Started my Camino Frances and as I could not use my phone the app was all but useless. Wi-Fi doesn’t exist in the Pyrenees or parts of rural Spain. What I needed was an app I could download and use regardless of Wi-Fi. A friend I was walking with put it best “this is an app designed by people who are Camino people not computer people”

Generally speaking, this is a very good app compared to others that I have used. Switching between pages can be a little clunky. I love the identified accommodations to pick from for which to stay. I am on my third Camino route and use this app every day. Keep up the good work.

If your going to walk the Camino, get to know this app. It’s the only one you will need! I love the stage planning feature as it helps to see what’s up ahead!

I’ve used this on the Norte, Primitivo, Portugues and to Finnestere. Wish I had used this on the French route!! It is the best for planning and finding suitable accommodations.

My wife and I hiked the Camino last July and this was a very valuable and helpful resource. I would highly recommend it.

Love this app, it allows you to plan stages, see hostels on the way and almost everything you need for El Camino. Really a must have app.

Selected the route from le Puy to St Jean. No route detail or map would download. Disappointed. Says it’s a free download, I guess you get what you pay for.

In the town of Villafrance Montes de Orca the link to La Alpargateria Country Lodge is broken. It throws you out of the app.

I use the GPS and map function of the app to follow the Camino and this works well. If the map had a scale it would be more useful, i.e. how far is the next village?

The app let you see distances between towns which helped to plan stops and meals. Made reserving lodging very easy and the maps with Google kept you from going to far astray. Only looked at my guidebook for comparison a few times. Highly recommended!!

Very helpful for finding places to stay along The Way Sometimes the search function didn’t work too my liking - overall a worthwhile App!

Hiking the Camino for the first time this month- I initially did not want to use an APP, but the map on Buen Camino provided guidance where the road signs were unclear. There were times when the names of this cities did not align with the guidebooks I was using, which made for some confusion.

Ditch your guide book, the Buen Camino app has it all. GPS, hostels, places of interest, alternative routes. It’s super intuitive and easy to use. I am now walking into France and have been looking for something similar but nothing compares. Best app ever !!! 5 stars

The App provides good basic information of the route. The maps and descriptions are adequate for basic information. I found the ease of use lacking in several aspects such finding your location on the maps when online. The present location marker should hi-lighted differently. The daily route maps should also indicate current location so one does not have to scroll through the whole list. The App also relies too heavily on “Bookings” for lodging suggestions. The iPhone app is not as user friendly as the android version.

Great app for the Camino and I used almost every day to locate places to stay or to check the altitude gain for the day. This is one of the better apps for the Camino!

Love this app and am grateful that it is provided at the free cost of FREE! Some suggestions: Make it so that you can (in one button) delete all the pre-set daily stages, and add your own. Make this a permanent change, one that the app remembers. As it stands now, every time I open this app I have to scroll through both MY daily stages that I set up, AND the pre-set daily stages to find my option for today. It makes the list twice as long and it is super annoying. If i delete the pre-set daily stages, EVERY TIME i open the app they are back! Add a base map to your Navigation option ‘How to Get Here’. The compass works great, but a base map with streets would make navigating cities SO much easier when you are trying to find a hostel, cathedral, etc. Add ability to write reviews for hostels, and for people to then read these reviews, rather than just 5 star rating. For example, I could then learn that one alburgue’s beds are particularly noisy over another’s... etc. Thanks for your hard work!

Have used this many times to estimate my distances and terrain. Really like being able to access off line.

Overall, pretty helpful. But the most helpful part, “planning your stage” has a massive bug that keeps repopulating stages you have deleted/removed. Very annoying to keep doing that, or trying to ignore stages that aren’t yours (they have default stages that just don’t die)

Mapas, albergues y mucha informacion muy util para el camino. Lo utilice desde Sarria a Santiago y fue estupendo.

This has helped mr prepare fir my Camino. I plan to use it while on pilgrimage.

The only thing that would make this app even more useful is adding km markers to the alburgues and towns so you can tell how far things really are, since the billboards are never accurate!

This app was really helpful and would highly recommend using it.

After 2weeks I still get notificatons about services in Roncevailles. Why? Not really an app, just a database of places to stay and see. Have to navigate manually to present position. Doesn't track progress or how far to go. Simply a database, a pretty good one. Probably more update than hard copy guide.

Although chose english as my preferred language, i keep getting pages that are entirely in spanish. Also, only albergues are listed as places to stay. Aren’t there pensions in some of the smaller places along the way? I would prefer not to do 20kilometers straight up in one day.
