  • Addictive, relaxing, timeless!
by Lunatonks on April 26, 2022 at 7:33 am

On my phone, games come and go, but Threes has stuck around for the long haul. It takes about 10 seconds to figure out how the game works. Sure, you can agonize over each move and play slowly and methodically. But I also love to sometimes just swipe away, almost in a meditative state, and see how far I can get. You can play however you want! IMO this is the greatest simple puzzle game since Tetris.

  • Way too expensive for the features
by yaylindaz on April 11, 2022 at 5:24 am

This game is way too expensive for the features. But it’s a great time sink. Needs an undo button to at least be able to undo the last move. Also, it’s kinda weird that the blocks are rectangles and not squares.

  • This game has become so annoying.
by Graymouse on March 16, 2022 at 4:43 am

This game has become so annoying. I love playing this game. BUT restarting is awful. I have to repeatedly swipe and swipe and swipe to get past saving the score and get to restart. I could care less about saving a score and I sure don’t want to sit and wait for whatever is failing to save or connect please fix!

  • Phantom swipes
by Dr resident on January 9, 2022 at 12:46 am

I’m getting tired of the phantom or miss-swipes. I barely touch the screen and before I can swipe down it has swiped right (or made up some other move I never had any intention of doing). Coordination is not an aspect of gameplay and there are no options to adjust sensitivity or other settings to avoid this issue…

  • Stands the test of time
by George WS on November 28, 2021 at 11:53 pm

Years after first buying this game, and I still love it just as much. I just unlocked the 1536 tile for the first time after several years of play. 😃

  • Great game, but…
by Unhappy in Louisville on October 28, 2021 at 7:55 am

Needs an “undo” button. It’s too easy to make a move you didn’t intend and lose a game you shouldn’t. Very frustrating.

  • Classic & high replayability
by Lsunnyd on October 5, 2021 at 11:38 am

I purchased this game in 2014. Forgot about it until I checked my purchase history when I went back to iPhone. Just as great as I remembered and now I get to for those last two tiles!

  • Fantastically Addicting Game
by Memkin on September 11, 2021 at 2:47 pm

I love this game. Perfect for zoning out. You are not required to be connected to the internet so it’s always available when internet connection is shotty or you are on a plane.

  • Rigged!!! 2048 is MUCH better!
by Biggggmannnnn on August 31, 2021 at 1:37 pm

They had some nerve charging six bucks for this crap! At least it’s now 99 cents, but it’s still way too much for this atrocious game! Annoying sound effects, ridiculous rules that make no sense, and it constantly dishes out 1s and 2s when you start doing well, which quickly ends gameplay! 2048 was inspired by this. It’s VERY rare that a knock-off game is actually better than the game that inspired it, but this is the case here! This game cheats and is so irritating with the voices, that I always end up playing a few games, then going on to a better game! Get 2048, delete this garbage! Threes may have inspired 2048, but is nowhere NEAR as good! I’m just SO grateful I didn’t buy this when it was $5.99!! Even at $.99, it’s still much too expensive for this P.O.S.!!! 😡😡

  • Sixy time!
    by Danny_J on August 18, 2021 at 8:44 am

If one wants two, Threes can be fourplay. Five stars!

  • Up yours Tobus
by BillDal on June 21, 2021 at 3:10 am

Was fun for awhile but now the game is constantly being interrupted by Tobus or another name to a bunch of confetti fanfare – I deleted it.

  • Favorite game on the AppStore
    by Fabster333333 on April 30, 2021 at 1:19 am

This is one of the best games out there. Highly motivating and just super polished and smooth! I am not even a numbers fan but this has me hooked. Great job!!!

  • Challenging number puzzler
by IKhalotus on April 28, 2021 at 1:17 am

I have been playing this as my go to puzzle game when I have a few spare moments. It is always challenging but doesn’t get boring. Trying to reach those largest tiles is still compelling after all these years. If you like combining number tiles and strategizing several moves ahead, give it a try!

  • Fun in Small Doses
by BLOKEmon on April 23, 2021 at 6:16 am

Entertaining and originality is eventually replaced by frustration. Simple concept makes this game easy to learn, and creates a desire to improve game score. Tiles have their own “personality” and this makes it a fun challenge to try and unlock them. Frustration kicks in as tile values increase and there is less room for additional tiles. Random tiles are added that result in game ending scenarios. Leaves little to strategy and cannot plan ahead. This is when the novelty wore off, and I became fed up of Threes. I’ll return to play it every once in a while, and hope that improvements have been made. And to quote one of the many tiles, “NOPE!”.

  • Fun Game
by The White Donkey on April 6, 2021 at 3:01 pm

This is a great game and my go to when I want to fidget in a line or while waiting for something.

  • Probably my most played game of all time
by matthamilplays on April 3, 2021 at 2:40 am

I’ve been playing Threes! since it was first released in 2013, and it’s undoubtedly one of my favorite games of all time. It’s a deceptively simple game and one that rewards careful, considered play. Almost a decade on, Threes! is still well worth your time!

  • Crash update - March ‘21
by lost another runner on March 10, 2021 at 2:06 am

The latest update causes the app to crash upon opening it, each time without fail. There is also a new glitch periodically when sliding numbers, just enough of a delay to ruin any rhythm you’ve got going. I’m on an older iOS, but no matter, please fix the latest update!!!

  • A simple challenge
by RadioJeff on March 8, 2021 at 2:42 am

I come back to this every so often and still find it satisfying. I haven’t mastered it. But every once in a while I have a great game that makes me want to keep trying. No adds or coins or other fluff. Just the game. Enjoy.

  • Quick mindless fun
    by Passport53 on March 2, 2021 at 1:22 am

Also, very clean app that doesn’t bug you with ads or ratings requests, just a fun way to waste a few minutes playing a puzzle gams

  • Simple Elegance
by wishing for better on March 1, 2021 at 9:44 pm

I was motivated to review by seeing some of the complaints on featured reviews. I have played this game daily for months and find it engaging and challenging still. Yes it took only a few minutes to get started, but every game draws me in to paying thoughtful attention and is a joy. I know there is more to learn still as I have still never gotten to the 3072 tile after playing over 1000 times. Maybe because I enjoy playing before I go to sleep. Maybe because I’m stupid. Who knows? This game does randomly choose the next tile to add, and uses some randomness in choosing where to add it. So you might feel like you are doing everything “right” and promptly lose. Randomness is like that. I like managing for this as best I can, and am ok with losing and starting again.

  • Still playing it
by _Karuji on March 1, 2021 at 7:38 am

I can’t remember when I first got threes, it was quite a few years ago. But it’s generally the first game I open up when I want to play a game, so would definitely say it’s something that’s given me years of joy 😁

  • Best few bucks I ever spent.
by JoeyChicago on March 1, 2021 at 3:29 am

I’ve been playing for almost seven years now and only recently got a new tile and it was one of the most satisfying experiences of my entire life. Threes rocks the tricky combination of simple and deep, and though you’ll know the rules right away and can guess early at some good general strategies, you can slowly get better for years, fine-tuning your approach and feeling yourself improving. If you’re stuck, keep at it! Few games feel as rewarding.

  • Hands down, the best iOS game
by mixmasterjones on March 1, 2021 at 2:44 am

I’ve played this since it came out. I have Apple Arcade. I play Threes more than any other game on my iPhone and on my iPad. It’s just wonderful; it totally zones me out, is charming in every way and has kept me interested for years. Buy it - skip the cheap imitations.

  • Simple game of addition
by Brokenthumbs on February 28, 2021 at 11:20 pm

What it isn’t: It isn’t an RPG, it isn’t a first person shooter, it isn’t MMO. What it is: At first it’s an easy game of matching numbers in multiples of 3, it’s a nostalgic throwback to a simpler time, and it’s the only game that makes math addictive. And after a few games you realize it’s harder than what you once thought, but, juuuuuuust maybe next time you’ll beat that score. Then you don’t, and you play again.

  • Great Timewaster
    by Peeps79 on February 28, 2021 at 8:53 pm

All these years later I still open up 3’s to waste some time. My average score is about 10,000 though I hit 20,000 once. I play hoping maybe this time I can best my score! It is fun and I dig it. Can’t imagine ever deleting this one.

  • Add a way to disable voices, please.
by SeANMcBAY on February 28, 2021 at 5:42 pm

    They’re very annoying.

  • Essential puzzle game
by Internet! on February 28, 2021 at 5:12 pm

A game that has never left my phone.

  • Great game
by Bram NYC on February 28, 2021 at 4:35 pm

I’ve been playing Threes for years. It’s the perfect simple game for a little distraction.

  • Easily one of my favorite games.
by DyZiE on February 28, 2021 at 3:38 pm

This game is an amazing warmup for anything brain heavy.

  • Many other games have come & gone from my phone
by Aviris on February 28, 2021 at 3:30 pm

Threes! is a great game for passing time in lines, walking, waiting, etc. It can also be a serious thinker and a bit stressful when you’re really going for the big score. There is strategy and visualization skills are important, but simple enough foe anyone to play. The deva have kept it fresh over the years as well, so it’s never left my phone (and they haven’t issued a “version 2” that is just version 1 with different colors so you have to buy it again, which I appreciate)

  • Part of my Brain Now
by Prolost on February 28, 2021 at 2:57 pm

This is the adult fidget toy of the millennium. I’m not sure my body knows how to pump blood through my brain without my finger on this game. It’s a brilliant, beautiful, maddening, glorious design. I’m 100% sure it’s the app I’ve used most, ever.

  • Tested over time
    by kwelch12 on February 28, 2021 at 2:38 pm

This is one of the only games I play every day, even years later. Such a clean concept, well executed, and lovely to play.

  • One of the Best iOS Games of All Time
by TRICKorDEVICE on February 28, 2021 at 1:54 pm

This is a game that I have consistently played since launch. It is one that I keep coming back to. The mechanics are great, graphics and sound are perfect as well. There are imitators, but this is the original and the best. Thank you for the consistent updates! This one should be in the iOS games hall of fame.

