Ranchr - Cattle Record Keeping

Simplify tracking and managing your cattle — no more pen and paper, spreadsheets or outdated, expensive software. Ranchr gives you (and your hired help) a single app to manage all your cattle information from your phone or iPad.

By using Ranchr's cattle management software you will save time, money and stress. It was built by cattle farmers to make the job much easier.

The product includes a mobile app and a dashboard in the cloud, so that you can access and update cattle records in the field, at home or in the office

With Ranchr, you can track basic info about your livestock such as name, ear tag, date of birth, breed, and sex. Ranchr also makes it easy to add additional details and keep track of changes (cattle health, calves, cattle sales, etc) over time.

You can also report when you sell the cow, when the cow gets a treatment, when there is a health change such as a sickness to the cow, and when you record a weight of the cow, along with the option to add notes and the date you applied the record.

Ranchr was been designed by farmers for farmers. Its mission is to eliminate the time it takes to record information of your livestock/cattle so you can keep better track of your cattle's information. Having complete and accurate livestock records will give you the tools to make your ranch very profitable and eliminate waste

The cattle records you enter on your phone will instantly be available on the online dashboard and to other app users who belong to your ranch. Having this ease of access to your cattle records will make your day to day ranch management operations simple and easy.

Ranchr is the easiest to use cattle management software on the market. It eliminates the need of carrying around a pen and paper by bringing the power to your fingertips with a mobile app along with an online dashboard for your computer.

We appreciate your time and encourage you to give us feedback on how we can better improve your experience in recording your cattle records.

  • Good layout but too difficult and glitchy
by D. Anon on 2021-03-26 at 12:30 PM

I’ve been playing around with different cattle management apps to try to find one that works great for my situation. I like the layout of this app the best so far in that it’s easy to scroll through the list of cows and see at a glance what the breed/cross of each one is. However it is far too glitchy at the moment. I enter a calf under the cow and it initially shows in the main list with a green tag next to the cow’s number, which is great and exactly what I needed (to see at a glance which cows have a calf at side). However, when I go back in the green tag is sometimes gone, the calf is gone and usually her calf is now listed under a different cow. Then there is no way to reassign that calf back to the correct cow or easily delete the calf. There also needs to be some sorting functions or more advanced filtering by breed, age etc. For now I will have to move to a different app that is more consistent but I will watch for updates on Ranchr and would be willing to give it another try if these issues are addressed and resolved.

  • Small bug
    by 4Mcattlefarm on 2020-12-27 at 8:50 PM

When entering in treatment history, it sorts it by how you put it in, not by the date it was done, wish that could be fixed Also there I no way to delete treatment history if put under wrong cow Would like a settings option on how operater would like history sorted, be able to save vaccine names to be able to select instead of type in every time, how to add different herd, how to say what each cow is used for(breeding,meat,etc.).

So far I love the app.

  • Great records tool

Excellent app. Very easy to use and very helpful.

Wondering how I can choose heifer or steer?

  • My input
    by $?;33/..( on 2020-10-11 at 9:35 PM

I wish there was a way a guy could put in a number sequence on initial input. Just putting in 200+ pairs takes for ever.

  • More Breed options
by Brpta on 2020-08-07 at 2:09 AM

I’m surprised that Romagnola has not been added to the breed selection yet. How can you get this added. If it’s not available it would be nice to have a write in option. Also would be nice to be able to print out the records.

Need to add additional breeds of cattle, or make the breed a fillable option.

    Good so far

  • Ranchr Works!
by Lfdfireman on 2020-06-01 at 10:20 PM

Easy to use and allows for plenty of information to be logged and stored. Def a thumbs up! 👍🏻

  • Awesome app
by Hayea Havlik on 2020-05-29 at 5:26 PM

I am starting my own cow business and I can right my notes in here

  • Small cattle farm
by Riesinater on 2020-05-20 at 2:13 PM

So far so good. A lot of these cattle apps aren’t designed for small farms. This seems pretty simple and straight forward.

