  • Exactly what I needed
by CjWriteNow on May 26, 2021 at 3:51 am

Easy to use. Easy to customize. Place for notes. I tried a couple others first. One cost $50 and was comprehensive but too cumbersome—took half a day to get started and would’ve been too much work every day. The second was inexpensive but too limited—no place for notes, no way to customize. This one cost less than $10 and did everything I needed, plus the setup was easy.

  • Overall worth the purchase
by Sistahmare on May 11, 2021 at 1:59 pm

Yes, you can use a free version, but the number of things you can track is limited in the free version. If you are concerned about your health and want to track symptoms to help with diagnosing or managing conditions, this app is great. Very easy to use and easy to add or create new symptoms or factors to track. My one con with this app is that if you take photos and log them in this app in the photo section, you cannot delete them from your phone’s camera roll. If you delete them from the camera roll they automatically are removed from the app. Learned this the hard way, but early on so I don’t make that mistake again.

  • Mostly all in one for my needs
    by Hollysugar9 on March 30, 2021 at 8:40 pm

I love adding photos and the ease of marking symptoms based on time of day. The only item missing for me is adding my food tracking. My have a sensitive digestive system, and many of my symptoms are related unfortunately. Otherwise I love this app.

  • Does not write to Apple Health
by spooky whosoever on January 31, 2021 at 6:33 pm

The app appears to work, but I misunderstood the HealthKit compatibility. The app only reads Apple Health data and won’t write to it for the fields that are applicable.

  • Would love to use on phone and iPad
by Tuxykat on January 30, 2021 at 3:30 pm

I just purchased and I’m excited! But I’ve already entered a bunch of information on my iPad, which I don’t always have with me, and I think I just discovered that I can’t share information automatically between it and my iPhone. Is this true? If so, I’m bummed! I’ll start over, because I think this app is just what I’m looking for. But data sharing would be much appreciated! Thanks!

  • Alleviates my concern
by Ennes Mazur on December 16, 2020 at 10:23 am

Being able to just tap out the symptoms I’m dealing with, especially since they can vary broadly from day to day and even within a day, helps ease my mind. I’m doing something proactive. It helps prepare for doctor appointments. It doesn’t rely on me thinking spectacularly or speaking well in the moment - just recognize what I’m dealing with and click on the level of severity. If I’m feeling verbal I can tap on the journal and add a note.

  • Very good tool for monitoring symptoms and potential causes
by BBoldNow on December 12, 2020 at 11:51 pm

Like flexibility in app to develop symptoms and contributor factors specific to health needs.

  • Waste of time
by molliwater on September 10, 2020 at 2:15 pm

App is pointless unless you purchase the upgrade. You can only track 5 pre-set symptoms if you don’t pay.

  • Love all the symptom and integration options!
by Miss Danna on September 5, 2020 at 2:01 am

I just started my Immunotherapy treatments for my Stage 4 Metastatic Melanoma. I almost created a massive spreadsheet to do a daily tracking of the huge list of potential side-effects and symptoms from my treatments. Luckily I found this app to do it for me! The only thing I wish I could do is have the option to track only once a day, instead of nite, am, mid, and night. It’s A LOT of unused fields to delete before I send the spreadsheet to my doctor. Other than that - this app is totally worth the purchase!!

  • The App I Have Been Looking For
by memark on August 19, 2020 at 6:12 am

This app is easy to use, has password lock with Face ID capability and is highly customizable. Thanks for creating this!!! It is well worth the upgrade charge to add full capabilities.

  • Just what I needed
by barnpigeon on August 8, 2020 at 7:21 am

Allows me to track custom symptoms, record custom factors, write notes. Really easy to use. Thanks, Symple!

  • Fantastic app.
    by shmorgan24 on July 16, 2020 at 6:05 pm

Best symptom tracker I’ve found. It’s highly customizable and comprehensive. If you’re thinking about upgrading to the full app I would recommend doing so - the full features are completely worth it, and I really appreciate that it’s a one-time purchase instead of subscription-based. I like that I don’t have to worry about losing my logged data based on a monthly fee. It’s a very clean-looking, intuitive interface.

