  • Good but Old Interface
by Bill Tech on 15 Dicembre 2021 at 23:57

If a modern interface the apps would be 5 starts.

  • Doesn’t work with MagSafe battery pack
by Zero---- on 8 Novembre 2021 at 22:21

I wanted to see how some stats on my MagSafe battery pack, but the app couldn’t detect that my phone was being charged. I tried changing the test configs to indicate it’s a wireless charger, but it still didn’t work. But does a good job with wired chargers. Overall good product, but wish it would work with wireless chargers too. Still, good stuff Andrew, keep up the good work.

  • Does not work on ipad in landscape mode
    by amk5amk on 1 Ottobre 2021 at 1:05

How disappointing in 2021 that someone designed an app that is not portable to landscape mode on an ipad - this is easy just regen the code to support it - - did you forget that people use iPads just as much as iPhones - too bad I paid my two bucks to have to find out this limitation. Yucky.

  • Not accurate at all!
by Rob oNe 87 on 22 Luglio 2021 at 10:37

If you compare the results to a Volt/Watt meter that plugs in between the charger and the phone you get actual results. The app is not reliable. It would show that I get 25.9 Watts from a 20 Watt charger?! Where as the physical meter tool reads an appropriate ~18/19 Watts... waste of money

  • Charging application
    by moosedrool68 on 7 Luglio 2021 at 1:28

This is the only charging application that I found that is decent for iPhone there are a couple of really good ones for android. Instead of having the testing mode, just have it moniter wall current, maximum wattage received to the phone. That way if the battery is not working properly you will know because you can see it in real time.

  • Solid app for the price
by BeIlerophon on 29 Maggio 2021 at 19:24

It does have a handful options for the user to configure for their own needs. I don’t think it’s super accurate but seems to be able to give you a reasonable idea. I have one confusion though: what is the difference between “Amperes” and “Amperes 3”? I purchased two apps already but it seems the new one does the same thing as this one but I cannot find any upgrade options…

  • Alarm
    by lucian8082 on 11 Novembre 2020 at 2:04

Alarm doesn’t work and I get no notifications as to my battery reaching a limit I set . I paid for this app for that very feature. 2 stars alarm doesn’t work

  • Used to work, now doesn’t.
by Robert Lynch on 9 Novembre 2020 at 5:05

Keeps reporting a charge rate of 51.75 watts on a 10.5 iPad Pro when connected to an 18W charger.

  • This Works Perfectly ( for me)
by muskokie on 1 Novembre 2020 at 17:31

There may be features you want that I haven’t noticed and/or missed. Probably some nifty features I haven’t thought of, but probably the person who wrote this app will add them is s/he hears from you about them and likes the idea. In the interim, this one’s still perfect for me. From a former nerd who can’t write code well these days but can still appreciate it.

  • Gimmick
by Urchent on 2 Settembre 2020 at 22:03

This doesn’t actually really measure anything. It just times how long your phone battery takes to go up 1% then guesses how much power that took. It varies wildly with how much other stuff your phone was doing even how strong your cell signal was effects the results. On top of that it takes a long time too. Ok for a free app maybe but for a paid app it should do way better.

  • Key stats made easy
    by _Sunny_K on 9 Agosto 2020 at 23:11

App makes it simple to measure charge speeds and compare cables and chargers.

  • Excellent for measuring charger capability. DETAILED REVIEW.
    by the_kevlar_kid on 17 Luglio 2020 at 17:05

