, meditation, etc.), place for journaling...so why are still reading?!? Download and discover how great it is for yourself!

  • Sad to need this, but very helpful.

Very well designed and organized. Great articles and resources. You can even log your food!! Great tool to take to your doctor.

  • Perfect app for logging and understanding pain
    by 19MES79 on 2020-02-28 at 12:16 PM

What I love about this app: - can log as many times during the day as you want - you can sync Fitbit and your zip code- provides insight as to now activity, sleep, and weather affect your pain - very ease to use pain scale, that makes sense

  • Makes one feel less alone.
by Meggy moo moo mama pajama on 2020-02-19 at 11:40 PM

From the logging to the articles to the interface of the app, this is a positive addition to a circumstance I previously believed had only negative aspects.

  • Wonderful app!
by Chi-town Dog Trainer on 2020-02-13 at 12:20 PM

This app has been wonderful and helpful in providing my healthcare provider with day to day insight into my progress. Easy to use log, easy to send reports, and more reliable than my memory. Would recommend to anyone looking to gain perspective on their day to day progress.

  • Wonderful and very helpful
by RauchMindBodyTherapy on 2020-01-31 at 9:55 PM

I work with chronic pain for myself and as an LPC who specializes in managing chronic pain. This app is fantastic! I wish we could micro adjust body parts and add feelings but in all actuality l, this app has 99% of what I’d want to keep track of pain. The statistics they provide are also very useful. I haven’t followed their mediations yet but look forward to that and their helpful tips. If you have chronic pain, this app will help you track your triggers, moods, and treatments as well as what hurt when. If you can track your pain you can be forgiving to yourself and even plan your life better!

  • Excellent app
by heidilogic on 2020-01-29 at 12:12 PM

This is exactly what I needed to track the pain I have with my neck. The app tracks a huge range of things to help me really identify where the pain is coming from and how it is effecting my life. The detailed body map helps give me a visual on what I am experiencing so I can talk with my healthcare team. I am so happy I found this app! Thank you!

  • So Glad I Found It
by Westfield Owl on 2020-01-28 at 12:04 AM

This is a wonderful app! It gives me the opportunity to record data on a daily basis, alerting me to trends both good and bad. Also, there are lots of informational articles, many of which apply to my situation. The title says it all!

  • A documentation life saver
by Big D'Rilla on 2020-01-24 at 4:51 AM

Perfect for veterans, caregivers, active duty to document their health issues in order to effectively report to claims examiners, etc. This is a tool that will help with keeping a journal that may prevent a crisis when dealing with IDES, MEB’s or PEB’s for active duty and VBA, VA for veterans. They know that a service member is more likely than not to be damaged during and after service but will operate as if it were not the case.

  • Information is helpful

The articles that this app provides are helpful and not loaded with endless piles of junk.

  • Great app
by Bobby 4100 on 2020-01-17 at 1:44 PM

My doctor wanted me to track my chronic pain, so I started using this app. He was thrilled to see the info collected.

  • Great Tracking Tool
by Kate Dixon on 2020-01-10 at 9:28 AM

I love this app. It’s user friendly, no bugs, allows me to track symptoms and mood and sleep. I can even print them for the doctor. Very good if you have chronic pain, variation in pain levels, and different areas that flare up.

  • Requires Google or Facebook authentication.
by ratgurrl on 2020-01-04 at 3:42 PM

That’s a non-starter for me, but otherwise this seems like a good app.

  • Good but not great
by cbchewy on 2019-11-21 at 1:16 PM

This is definitely one of the more comprehensive pain tracker apps but the body pain tracker is not great. It’s too general. When I have back pain I need something that I can track different types of pain on different sides of the body, not just one big area. It needs to be more precise.

  • Still lacking
    by Lordenki40 on 2019-11-15 at 3:50 AM

I was part of the Facebook group for feedback when this first came out. I gave up on out back then, but decided to try it again. I am pretty disappointed that the body model still lacks the ability to choose most joints even after two years. I know it was suggested multiple times. It’s a very common place to hurt and as a person with RA it’s where most of my pain is. That pretty much renders this app useless for me, however I’m glad it helps others.

  • Fabulous data logger and info source
by Dr Fibro Mama on 2019-11-13 at 3:34 PM

I have tried other pain logging apps. This is the best by far. It has reminders to take meds, links to relevant and recent health reports, and is easy to use.

