    I have trouble keeping a connection to the WiFi when using my phone or whe bc trying to play music via Bluetooth since it does not play what I want. Lol I didn’t even pay for the product but I was let down lol 🙁

    This app has major issues.. you can’t delete devices and a ton of people have the same issues... here are 2 dozen people saying the same thing: Search on for the Reddit thread on Google “ Zombie Devices that can't be removed”

    I love the convenience of using google home. It puts your tv, phone, weather, news, recipes and so much more right at hands. I don’t know how in the world I made it without it! Love, love, love it!

    You’d think that google would know what their doing after 10 chrome casts. But nope, YouTube still doesn’t work, apps still change volume with the app closed, the chrome cast ultra is utter garbage. It’s a shame that I wasted more money on google because it’s not like their illegally selling my data for more money anyway. Screw google.

    Google devices don’t coordinate. I can tell one device one thing and it will do it. But I tell the app the same thing and it acts like it’s never heard anything like it. It should all synchronize.

    The Google home app has trouble controlling the volume on devices. You can take an app and stream music and control the volume through that app, like Spotify, but at the same time you won’t be able to control the volume in the Google home app. You can find lots of threads online and it’s a long standing issue that Google seems to ignore. Controlling lights is usually pretty reliable and it seems more an issue with the CE by G light bulbs I use. Connecting to my Nest thermostats and SimpliSafe is very reliable.

    You’ll spend most of your time redoing things constantly and it never works the way it’s supposed to, just like everything google does beyond email and search engines.

    Our internet service provider changed our wifi connection and now Google Home app wants us to factory reset our iPhones so we can use my Google Chrome device. Not happening! That needs fixed without people having to factory reset their phones.

    Again. No routines working etc. SmartThings breaking. Alexa and MyCroft still Sync’d up and ready to rock. Keep up google. I use your product way more. But not for much longer if you keep breaking it.

    Either do a competitive landscape to see what others do and you’re missing or stop being so controlling about what functionality and capabilities you allow your users to access. Simple things like triggers for automations are available in almost every other app but not Google. It’s like you are spoon feeding features and keeping everything locked down until you get it absolutely perfect in every way for every possible user before releasing the functionality. Definition of missing good enough chasing perfect and getting left behind by the competition as a result.

    I set up my Bluetooth speaker to be the default Speaker for my google home. It disconnects at least 4 times a day. No problems with the speaker itself - brand new and connects to Bluetooth directly. It’s the google home app that SAYS it’s connected to the speaker but still plays music off my google home. And even resetting it, it will say “Something went wrong. Try again” every single time. It will work for a few hours and I’ll have to go through this process all over again. I looked through the help articles and it seems others are also having this problem also, to no avail.

    UPDATE: The rooms that show up when you click lights has the ON OFF buttons way too close to each other. I've accidently turned on the wrong lights so many times because the buttons are so close and so small. Everything is too small in this app. The app is great but I can't give more than 3 stars for an app that has the smallest volume control button I have ever seen in an app. I have to zoom into the screen to be able to change the volume using the iPhone accessibility for people with bad eye sight lol what a joke. Please change the slider to something more usable on mobile.

    I’m not sure if the speakers are bad or if it’s mainly the app but this home app makes it even more frustrating to manage my speakers. I can’t update alarms or control the light on the speaker or the volume of the assistant and a few other annoying things. You’d think the app would be better by this point. It’s to the point where I’m about to switch to home pods from Apple. Edit: to the developer response: that solution doesn’t work and it’s the same thing that has been said in a forum already. It’s not helping and it’s frustrating that you can clearly see in just that conversation that so many people have this problem but you won’t fix it. How is this still happening??!

    Im trying to set up my google home and it keeps saying to connect to the internet, I'm already connected to the internet so I was confused on why it was telling me this. I did the process over and over and over again. I am losing my patients with this thing!! I like Amazon Alexa better than this piece of junk!

