  • Can’t log in anymore
    by BDD3 on 2021-01-19 at 1:06 AM

My subscription is currently paid up through February 2021, but the app is nonfunctional. I can’t log in, nor will the app allow me to send a password reset email. There is no email support displayed on the app. I’ve tried deleting the app, but now it won’t reinstall. I am writing this as I noticed others having the same issue. Really don’t know what to do. Have used this guide for 20 years. Now I am thinking I need to cancel my subscription and look for another guide before my auto-renewal in February. I’d appreciate any help from the developer- if someone sees this. Thanks ..

  • Last update destroyed program
by Isleofgough on 2021-01-06 at 10:22 PM

This was a great app until the last update. Despite paying the yearly fee, the program will not update. I cannot login with email and password. Even trying to reset password gives me an invalid email message. Company denies the issue and blames it on Apple and the user. Rather then help, they just suggested cancelling my subscription if I am not happy (after keeping the payment). This is very disappointing from a company that used to be highly regarded in the medical field, and one that I used as a physician for years. Addendum: deleting the app and redownloading allows updating content, but any updates require this to be done, unlike every other Apple app. There is also a bug in the app that you cannot create an account despite a button to create account. It also will not link to an account you set up via the internet either. The company's response is that it must be my fault.

Good; however, way to expensive for what it is.

  • Checking subscription
by Fapperhi on 2020-06-06 at 7:40 PM

I would like to start off by saying that it is a wonderful app and a great resource for my first year of residency. My only gripe with it, is that since yesterday I have not been able to access the app because it keeps saying that it is “checking subscription”. I paid for the app two months ago. Once the issue is desocupes I will happily este this 5 stars

  • Super helpful!
by Mspieces on 2020-05-30 at 4:14 AM

I am a novice in the field and was carrying around the Sanford book, then my preceptor introduced me to this app. It has been a life saver! I love the organization. Very simple, clear, and to the point. I love the citations linked within the text.

  • Lack of help
    by Pancho9312 on 2020-05-22 at 3:46 AM

I’ve had the Sanford Guide book for several years, the last two years I decided to purchase through the App Store and everything was fine until a message appear while I was doing some research that says “Your subscription has expired” and I checked in my subscriptions and the invoice and it clearly says I have full access until December 2020, so this clearly a way to make you pay twice and I haven’t received any kind of help. The advices they give doesn’t work. I need you to fix this issue or give me my money back.

  • Great Resource
by PBnJ 811 on 2020-05-11 at 11:34 AM

I use SG every single day. And I constantly reference it when going over patients and choosing therapies with my interns and residents. It is a resource that’s much needed with ID & even just FamMed or Internal Medicine.

  • Stop the expiration paywall data lock.
    by I_Know_Musik on 2020-04-14 at 7:54 PM

I have been an enthusiastic user of your printed & digital publications since medical school. For decades I regularly purchased the handbooks, (& more recently, subscriptions) for my staff as needed, but times have changed. It is an unfortunate reflection of the metastasis of corporate greed, that this company, who’s existence is dependent on filling the need for immediate, reliable, clinical information; would have their central product self-destruct on the subscription expiration date, with no available access whatsoever. Your venerated handbooks never did that. We faithfully carried them them in our breast pockets until they fell apart. (Btw, most of my med/info app don’t do this. They just disclaim that newer data is available with update. We WILL always want the latest version because of its newer clinical information, and upgrade when convenient. ) What if, I were one day past expiration, in a situation (basement, plane, national park, jungle safari clinic) where there’s no reliable internet, needing to look up malaria or tuberculosis treatments, only to find you’ve “locked” my access for fun & profit! Aargh! Come on! Your Handbooks didn’t do that, and they weren’t cheap. Furthermore, I suspect your manufacturing, publishing, distributing and marketing costs were higher back then, compared to your fixed editorial costs. Please tell your profit-mongers to stop locking-down the app on its expiration date, and let access continue, before they find themselves on vacation, bitten by a Komodo dragon, needing to look up broad spectrum antibiotic coverage for a nasty polymicrobial animal bite using an app that’s frozen its data because they insisted on a subscription-timed paywall lock!

by Wyatt Irk on 2019-10-23 at 8:09 PM

Great! Works better for me than the books. And, it is always up to date - several updates per year. That alone is worth the price of admission.

  • App closes on its own
by Dada Boat on 2019-10-17 at 9:43 AM

Was working great for me. Never had issues with it. Been using this guide for almost 4 years now. Every time I open the app it just closes on its own within a few seconds when I try to navigate through it. Aside from that 5 stars. Please fix. Thanks

  • too short of a trial and (warning) automatic charge after 7 day trial
by managery_ on 2019-10-01 at 11:53 PM

very short trial period and then it automatically charges your card after it's up, instead of deactivating. deceptive in my opinion the short trial makes it difficult to actually get an idea to truly see if it's worth getting this version vs the paper form. world also like to see non-subscription yearly option. things don't change that much year to year. ---reply to publisher response--- thank you for your response and offer but I'm no longer in need of the app as I am using a paper option and will not be in the market for another year. I will also respectfully diaagree with the multilple emails from apple comment in regards to the automatic charge. I did but receive anything except for the invoice after my card was charged. That said, even if i did receive the emails I still strongly feel that a FREE trial should not charge you automatically; especially after 7 days. When you use the opt out model you are acting more like a predatory app and I know that's not your intention, so suggest you use the same function you use at the end of a year to disable the app after 7 days. Also, might I suggest if you insist on keeping the trial at 7 days that have a monthly subscription offer would be helpful to clinicians who aren't quite ready to pay for a year. For a lot of us were deciding on paper vs app 7 days will be insufficient. Also, while I appreciate you might make hundreds of changes a month, as an ID specialist, I can assure you that as a general rule, 99% of the important areas of the Sanford guide are generally not clinically significantly changing month to month and that the year to year updates are more critical. So while I appreciate real-time updates, I feel ease of use compared to paper is the real question for users like me.

  • Other apps are much better

  • The ID gods have blessed us with this app
by cppharmD on 2019-08-07 at 9:06 PM

Great resource and extremely well organized

  • Poor service
    by djay711 on 2019-07-16 at 10:04 AM

I bought the app for 29.99, with the understanding that you have the option to update yearly (as has been the case previously from personal experience). After 1 year, I chose not to renew the subscription knowing I would just have the older reference, only to find that I completely lost the whole reference. A reference I paid 29.99 for! Seems awfully greedy to force people to pay $30 year after year. Imagine if I forced you to pay me yearly for your textbooks... What I do with the reference after I pay for it should be none of their business. There are other equal, if not better guides, that you can buy and OWN, without ever losing them. Don’t waste your time on Sanford Guide. To make things worse, the company has passive aggressive responses that certainly solidify it as a non-physician friendly reference. I will chose to give my money to companies that treat customers with respect.

  • Great for clinical support
by Surgical educator on 2019-06-23 at 2:38 PM

During med school and residency I always had the pocket Sanford in my lab coat, was able to impress my mentors with a solid understanding of antimicrobial therapy supported by evidence, still use this today 19 years later, tell all my students to get it.

by ED Clin Pharm on 2019-04-17 at 12:55 PM

The app is poorly designed and glitchy. Even when it worked initially, it was difficult to locate info quickly. In a setting where I need to quick answers, I end up using another source. I’ll be cancelling and getting the book instead.