—> UPDATED JULY 2020: Having used this app for well over a year now, I can say with an unwavering certainty that this is a very well thought out and well put together app amongst very few others in it’s category. I enjoy being able to test the reliability of my various charging cables, both USB.A & USB.C-to-Lightening as well a my USB.A & USB.C-to-USB.C cables I use for my 2020 iPad Pro 12.9”. Some of the more recent updates allow users to make more detailed notation of the tests performed, both about the cables used as well as the charging adapter used. — Keep up the good work Amperes Team! • BACKGROUND & A NEED FOR THIS APP: Following the release of the iPhone 8,8+, and X came the ability to "fast charge" your iPhone. Apple provided this feature only when utilizing an Apple original USC-C to Lightening cable, powered by a USB-C Power Delivery (PD) rated charging port capable of supplying 18w of power through the USB-C interface. • Despite Apple's 'requirments', dozens of manufacturers on Amazon claimed their USB-C-to-Lightning cables were "fast charge certified." This allowed the possibility of saving an easy $20 by forgoing the Apple cable for an aftermarket alternative. ❗️ Enter the Amperes app. ❗️ ➡️ This app was able to successfully determine that Apple's claims were indeed true; that only the Apple original USC-C cables would provide the claimed "fast charge" capability. Since that time, I have continued using this app to measure a large variety of charging blocks (or hubs or whatever...USB to AC units). • I have found it pretty interesting seeing how different brands of cables interact with iOS, how different qualities of USB converters deliver power, and even more so, how effectively the new "smart" Qualcomm QuickCharge 3.0 USB-A chargers work (the orange USB ports). 🤔 These are all details and topics I have never thought a second about, but after using this app, I have gained a lot of insight on the importance of quality charging equipment. Thank you Amperes developers for helping me gain this rather useless knowledge. 👍 Definitely recommend this app to test the condition of your cables and chargers. The newest version of the app has made phenomenal improvement to the usability and understandably of the information provided. Good job guys! I made sure to donate and "buy you guys a beer" lol Sidenote: The Qualcomm QC 3.0 claimed to communicate with your device to offer the maximum (or "ideal") amount of power to charge your device in the fastest possible fashion while still maintaining battery/device health. (versus potentially pushing to much power and damaging a device, or alternatively, pushing too little power resulting in poor charging performance) • I have determined that QC3.0 did not do anything different than a standard 12W-2.4A iPad charging base. Seems to be marketing hype.

  • Good job
by Lighthouse lance on 18 Maggio 2020 at 10:06

Does exactly what I wanted. Checks the charging speed of my devices to compare and know which cables and plugs are best. (Anker of course) Got a free app but it didn’t work. So paid the 2 bucks and worked right away with some other cool extras.

  • Battery capacity Don’t work
    by spawn208 on 21 Marzo 2020 at 13:05

The hole reason I bought the app was to be alerted when my battery is at a certain charge amount. However it does not alert me at the set charge number.

  • Doesn’t work
by typeocean on 12 Marzo 2020 at 22:32

Doesn’t read amps correctly. Tried with many different Apple power bricks And cords. They all read at 480-520ma only. Apple wouldn’t even refund my money when I put in a request.

  • Great App
    by Bday2010 on 27 Dicembre 2019 at 20:01

Awesome app. It met and exceeded my expectations

  • Awesome!
    by trich19 on 9 Dicembre 2019 at 19:33

I love being able to test my chargers and see how much power my device is pulling in. The developer responded very quickly to me as well

  • Waste of money
    by m rfocnrjri on 8 Dicembre 2019 at 1:09

Tried the compare wizard on an iPad Gen 7 using iPad charger base vs iPhone charger base. Battery was at 60% when I tried the test, which was in line with suggested testing zone. After an hour it still could produce a result. I gave up. Lame app. Don’t waste your time and money.

  • Very useful!
by Mike (cfi) on 17 Novembre 2019 at 4:23

Easy to use and provides a lot of useful information. I used it to test some new Lightning charging cables and found they were not as fast as claimed.

  • Ok
by Stephen Mccloud on 8 Novembre 2019 at 5:06

Considering Apple does not allow access to the charging data in IOS this is the best a developer can do at this time.

  • Great app but old interface was better
by tzm on 14 Ottobre 2019 at 3:28

Have been using for a year or so. App works great and does what it says. However the interface has changed so much with different icons and compressed its very hard to click on the right button. For example, now the test results only show you the results vs in the past you could see the info that went along with it all in one line. It’s a mess. Please consider bringing back the old interface.

