  • Bad app, bad rental service

    The app was a nightmare. My password didn’t work and online reset didn’t work after an hour of trying. I had to call the number. The company was also awful. We tried to add a driver and they took that as reason to cancel the reservation and took no responsibility for doing it. And they did not then have any car available. That ruined a trip for a close friend who lost the chance to see the north.

    Excellent app, the truth is that I have used it about three times while I was in Spain and the Netherlands and I have been able to rent very nice and good cars at super low prices, the satisfaction with this app is complete

    Seems like a pretty useless app. All my details are online via the web. Login on web is with my member number but with the app is email and drivers license number. So cant the left hand and right hand get their act together. My first time booking on europcar hopefully they will have a record of tis when i arrive. Europcar dont launch an app if its not going to be working.

    Save yourself the hassle and never book with Europcar. I rented a car in Mexico City for a few days and even though my Amex covers insurance they didn’t accept it. A fairly reasonable price that I paid upfront, doubled at the counter. There wouldn’t be any refund either. Apparently you need to read the fine print. Companies doing business like that should be closed!

    I’m definitely using the same password that I use to login to the website via my password manager. On app, I get “Email and/or password is/are invalid”. Using my driver ID doesn’t help.

    Haven’t been able to create an account. App keeps giving me an Ooops error message. Save and leave doesn’t work, either. I have to keep scanning my ID and trying to complete the process.

    As others have experienced back in August, cannot sign into the app, but can sign into the website. The response to the previous complaint was to say that was not the experience the company wanted. Given it is now October, I guess it is the desired customer experience afterall!

    Booked through Travelocity and was told their insurance in invalid was then sold unwanted & unneeded insurance which is in contradiction to their code of conduct.

    Unfortunately the app has never worked. All locations are always closed at whatever time I enter, no matter the location or time. Try to create an account, at the end I always get an error message. Technical error, please try again later. Let me know when you actually have a working app.

    I was using my phone for navigation when Europcar entirely unprovoked popped up a notification covering my next turn. My phone won't show what it is now, but if you install this app, don't give it notification rights, it clearly can't administrate them.

  • Frustrating, Misleading & False Billing

    This app and Europcar failed on 3 counts. I will never use them again if I can help it. 1. The app doesn’t truly let you book the car you want, the picture is just a suggestion and that vehicle may not be there and you have no way to know, or what the company considers an „upgrade“ that they’ll offer you - 2. the location you select may or may not really be open when they say it will be — 3. and watch your credit card for false billing and charges for fuel! My experience started when I wanted to pickup in one town and return in another. The app said this was possible and confirmed by holding the full amount of money on my credit card, but I got a phone call the next day from one location saying they’d be closed. I checked online and it said they actually were open. Maybe they wanted to take a day off, but it screwed up my travel plans and it took several days for them to return the money on my card. Then I booked a Mercedes A Class, and when I got to the alternate location they said nothing was available and they gave me an „upgrade“ of a peugeot station wagon! which was a pitiful comparison and not what I spent the extra money for. In addition they wouldn’t give me a refund for a lower class because I’d booked through the app. Finally, I got a mysterious extra addon charge of 50 euro from Europcar Italy - another country that I was not even in - in addition to the full amount booking through this app. I called customer support which said they’d billed me for a full tank of gas, even though I’d come back with a full tank - and the check-in person marked that I had a full tank and it’s noted in my statement of return! To correct this, I had to email them my gas receipt, and then they’d give me back my money. Total nonsense! All in all, it made me realize I was dealing with a really incompetent company. They need to go back to basic business and business-ethics school and start from scratch. App included.

    Unfortunately after three tries at creating an account the app failed to allow me to create a new account. Now going to the web to create an account so I can rent tomorrow. Have a look at this bug on iOS 12.1.2.

    The Europcar application not working properly due to all my reservations not been included in my account dashboard which lead to send emails to fix this issue but still the reply does not even close to be fixed. You need to update all issue to deserve a 5 Star

    The app is great, easy to use. But even though I get emails for 10% off or 20% off there are no codes to put in the coupon code box. Will always book with Europcar because they are reasonable and always serve me well. But I’d like discounts if I can get them! Thanks

    This app doesn’t work on my iPhone 6S. When I launch it the error appears immediately “Ooops bad request”. Latest updates didn’t fix this issue. Disappointment. (((

    App is fairly easy to use but does not integrate will into the iOS ecosystem. I cannot access the previous booking after closing the app, annoying... App also missing options that are available when booking from the Europcar website, most notably the unlimited distance option.

    I made a car reservation online and downloaded the App so to have a place where to store all the details and of my car booking. On the plus side the App lets you add the details to your calendar. On the negative side the App doesn’t add the booking to Apple Wallet - while it should ad per last update - and, even more bizarre, if I use the App without logging in it finds my booking, if I log in it doesn’t find it and so I can’t store it in my dashboard. Please, fix this as for the rest the App works correctly, at least for me.

    The US on-line service is👎🏽👎🏽miserable; once you land in 👎🏽 Europe they demand two (!2!) different(!) Credit Cards, and at that they are very choosy, 👎🏿for instance refusing 👎🏿👎🏿👎🏿👎🏿👎🏿👎🏿👎🏿"Maestro"👎🏽which is 👎🏿a Europe-wide Credit Card ! – zero stars, if Apple 👎🏽would let me do it ! 👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽
