  • Peak Visor
    by CO.Bushmaster on 22 Giugno 2022 at 23:20

Found a tutorial. Can’t get to first suggested action!

  • Poor coverage
by Scott Hartsel on 14 Giugno 2022 at 19:29

At least half the time I can’t get a reading.

  • Valuable tips for trying the app (+ my experiences)
    by d009009sel on 30 Maggio 2022 at 19:02

Here are my tips for success[fully giving this app a try], along with my experiences and what I did. (#1) Put aside the rotten smell you get when you go into an app for the first time and it tells you you need a subscription to “Unlock PRO” features. ***Here’s what I did: I held my nose and kept going.*** (#2) Of course, you can get a “free trial”, but this requires you really see the value after the little seven day blip you’re given. All those “PRO” features? Better experience and appreciate them within seven days, or you’ll really be regretful you were successfully arm twisted into committing your hard-earned money. If, like me, you’ve been burned in the past (perhaps more times than you’d like to admit) by this revenue model to what would turn out to be yet another fly-by-night piece of app, you would be wise to try the “free” functionality. ***Here’s what I did: I didn’t commit to fork over money for something I wasn’t sure had value, knowing that a truly valuable app should be able to successfully communicate its value through free functionality. I went forward with the free version.*** (#3) Try to not roll your eyes too far into your head when you are told you only get to look at ONE location per day without forking over that not insignificant amount of money. You’ll need those eyes to see the app’s interface, and decide, based on the albeit kneecapped functionality whether to open up your wallet. ***Here’s what I did: I closed my eyes and gently rested my fingers on my eyelids before my eyes could get too far back.*** (#4) Oops! Did you accidentally try to evaluate the kneecapped free version before going to the place you wanted to actually benefit from using it? Like in the mountains? Paradoxically, you might also consider that in those mountains, you never had good signal, and needing to download the data required for your “one free location” was not possible. So you have two options if you want to be sure you can not be arm twisted into paying money so you can decide whether this app will bring you value. Option one: bail on your plans for that day so that you can make use of that generously granted “one free location” at your actual destination. But be sure to plan ahead! And get that data before you go out of range! Actually, that’s it… there is only one option. ***Here’s what I did: I deleted the app.*** ———BOTTOM LINE: There are significantly better apps. This one is simply not worth the trouble or stench. Preserve your serenity by heeding the other critical feedback you see.———

  • Mountains don’t have wifi.
by clicknathan on 1 Maggio 2022 at 13:51

The app is definitely cool…except that it’s always trying to download data. I have primarily used it in a 5 mile radius of my home, as I live at 9000’ or so in SW Colorado, but every time I open it, it wants to download data. I barely have service at my house let alone up in the forest. When I see “downloading 1.2k or 10.9mb” I remember to chuck my phone into the abyss off the ogre’s last good eye.

  • Doesn’t work unless you have pro

  • Waste of money
by Meditatin' Fool on 3 Aprile 2022 at 17:06

Doesn’t work. I was NW of Denver and pointed NW to identify Longs Peak and it first didn’t identify it then it told me it was Pikes Peak. Don’t waste your money on this app

  • So far not impressed
by Slyrod on 1 Aprile 2022 at 19:50

There’s so much potential for this app, but it rarely works properly. The outlines of the mountains are always slightly off. Some mountains are left out. The downloading of the local data to get the mountain names and heights takes a really long time. I really wanna like this app but somethings got a change to make it better.

  • Not good
by maddddddddddddddddddddddddie on 28 Marzo 2022 at 16:05

Won’t download unless connected to WiFi. This app really struggles to identify peaks correctly, tries to tag clouds and even landmarks as peaks. Not reliable.

  • Overload
by Walkin fiend on 23 Marzo 2022 at 16:47

Downloading for 2 days. Still not downloaded. Can’t use it yet. Disappointing

  • Not good
    by Jennajf9 on 9 Marzo 2022 at 23:07

Honestly, what is the point if you can’t use the app for free away from wifi. It’s to identify mountain ranges

  • Not worth the hassle
    by zakpat21 on 6 Marzo 2022 at 22:14

The free version is incredibly limiting on a per day usage. So I just said, ok, I’ll splurge, because I’m new to the Pacific Northwest and have a drive through the cascades that I’d love to identify peaks. It’s been terribly inaccurate the entire day. A huge waste of money for me, and no option for a free trial or monthly subscription.

  • Frequent crash with latest release
by Emadpres on 4 Marzo 2022 at 8:56

I'm facing frequent crashes when playing in 3D map.

  • Didn’t seem to know even which direction I was facing.
by mindful in sf on 2 Febbraio 2022 at 0:14

Where is peak that everyone in the area knows. The app even identify it and listedMountains 100s of miles away. Pretty useless if you want to know the Hollis around you

  • Great app!
    by mtrees90 on 30 Gennaio 2022 at 3:47

If you love mountains, peaks, valleys, creeks, etc. and hike a lot, this is the app for you. I use this app along with other apps like all trails and google to find new parks and hikes. I like the travel logbook feature as well. Great app.

  • Can’t read
    by andyj55 on 11 Gennaio 2022 at 15:49

  • Updates take wayyy to long to download
by BryJur USA on 14 Novembre 2021 at 22:49

Expensive, Google Earth is free and is faster figure out peaks.

  • Peaks off by 5-60°
by baryonicminority on 17 Ottobre 2021 at 13:26

Worked great once; second and third times the peak IDs were off by 5 and 60°. Uninstalled.