  • Looks Good, But Totally Useless
by MsCraftyPaula on July 5, 2020 at 7:48 pm

I need to track pain on different sides of the body, different limbs, different parts of the abdomen. I must know which kidney is hurting this time, for instance. I guess I'm back to locating and opening a document each time I have symptoms I need to remember. 🙁

  • Tracks but data without correlation is useless
    by Alley660 on June 11, 2020 at 7:51 pm

This app does track symptoms but if you are tracking a lot a symptoms it is pretty much useless. There are no analytics at all aside from the “doctor” report. That report only offers a color coded intensity - does not even include the average number for a more precise information. Also does not provide the most basic of analytics or insights like “on days you woke up without an alarm these symptoms were less”. You can compare symptom by symptom but only two at a time and only one day. Factors is also useless as it does not interact with the symptoms data at all, it might as well be part of the journal. When I messaged to ask about this they stated we don’t get into analyzing because it could be diagnosis. If you don’t offer diagnosis (an actual condition) and slap on the same warning like every other health app does then you aren’t diagnosing anything. It seems like an easy way to not do the work of actually processing the data in a meaningful way. This was a huge disappointment and I regret paying for this app and would like my money back.

  • Good app, but not able to use it seamlessly with life
by usherma on June 4, 2020 at 3:57 pm

I’m really confused why there isn’t an ability to create an account with Symple. As someone with chronic disease, I would like the ability to log and track symptoms via however is easiest in the moment (my cell, iPad, desktop, etc.). Since there’s no way for me to create an account, I can’t log into my Symple on other devices to track symptoms. I will need to switch to another app because of the difficulty to track during my work day. It’s very disappointing that I need to switch, since Symple has the best UI and integration with Apple Health that I’ve seen. Developer: if possible, please the ability to create an account and log in on multiple devices a priority in your next upgrade/release. I know this would go a long way for those using the app who have chronic diseases. 🙂

  • Can’t compare
by Dominolarose on May 23, 2020 at 8:33 am

Too bad there is no graph to compare symptoms & factors, thats what this kind of app should offer

  • Does not support iPad
by Someone else has my nickname on May 3, 2020 at 1:06 pm

I'd love to love it, but sadly, it doesn't work on the iPad. It just dies when I try to use it. I don't want to damage its rating so I'll give it 5 stars since it seems like a great app.

  • The Best App!
    by Jenna12738 on March 6, 2020 at 2:35 pm

I am a Stage IV cancer patient. My oncology team asked me to keep a journal of my symptoms, what I ate, physical activity, etc. I’ve been having gastric issues and we are trying to pinpoint the cause. By keeping track of everything in this app, my Doctors can help me better. The purchase price of $9.99 for the full version is definitely worth it. I never pay for an app. I am thrilled I took a chance on this one. Thank you!

  • Perfect for long term tracking
by Everyday Warrior on January 27, 2020 at 8:55 pm

I have been tracking my symptoms on calendars for the past 3 years and I never thought to even look for an app that would make it easy to track symptoms. To my surprise, I found Symple by accident that allows me to do exactly that, on my phone, in a really easy way! Everything is very intuitive! Would give 6 stars if I could.

  • free, unless you are a complex human being and have more than 5 symptoms to track
    by RaZZleFratz91 on January 21, 2020 at 1:03 am

I like the broad range of suggested symptoms for tracking, from physical to mental. However, this app charges a pretty penny to upgrade to unlimited symptom tracking ($8.99). I don’t find that price point accessible! And for that reason, I wouldn’t recommend it the patients I treat.

  • Seriously perfect
by OneHappyNapper on January 2, 2020 at 3:23 pm

Living with chronic illness is a pain in the butt. We don’t have extra energy or brain cells to do stuff that’s really complicated, and there are so many moving parts to keep track of. This app is perfect – really helps see what’s going on, while requiring minimal effort. At the end of the day, I can log the relevant info with a few clicks. If I want to, I can add a few words to the journal (or a lot), and I can add a photo if it’s something visible. And then when my doctor asks me “So, how have things been going?“, I can actually have an intelligent answer. Another unexpected side benefit is how it makes progress visible. Like on January 1 each year, I go in and fine-tune the variables I track, and I’m floored by the number of symptoms and factors I have been able to retire because they have stopped being an issue. This app is designed by someone who clearly “gets it” and truly cares. Heartfelt thanks!!! 💕

  • Best so far
    by NicoleF1T on December 21, 2019 at 10:23 pm

I deal with multiple symptoms of a chronic illness . They can be hard to keep up with and understand timing when relaying to doctors. This app makes it easy to add symptoms and track them. I would like to see some sort of graph over time if available. Possible with factors alongside the symptoms lines or even just the symptoms. As of now I just have to scroll through calendar dates with the dot. Or perhaps there could be an online version to login and see a graph ? Otherwise this app is great and does what I need. Thank you

  • Exactly what I was looking for!
by supawmn on November 29, 2019 at 2:40 am

Exactly what I was looking for! I can record my symptoms add anything I want or choose from a list. I like the journal portion too so I can add details of my symptoms.