  • Info deletes
by f HT ds si on 2020-05-12 at 2:33 AM

The app is ok except if you don’t pay attention the info you add in the “notes” will delete without you know.

  • New user
by Jerry Ralph R.B. Bob Bevis on 2020-04-24 at 8:11 PM

This is much better than keeping track of a notebook in the truck and always looking for an ink pen. I really like this app.

  • Register Beefmaster

Good... but collar option for the calves

  • Really great. One prob so far
by Doople mcbop on 2020-03-27 at 5:26 PM

Wish I could sort cows by pasture name. Maybe I just haven’t found that feature

  • Best cattle record app out there!
    by Reese_USAF on 2020-03-27 at 3:00 PM

Absolutely love this app. It makes it very easy to keep track of what all cattle you have, pregnancies, and health conditions. Would be nice to have an option to share your farm with another user so they can view and edit it.

  • Great App!
    by ElisabethE.16 on 2020-03-19 at 12:10 AM

So impressed with this app, I’ve been looking and this one is by far my favorite.

  • Could be better.
    by sadfgh123456!! on 2020-03-05 at 2:56 AM

Wish it had a graph system amd a main page where you can see all with numbers to count them. Like a summary of all.

  • Pregnancy / Calving
    by klightfoot86 on 2020-03-04 at 7:31 PM

Did the Calf Tracker ability disappear or is it just me? I used to be able to add a new baby to a mama cow and keep up with all her pregnancies. That isn’t even an option now?

  • Decent app
by huskerdeere on 2020-01-19 at 5:19 PM

Would give the app 5 stars if the things that i inputed for my animals would save 100% of the time. Say I type in animal weight, it might save half the time. Otherwise app is awesome for cattle management. Would be cool to be able to give feedback within the app to help improve it or report glitches.

  • Would like to see improvement.
by alpha Rs Faryan on 2020-01-16 at 1:14 AM

Not a fan of having to enter everything individually and wish I could enter info as a group.

  • Great and simple
by brahmanguy on 2020-01-10 at 2:24 PM

Ranchr is very easy to use. I like how simple it is and the idea of picture of cow or bull for the profile. Just wished it was compatible for Embryo transfer, that would be even better. We still use it for our recips though.

  • Nice and simple
by jihanhon on 2020-01-05 at 10:43 PM

Easy to manage with good options

  • Not perfect
    by blc60 on 2019-12-25 at 5:57 PM

My cows continue to show they are 49 years old. The heifer component says cow or bull when entering data. The app is just not perfected. Sorry!

  • Love it after hours
by MRHRancher on 2019-12-08 at 3:05 AM

I absolutely love this app. I have only had it for one day and have downloaded my herd into it. It has been the best app I have found within the Apple store for a long time. Although I have not made a payment for it yet, There are reviews that say it is seven dollars a month and I would pay that in a heartbeat for how easily this app functions and how user-friendly it is! So far it’s a five star for me!

  • Decent app for tracking cattle
by Jaredfromoregon on 2019-12-02 at 12:41 AM

Pros: It has room for all the data I need to input for my cattle Cons: seems to glitch out on age of cattle sometimes and also can’t seem to choose heifer or steer for sex only bull or cow, would be nice to have the option in the drop down menu

  • My opinion
    by zebv1024 on 2019-11-26 at 9:35 PM

Pictures will not update or it would be 5

  • Great basic records app
    by podchamp01 on 2019-10-26 at 6:55 PM

Works good, but would be helpful if you could split herds, because I have animals in multiple locations

  • Stonehedge ranch
by wine time finally on 2019-10-26 at 2:35 PM

I have several groups of cattle and shuffle cattle in and out periodically and I like to keep each group in numerical order I have not figured out how to insert number two between one and three and if there’s no way to do that that would be nice.