    Using the mesh WiFi and this app for pausing WiFi on kid devices WAS handy. Now it doesn’t appear to work. You hit “pause” next to the device on the list and it gives you a busy spinner then does not show it paused the device. However now the chromebook I was trying to pause cannot use the internet even though it is connected to the WiFi. I have rebooted the WiFi, the chromebook and even deleted and reinstalled this app and it still won’t let it use internet. It would be nice if I could roll back the app updates to the previous one that actually worked. Does Google not employ testers to test the updates before forcing them on paying customers?

    Very convenient as Google always is! Enjoying. The only thing I wish for - is to be able to play the PBS APP as well as others. I don’t know if it’s user error or Google doesn’t accept it.

    Went on a trip with power off. Came back, and Chromecast no longer sends Disney to TV. Goggle Home had to be redone, and still no connection. Have cute google name in corner of screen but no way to access. Chromecast does not appear in Google Home... Yuk.

    Updated 2020-11-04 I have decided to give up on my Chromecast devices because of the insistence by this app that I allow it access to the GPS on my iPhone. I have repeatedly attempted to contact someone at Google without success to express my concerns about what I see as an invasion of my privacy. At this point my plans are to purchase new devices from another company that does not require what I view as an invasion of my privacy. In fairness to Google Home, it is not the only app that has this view but for me it is a deal killer, especially as I was able to configure my Chromecast devices for several years without providing this access. Updated 2020-08-10 I just tried using the Google Home App on my iPad (running iPadOS 13.6) & tried to reconfigure one of my Chromecast devices so I could put a TV in my garage workshop. It appears Google is still DEMANDING my location in order to setup Chromecast. I was hoping that since the Google Home App had recently been updated that their “Every Breath You Take” (a song about an obsessed ex-lover by The Police) had changed. Sadly it has not. Below is the feedback I sent Google via the Google Home App ==================== My location is NONE of your business! I am wanting to move a TV with a Chromecast unit to my garage. That area is served by a different router & to change routers on the Chromecast I have to use the Google Home app. The process of setting up a Chromecast has gotten progressively more invasive of my privacy over time. When I first purchased the devices I have, I could set them up by typing the code from the TV screen onto a web page on a computer. The current mechanism now requires the app be run on my phone with Location Services enabled. As initially I could setup my Chromecast devices without providing my location, this degree of invasive access is clearly unwarranted. I have ordered replacement streaming hardware from another company that does not have a “stalker” mentality. =================== If you place any value on your privacy you do not want the Chromecast or any other hardware that requires the Google Home App to configure. Updated 2020-05-28 Until tonight I had been fairly happy with the Chromecast devices & how the Chromecast ecosystem works as a whole. Granted, I was not happy about the change removing the ability to setup a Chromecast device using a computer (this was not a major issue but I tend to use whatever device is handy & did not appreciate the fact I can no longer use the keyboard on the computer in front of me but must unlock my iPhone or iPad & start the Google Home App.) I noticed a recent update to the Google Home App & either I missed the announcement or there was no notification, that now it requires Location Services to be enabled to to setup a Chromecast device. As I have had Chromecast devices for several years & have had to do the setup more than once, the requirement to provide location is unwanted. I will be looking into other means of sending video content to the TVs in my house & this will probably end my buying movies from the Google Play Store. If I am mistaken about the requirement for location services I welcome a correction from Google & I will amend this review.

    Horribly buggy. Missing menus, clicking on “save” receives the unhelpful response, “something went wrong, try again”. I tapped “save” 100 times and always got the error message... try again. I was so frustrated by this app I wanted to throw my phone at the window! I have a computer engineering degree. If you don’t, give up befor it gives you a heart attack from frustration. I expect ease of use from Google. This misses by a mile.

    I didn’t have any problem signing into my cam since I got it a year ago. For the last month I have not been able to sign on so my camera just sits there not being used. I ordered a trial for nest aware and I can’t use that. Can’t get any assistance from google either.

    I bought nest cameras and smoke alarms for the quality and ease of use. Since Google has bought Nest, setting up and using is almost impossible. Shame on you. I want a refund

    Bought a chromecast, can only install it using this app (lame how I can’t do this using a laptop or computer or say... any other method on earth), follow all the instructions and the app can’t find my device. I factory reset it and tried everything. Pathetic.