  • What a nice way to record my symptoms
by A meandering Moose on November 2, 2019 at 11:58 pm

    Easy and fast

  • Requests for app improvement
by Lyris Frost on September 27, 2019 at 4:08 pm

The report isn’t helpful at my dr appointments. I have a lot of symptoms, so they don’t take the time to look at it. It would be helpful if Symple sorted the symptoms by most severe to least severe. Also, there should be a separate report showing correlation between symptoms and factors so I can learn what is helping and what’s not helping.

  • Easy to Use
    by Luchel17 on August 7, 2019 at 7:10 pm

I have tried a few symptom tracking apps and this is my favorite. The others I didn’t use for long before giving up due to interface issues and/or the program not tracking the information in a way that was useful to me. Th is app allows you to open up the day and quickly record various symptoms and severity level. You can also customize your personal symptom menu by adding /removing symptoms. You can even create your own symptoms if the app doesn’t already have it. I purchased the full version and IMO it has been well worth it. Once you pay, that’s it there are no additional hidden fees like some apps. There is also a physician report that allows you to create a pdf file of your symptoms- you specify the date range to include. It’s been extremely helpful to tracck my symptoms and daily journal entries so when I meet with my doctor I have a solid and detailed record of history to share.

  • Good for basic symptom tracking
    by @emmareich143 on August 2, 2019 at 2:36 am

I keep track of my symptoms since I have chronic pain and am chronically ill. I’ve been searing for an app that would help me. This app is the closest I can get. It does good for basic info. I would love if there was a ‘sort by’ section for the symptoms. I do like the alphabetical order but having it go in categories would be much better. I like having the journal section as well. Another suggestion would be to separate right vs left. For example instead of ankle pain it could be ‘right ankle pain’ or ‘left ankle pain’.

  • Not perfect but pretty good
by Flamingjellyfish on June 5, 2019 at 3:02 am

I've been using Symple to track my CFS symptoms for nearly three years now. As far as I can tell it’s the only app currently available that’s actually any good for this purpose. Overall it is very useful and definitely an improvement over symptom tracking without an app (eg pen and paper, spreadsheet.) Good things: customizable symptoms and factors (although the pre-set symptoms are reasonably comprehensive too), journal feature, graphing symptoms over time. It’s pretty intuitive. The doctor's report thing shows visually if symptoms are getting better or worse over time; I have no idea if doctors actually find it helpful in any way. I have some small complaints: It's pretty hard to figure out for instance what your symptoms looked like over a specific length of time in the past -- the graph shows things like "one month ago" and as far as I can tell there's no way to look at a specific calendar month all at once. Also, for most symptoms I want either fewer than 5 levels of severity or more than that. Additionally it is not easy to manually input sleep if you don't have an app that tracks that. Finally, if you’re trying to keep track of multiple conditions it can get unwieldy fast — it might be nice to be able to track symptoms associated with more than one illness separately. I would not use it to keep track of possible food sensitivities, since that’s a lot of complexity and this app works best with a limited number of symptoms and factors. However, in spite of these inconveniences it is a useful app. And getting better — a couple of previous complaints have been fixed with new updates. I have no regrets about buying the pro version, it’s an incredibly good value for the price.

  • Only tracks 5 symptoms in free version
by psychoneurotical on May 27, 2019 at 9:44 pm

Seriously? If I only had 5 symptoms maybe I could work enough to be able to afford an $8.99 app. Not worth the download!

  • It’s Helpful
    by MOkld51 on May 22, 2019 at 2:22 pm

The app is easy to navigate and has helped to figure out when the symptoms are occurring and I’m also using it in conjunction with Fitbit to track small wins like drinking less soda in a day through the journal portion

  • Dislike no support
by Ljooooo on April 9, 2019 at 9:08 pm

Want to cancel. Not what I expected. No phone number and no info given in app. Extremely disappointed.