  • Doesn’t work properly on iPhone 11 Pro
by kleekleeklee on 13 Ottobre 2019 at 17:45

I’m getting nonsense charger test results even when following directions carefully on my brand new iPhone 11 Pro. My wireless charger definitely isn’t outputting 68.53 watts.

  • Charging test results in total nonsense.
by hcvjyfhjgdcgfhkhdaj on 21 Agosto 2019 at 23:56

I tried it on the same charger 3 times in a row, was told vastly different currents each time. The results are clearly wrong/meaningless. Guaging the current pulled from different adapters was the one job I got it for, and it can't even handle it. I ended up just using my multimeter with needles attached. Also the user interface is a total train wreck.

  • Absolutely Amazing App
    by Ramos2905 on 6 Agosto 2019 at 12:59

I like having a multimeter for my iPhone! Powerful stuff.

  • Prefer previous layouts
by Jack Rodgers, Jr. on 25 Luglio 2019 at 15:11

Great app and use it for testing and reports. BUT ... the new layouts are terrible. I could see everything on one layout but now I have to pick an icon to view the data in a font that is 10 times too big. Bring back the more functional layout...

  • Too bad this can’t run completely in the background
    by quikyone6 on 2 Luglio 2019 at 17:55

I wish this could run in the background while you were still using the phone instead of having to leave the app open. It would be nice to be able to surf the Internet, text when needed, and check email etc. etc. Now anytime I get a phone call it resets the test. Kind of defeats the purpose...

  • Great Solution, Missing Some Features
by ѕтeғαɴ on 27 Giugno 2019 at 3:33

I’ve been using Amperes for nearly 2 years and can confidently say it’s the best solution for testing & comparing chargers I’ve come across! My only “complaint“ is there’s currently no option to save charger/wire names and therefore have to be re-entered on subsequent tests after quitting the app. It’s not the end of the world but certainly makes testing the same equipment more cumbersome.

  • Exactly what it says
    by Smiley'sMom on 27 Aprile 2019 at 14:51

I am very pleased with this app. I purchased it to test my Ventev 3 port wall charger. I suspected that it was not functioning at full capacity. Happily, I was wrong! One of the ports is very fast. Amperes tested all 3 of the ports. If I can figure out how to upload a screenshot of my results I will... I tested this on my IPad, which was at about 55 % charged. Here are Amperes’s results: **Port #1 is physically labeled on the charger “2.4A”. (named by me on the test as “Ventev 1” - for reference, if I successfully upload a photo). It took 122 seconds to charge 1% of the battery. 2602 mA. 13.01 Watt. **Port #2 is physically labeled on the charger “3A”. (named by me on the test as “Ventev 2”). It took 550 seconds to charge 1% of the battery. 577 mA. 2.88 Watt. **Port #3 also physically labeled on the charger “3A”. (named by me on the test as “Ventev 3”). It took 508 seconds to charge 1% of the battery. 625 mA. 3.12 Watt. There are some really negative reviews about this App, and I was nervous about trying it out. But the developer repeatedly responded with solid information, so I decided to take a chance. I am really glad that I did. I travel for pleasure only, and my 3 port charger is really nice in a hotel, to charge multiple units from the same outlet. I am glad to know it is working properly. ( I think I can only upload a photo on Amazon reviews- not here).

  • Nice metrics

Metrics are useful. User interface could use a revamp

  • Like the app
    by Aliccia-364465 on 24 Aprile 2019 at 2:48

A lot of functionality! And it works!

  • Don’t waste your money
    by cliff344 on 22 Aprile 2019 at 18:18

Tested against ruideng usb tester. App says charging rate of 7.5 watts, while actually drawing 12watts. This app doesn’t take into account battery conditions and other factors. Very generic. There’s nothing out there that will give you precise charging information other than a real USB in-line tester.

  • It has potential!
    by ★.MΞŦΛŁ|JΘKΞR.★™ on 18 Aprile 2019 at 23:27

The only app that I could find that works.