  • Years later still the best
by seanwolter on February 28, 2021 at 12:14 pm

This is the best mobile game (perhaps best overall game?) ever made. Other games have come and gone but I return to Threes again and again. The challenge remains. The intrigue remains. It’s a masterpiece for the ages!

  • Still one of the best
by BarbarianGeek on February 28, 2021 at 9:14 am

This is one of the games that will never leave my phone.

  • Amazing game
by estemationnation on February 28, 2021 at 2:23 am

I love this game so much! Feels like it keeps my brain sharp and helps me calm down when I’m anxious

  • Endearing and enduring
by zymase on February 28, 2021 at 2:18 am

Threes has been a mainstay in my library through four iPhones. It’s more than worth the price of admission. Enjoy!

  • A better casual puzzle game then Tetris
by Michael McCombie on February 2, 2021 at 3:04 am

Yes that might seem like a ridiculous statement but hear me out. Tetris’s time based mechanics make it difficult to play in those brief moments when you are standing in line at the grocery store or waiting for you coffee order. Threes has a turn based game mechanic which allows you to pick up and play throughout without worrying about being interrupted. It’s a fun, challenging, interesting game. I’ve probably played this everyday since 2015. It’s an all timer

  • Wonderful game!
by michlav on January 9, 2021 at 6:27 pm

I play this almost every night before going to sleep. Despite the fact that i still cant get past the 1536 tile, it’s quite relaxing for me.

  • I love this game. But the purchase version is not working!
by iCool VV on December 21, 2020 at 7:05 am

I love Threes! But the purchase version is not working on iPhone X nor iPhone 12 Pro. Well, actually it worked last night when I downloaded from App Store for my new phone. But today, it go back to the white screen. Not quite sure why. I tried to remove the app, even tried to repurchase it. It is just not working. The free version is working. But I have to watch the ads. Also the problem is I can’t play at some places with no cell service. Again, it is definitely a 5 star app. Please help me to make it work!

  • New update: pushed into Gamecenter
by Gobaers on October 13, 2020 at 2:07 pm

Love Threes, but with the latest update being pushed into Gamecenter automatically. Please remove this sticky behavior, it's very annoying.

  • Editing fun
by kingshizzle on September 23, 2020 at 4:06 am

This game has been on my phone nearly since release and I still enjoy it. The mechanics are extremely simple but have that timeless quality that make gameplay interesting. I’m writing this review now since I noticed the first update in a long time. I was disappointed though that the update didn’t include better hints about what and where the next piece will be. I agree with other reviewers that the hints are insufficient for skilled players, making dumb luck too large of a factor, especially in the complex endgame. Optional features to show the exact next piece and where it will land certainly won’t make the game too easy!

  • Extremely addicted to it!
by UnusualDominican on September 21, 2020 at 12:53 am

  • Been playing for years!
by mrncorbin on September 19, 2020 at 11:43 pm

Threes is the perfect blend of zen, cute and challenging, I have been playing since 2014 and disappointedly have still not seen the win screen.

  • Greatest Mobile Game of All Time
by dnsndoeknrnxkosne on September 19, 2020 at 1:49 pm

I just realized that after my hours and hours in this game I should leave a review. This is the perfect mobile game, both in its simplicity and feel — making it easy to jump in to a game while you’re idle — to its surprising depth of strategy that can be entirely captivating. The only thing I don’t like is when the “up next” is three different numbers, which feels like you’re too much at the whims of luck (although maybe it would be too easy otherwise). And that when coming from multitasking or unlock the app sometimes makes a move for me; I usually pause the game before I leave the screen just in case. Great stuff! Best money I’ve spent on a game to date.

  • Dark mode auto switch
    by Pi_Phi on September 18, 2020 at 8:07 pm

I love this game so much, but it annoys me every single time I use it that it doesn’t switch its color theme automatically based on my device settings

  • Favorite game for winding down
by Llauma on September 18, 2020 at 3:02 pm

I’ve been playing this game for years and still can’t get to the highest tile 🤣 and yet I’m still playing and still enjoy it. It may not be the most intellectually challenging or stimulating game out there, but it certainly is calming (for those complaining about “baby voices” just turn off the sound - haven’t had mine on in years). It’s my favorite way to wind down at the end of the day. Engaging enough to preoccupy my otherwise noisy mind, yet not too stimulating to prevent me from relaxing.

  • Love this game
by SolarChimes on September 18, 2020 at 6:34 am

It's amazing. There have been times when I have not been able to put it down and YEARS after having purchased it, I still find myself playing it. Simply one of the best iOS games I've ever played and it's insane you don't already own it.

  • Loved over the years
by Scott P. on September 17, 2020 at 11:52 pm

I’ve had Threes since a little while after it launched and it’s still perfect in its execution. Some tense COVID nights and there is nothing more captivating and simultaneously relaxing than this game. It’s quirky and delightful in so many ways. I love the characters behind each of the tiles and the general esthetic. Thanks for keeping the application alive.