  • Thanks for hating disabled people !
by wyrd bug on March 23, 2019 at 8:10 pm

It is disgusting that you have to pay for more symptoms to track. I already pay more than my weight in pure gold in medical bills to treat all of my symptoms, and you practically fine people for being ill. I understand things take money, I do not expect this to be a wholly free app, but perhaps think harder about what you are putting a price on.

  • No more caveats. A VERY good app now!
    by KP777 on March 22, 2019 at 3:30 pm

When I reviewed Symple at the beginning of this month, I did so with a complaint of a serious bug that was impacting the Journal module of the app. I honestly couldn’t give Symple the rating I wished I could. But with the most recent update, which I just applied to Symple, not only is my problem no longer a problem due to a good fix, but the developers added search capability across journals . . . a most helpful addition. And so, now I am awarding Symple a legitimate 5 stars. Thanks, and very well done!

  • Nice app!

Long time user who tracks sleep, running and productivity. Very happy with iPhone X update! Still clean, still no frills. But does exactly what I need it to do. Im not using this for medical purposes, just for performance and health/mood tracking.

  • Good app, I noticed one bug so far...
by TheCMikk on March 6, 2019 at 5:25 am

I just started using this app after trying many different ways to keep logs of my health. I like Symple for its userface and look. The one problem I’m having is that you can’t copy text from journal entries. I’d like the option to copy and paste information into multiple days (food, activities, etc.) but when I tap and hold on the words the app suddenly quits. This has to be an error that’ll hopefully be fixed quickly.

  • NO iPad version so nothing to sync to : (
by JKeuky on February 26, 2019 at 6:57 pm

Used the trial version for a couple of days only to discover no app for iPad... a dealbreaker for me. And I don’t like the fact that I can’t jot down a short note in the trial version... it’s only available in their upgrade. I’ve deleted this app.

  • The only chronic illness app I like
by Ms. Bedelia on January 29, 2019 at 6:05 am

I tried them all. This one isn’t perfect, but it’s the best one for me.

  • Can we get an update??
by salenarose on January 12, 2019 at 1:23 am

Love the app but some minor updates would just make it so much better. 1. Doesn’t fit to iPhone X (10) screen. 2. Can we get an option to search for our symptom rather than scroll through them all? Or just search and add by the day? Maybe have a button for “frequent” symptoms. 3. How about an option with “all day” or “24 hour” pain/symptom. 4. On the doctor report, maybe just list the symptoms we marked for that month(s) not all the symptoms on the/our list.

  • A Good Start
by EchoesofRiss on January 6, 2019 at 9:58 am

My symptoms change throughout the day, what might be a 10 in the morning may deflate to a 7 by that evening. I love how simple this is to use but I would like to see the ability to add multiple entries per day and see what time of day I added a symptom - like a time stamp per change on the spreadsheet.

  • Good for reporting data but not retrieving it
by LaurieInTheBerkshires on November 19, 2018 at 6:49 pm

I purchased this app because I want usable data to share with my doctors concerning my allergies. However, the doctor’s report is not helpful because of how it’s formatted. I would like to know my symptoms chronologically, but this report only shows a row of that symptom with: Symptom, started tracking, there’s nothing in the next two columns “insufficient data,” “yes” for real time. What days did I have that symptom? Morning, day evening? (If I’m logging in the time & date I should be able to have a report with this data.)

  • Easy but crashes - FIXED

  • Very helpful
    by DNF0330 on October 12, 2018 at 11:27 pm

I’ve been using this app as I have been struggling with a herniated lumbar disc. I appreciate the ability to track my symptoms, as well as medication I’m taking and other factors that play into my issues. My only wish is that there was a web version of this as well for typing in notes and for allowing the viewing in a different overall fashion. However, I only just discovered this morning that you can send yourself a CSV report, so I will be curious to look at that to see if it gives me the information I feel would be beneficial. I should add that my physical therapist appreciates the fact that I am keeping track of my symptoms. I don’t think I could do it as regularly and as thoroughly as I do without this app. So thank you! Update as of 10/12/2018 Ever since the iOS 12 update this app keeps quitting unexpectedly. This is frustrating and disappointing.