  • 3 Dog Ranch

    Good tracking app

  • Life is easier
by Montgomery Farms on 2019-08-25 at 10:31 PM

Made my life easier because I can document things in the pasture otherwise I would have to try to remember when I get home

  • Great app
by You know, that guy on 2019-08-10 at 9:16 PM

    Great app

  • Good app! However.....
by bnbcattleco on 2019-08-08 at 8:28 PM

I really like the app but there is one thing that bothers me. Whenever I enter a date whether it be a birthdate or treatment date etc, when I hit save it changes the date usually to the next day or the previous day. Not the end of the world but kind of annoying! Thanks

  • Awesome
by smagnes on 2019-06-01 at 8:10 PM

This is an amazing app and it’s so easy to use.

  • Nice app.!
    by sodbuster8828 on 2019-05-12 at 4:00 AM

This is a nice app. for cattle record keeping.

  • Deek
by Cool Monkey 123 on 2019-05-10 at 7:22 PM

Really organized, but wish the images were fitted better

  • Great app with nice design!
    by Shanmarie87 on 2019-05-08 at 8:18 PM

Love the new update, it looks really sleek. It makes it really easy to update cattle records on the go. Great tool for my ranch!

  • Hate the update
by Kknhgfh on 2019-05-08 at 12:38 PM

It use to say the age right on the main screen now that’s gone the icons were a picture of your livestock that’s gone they went cheep

  • Not accurate
by cattlehobby on 2019-03-31 at 10:18 PM

It says you can enter calves, etc. There are only limited entry options and everything else is under notes.. Also, some of the options in the specific sections are letters only and no explanation of what the letters mean.

  • Pretty good needs work
    by mambo-15 on 2019-02-04 at 1:10 AM

I think it is pretty good it just needs a separate place for the calves but you could still could link the cow and the calf

  • Needs more breeds or a fill in breed option
by mountain town farm on 2018-12-08 at 6:16 PM

I like the program to this point I think it needs some work but it’s a good start

  • Great app just need a few updates
    by MCMM11 on 2018-10-09 at 7:30 PM

Like other responses I would love to see an update that would allow you to edit photos, choosing between cow, bull and steer. Great way to track cattle and calving records.

  • Options limited
    by Cinn2003 on 2018-10-06 at 12:29 AM

It needs a lot more cattle breeds. Most are for beef and I have bothe beef but I do have dairy breeds that I put into this app. Plus it needs added options of bull or steer.

  • Not good
by Bwooke:)*** on 2018-04-19 at 5:23 PM

Says it’s free but then you end up paying 7 bucks a month! Not worth it

  • Getting there
    by Smithj07 on 2018-01-06 at 3:49 PM

I wish you could change text size and not have breed on home page also being able to sort by calves.

  • NOT FREE! $7 per month after the free trial.
    by Zekez87 on 2017-11-18 at 2:25 PM

The app is a B- at best. Half the time You enter the birth date of you cattle then it changes the date to something else. Also it has only one herd so you can't categorize your cattle. But my biggest upset is the fact that they make it look like a free app. Then after I spend hours entering my herd data. They then tell me a few days into it. That it will be $7 per month to continue using the app. Totally not worth it.

  • Needs Herd/Pasture Filter or distinction
by angusstrong on 2017-10-25 at 4:27 AM

It would really help if you could have it set up as a pasture and you could move the cattle from one pasture or holding area to another so you can select a specific pasture and then the cow you’re looking for.

  • Nice
    by See-er on 2017-09-30 at 12:38 PM

Nice and easy to use but can not edit. I put wrong pic with a bull. Would like to see " Bull" added to sex as well as "steer". Not just female or male.

  • Great basic app
by VAgrazer on 2017-09-24 at 1:22 AM

Good app, need to be able to have a separate page for calves and be able to link their basic information back to the cow (i.e. Birth weight/ weaning weight etc)