  • attention please 😔
    by koomy77 on 8 Aprile 2019 at 19:56

The error in the alarm is to lower the charging ratio you specify

  • Great app
by Charlie Howard on 6 Marzo 2019 at 6:41

This app let me find the best (and worst) wireless chargers, and showed the levels at which the phone charges the fastest (below 70%) and the slowest (mid to high 90s).

  • Great App
    by Lik7ilo3aneh on 7 Febbraio 2019 at 15:23

This application let me test 3 chargers and see the significance of the charging difference between the 3 I am impressed!!!!

  • The Best battery charging info app
by rxxdoc on 30 Gennaio 2019 at 23:03

At least this is the best battery charging info app that I have found. The programmer of this application constantly updates his product, and each version is greatly improved over the last version. If you wish to see what combination of charge and lightning connector works best, I believe this app is the one you are looking for. It was worth the $2.00 I spent quite a while ago, and the app is much improved.

  • Erratic results
by jonetkins on 22 Novembre 2018 at 6:48

Seems promising, but right now the results are too erratic to be useful. I had my iPhone XR connected to a 39W USB-C charger via a USB-C-to-Lightning cable, and the nonstop test cycled constantly back and forth between two completely different, but repeating, readings - 2648/13.25W and 1765/8.82W. I then tried it in my car on my 2.1A 5V adapter, and it cycled between 2648/13.25W and around 1324/6.25W. It seems that perhaps something needs tweaking for an XR running IOS 12.1.

  • Nice
    by Jcole76239 on 23 Ottobre 2018 at 22:58

Worth the upgrade. Keep it up

  • Useful, but lacking
by Bfegan on 17 Ottobre 2018 at 15:50

I bought this because I thought the tests would show the charging wattage just like the free version of Ampere does. However it only shows the result in mA. Which is disappointing because I'm using it to evaluate two wireless chargers that were sold based one their wattage output.. I don't know why the free version would have that and not the paid. Additionally, the "export results" button doesn't work at all on my iPhone XS.

  • Great App!!
by gtspeer on 15 Ottobre 2018 at 23:13

Thank You Andrew, this app is perfect for my needs. I have the new iPhone Xs Max with fast charge capability. I purchased several adapters, (usb-c & usb-a) & wireless in both formats. I’m testing various cables by different manufacturers. With your app I am able to test all combinations so I can use the accessories with the best results! Also the ability to label the tests helps me keep my results organized! Great app! Keep up the good work!

  • Very gratifying app
by brianimate on 14 Ottobre 2018 at 7:53

It’s very interesting to see the different rates at which the phone charges under different conditions. I love that I can name and describe each test for my records.

  • A piece of garbage!!!
    by evilcartman-the -original on 13 Ottobre 2018 at 2:53

The app just sits there in a loop just testing and testing and testing it takes forever and then doesn't do anything. There's no progress indicator and no way of knowing how long it's going to take or if anything is actually happening at all which it turns out nothing is. A worthless garbage app that's not worth the bits of storage that it takes up. This app is literally does nothing but show you an animated battery.

  • Test Time
    by 001010001010101 on 9 Ottobre 2018 at 17:24

More of a question than a long do the tests usually last? Mine seeming never end until I have to move photons to use it and the test days it’s been disrupted.

  • Amps????
by Audiophillak on 24 Settembre 2018 at 23:54

It’s called amperes, I expected to be able to see the actual amps that were coming into the iPhone. I could measure the time it takes to charge to a certain percent myself. Please add an incoming amperage readout. And voltage please! I will move it up to five stars otherwise you can get this same stuff for free.

  • It's good
by Amin Juhaba on 14 Settembre 2018 at 18:08

Works fine and does what it claims to do. I can recommend it

  • Very useful.
    by nika.korch2137 on 13 Settembre 2018 at 16:11

My iPad is too old so I haven't the monitoring function of the battery. This app helps me to evaluate the condition and see which apps "eating" the charge.