  • Great app for monitoring pain
by [email protected] on 2019-11-09 at 9:45 PM

I used to use a graph and paper to record my pain, but since finding this app, it’s been easy to keep records of it. I plan on bringing my pain management doctor a copy of this when I see him next. I’m hoping he can help better manage my pain with proper care.

  • Great App!!!⭐️
by Lisa B-B on 2019-10-13 at 3:09 PM

So helpful to keep up with my pain issues!!!! It’s so helpful to be able to send this info to my physician so he can understand the impact that my pain is having on my life, because if I’m having a good day when I have an appointment, I don’t express the gravity of my issues adequately.

  • Great app
by Princess pokey on 2019-10-09 at 5:17 PM

This app has helped me to better react to my pain, physically and mentally. It has helped me see when I am pushing my body too much and when I need to relax and rest. It has been helpful to my pm team to see what my pain level is on a hourly basis and what my activity level has been that day. I don’t have my phone on my person at all times so the step counter isn’t accurate. The only way I see to fix this is to carry my phone everywhere.

  • Best for Fibromyalgia
by GertKayT on 2019-10-05 at 3:21 PM

This is the best app for Fibromyalgia sufferers. You can log Pain for each body part easily with the body separates into sections & just tap on part, then tap on Pain level. You can add notes, activity level, triggers (if known), sleep, etc. you can even add pictures to your notes. Then reports can be emailed.

  • Thumbs up

  • Recording pain scale diary
    by Lorainy4 on 2019-09-13 at 4:58 PM

Patients collecting and recording of pain scale data could prove to be beneficial to physicians treating patients with pain medication Especially considering with the new pain medicine legislation.

  • Was great until update 8/2019
by NolaValkyrie on 2019-09-02 at 12:37 PM

Edit....ACCORDING TO THE DEVS this is no longer a pain tracking app. They have given in to the curse of over-generalization instead of sticking with a winning formula. Now, they will track mood, menstruation, food, etc. I lowered to one star and would give them zero if I could. What I wouldn’t give for a succinct app that lets me easily track pain. That’s it, just pain. I really liked this app and used it daily. Then, it was updated. Why do developers think more bells and whistles makes an app better? Generally, all it does is make an app less user friendly. Such was the case this time. The app is now horribly monochromatic. The once feature I truly used (the monthly calendar showing my pain levels over time in clear color dots) is now gone. All that shows are blue dots showing an entry was made. Totally useless. I could go on as more was changed and all that matters to me is the app is now less user friendly. For those of us with chronic pain, ease of use and quick to access features are a blessing. The app had that and now it doesn’t. I’m off to the App Store to try and find a friendlier app.

  • Great app for tracking physical pain symptoms
by Fire fall down! on 2019-08-16 at 9:21 PM

Getting better and believe they will expand to more AI solutions. Would be big if they added recommend natural remedies in a specific section and typical medical treatments in another section. Being able to add lab results and send out a kit to your house to get it updated would make this a game changer.

  • Love it!

  • Descent
    by statik.kat on 2019-07-13 at 5:10 PM

I really liked using this at first, and it’s still really helpful keeping track of my pain over time, but half the time I open it now it won’t load properly and I have to enter EVERYTHING manually instead of updating based on my previous entry. I wish it had more information directly related to my autoimmune disease, and a more user friendly graph that combined pain, activity level, and sleep.

  • Journals automatically delete
    by tcato808 on 2019-06-04 at 4:10 AM

I have been using this for close to 8 months and I appreciate the updates over that time, but there is one thing that drives me crazy. I will go back to look at my history and find random dates that just disappear. All the data for a specific date are just gone and that date could be 7 days past so I can’t just replace the info. I know it was there because it will tell me that I have a streak of data inputs then the next day that streak is gone. Please fix.

  • Very helpful app.
by Phanieisaunicorn on 2019-05-14 at 11:33 PM

I absolutely love this app. I have been taking reports to my doctor and it’s really helping him understand a little further, what’s happening on a day to day basis. My doctor loves the app and said he’d like recommending it to his patients who see him often. It can take a little while to submit and complete your log, but that’s probably the only ‘bad’ thing I can say about the app.