  • The world of mtb thanks you
    by ddubb4 on 16 Ottobre 2021 at 14:47

This is the most incredible app. It’s been years since I’ve downloaded an app with this much detail and accuracy. An app worthy of the price.

  • Seems good, but won’t line up
by tielgirl on 16 Ottobre 2021 at 13:57

Can’t get this thing to stay lined up with the mountains I’m seeing. Keeps shifting by about 90°

  • Slow
by Chacochick on 21 Settembre 2021 at 19:11

Very slow to download vicinities. Can only use within excellent cell range and well, if you’re in the mountains, you likely aren’t within good cell range.

  • I DETEST SUBSCRIPTIONS!
by TravisAK on 4 Settembre 2021 at 11:33

Please just figure out what a fair price is for the app (high or low) and I’ll pay it. I am overwhelmed with monthly subscriptions and will not buy anymore. I would gladly pay whatever you consider a fair price to own it. It’s getting out of control. Too bad because it appears that the full version is amazing. 🙁 9/4/21 Any consideration given to a one time fee? If you think people would be deterred due to the price I think you would be surprised. Of course you can keep the monthly/annual purchase option, but I want a one and done price. After spending a little bit of time with the free portion of the app I am sure it is worth whatever you would need to charge for a on time fee. Tanka for considering this request.

  • Hard to figure out
    by Dimples #1 🙂 on 11 Luglio 2021 at 22:30

I was so excited about the app but it is not as user friendly as it looked on the trial. I thought you could point it to a mountain peak to identify the mountain but I am not finding it that easy to use now that I have subscribed..... sorry I am just a beginner.

  • I use world peaks
by Jrmstarwars on 10 Luglio 2021 at 1:29

I use world peak because you have to have premium to do a lot here

  • Difficult to use
    by O lineman on 3 Luglio 2021 at 13:49

Cumbersome… Very cumbersome to use. This is a very difficult out to use and continually wants to “download the vicinity“. I quickly grew tired of every single time I opened the app it wanted to “update“. It uses an outline type system that you have to line up with the peaks that can be cumbersome if you are at any sort of distance.

  • Only 1 peak per day for free version!!
    by jjggss69 on 5 Giugno 2021 at 14:41

    One peak per day?????

  • The Bitterroot mountains
by drawnivek on 3 Giugno 2021 at 17:07

Peaks in central Idaho are listed as being in the Bitterroot range. Those peaks are in the Salmon River range. The Bitterroot mountains do not extend south of the Salmon river.

  • Pick your use
    by LJack83 on 24 Febbraio 2021 at 22:55

I read a glowing review of this app, so I downloaded it and tried it today. I couldn’t get everything to lineup and so I decided to try it later, but you can only use it once a day! Worthless-glad I didn’t pay!

  • Lousy
by No Name Needed Ned on 20 Febbraio 2021 at 18:03

Doesn’t work. Can’t orient itself correctly to the horizon. Shows the wrong names most of the time. Terrible.

  • identifying peaks
by Thirdreefa on 14 Febbraio 2021 at 3:18

i hike in the mountains and really enjoy identifying the peaks surrounding me. It gives me a sense of where I am and where I am going.

  • App won’t open
    by Cabbit777 on 11 Febbraio 2021 at 5:07

I liked this app but it no longer opens. It flashes a load for like 2 seconds and then just crashes and closes. No error message, nothing. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling, still doesn’t load.

  • 3.55 version problem

  • This Will Get a Lot of Use
by sisselhardt on 5 Febbraio 2021 at 21:57

We just moved to the North Carolina on the side of a mountain and plan on doing lots of exploring. So far it works great.

  • App will not open
by Trniner on 30 Gennaio 2021 at 2:50

Well can’t review the app since it won’t open. Download and when I click Tom open it shows the Matterhorn and height and then crashes. Tried over a dozen times. Guess I won’t be using/buying this.

  • If you’re a hiker/geography nut, you’ll love this app.
by guymystere on 23 Gennaio 2021 at 17:16

I love this app. I use it all the time on hikes. If you’ve ever wondered, “hmmm... what is that mountain over there” you’ll like this app. I’ve downloaded all the mountain ranges that I frequent. It helps me have a better idea of which mountains I want to climb and where they are in relation to myself. Great app!

  • Great app!
    by Katherine.Ann.666 on 27 Dicembre 2020 at 12:28

If I lived somewhere more mountainous or traveled more, I’d probably pay for it.

  • Not even close
by know my peaks on 6 Dicembre 2020 at 19:18

Tried the trial run. Locations were almost a full 180 degrees off

  • Used to be great
by JimmyJoeJimmyJoe on 19 Novembre 2020 at 22:49

Now when you're on a peak, it's asking you to login and claim a peak. Don't care about this. Please disable this by default. It's actually making me want to delete the app and buy another. It's gone to inapp purchases. Sad.

  • Amazing!
by Haninay on 14 Novembre 2020 at 20:10

I had a problem with the app. My issues were completely fixed in the update today. They also sent me the most helpful video. Fantastic customer and really cool app.

  • Great app and fantastic support

  • Too difficult to read

  • Peaks
by SheaRacingTeam on 15 Agosto 2020 at 19:40

We are having a problem with the peaks moving around a lot, so not to accurate. Adirondacks

  • Incorrect readings
    by val4553 on 14 Agosto 2020 at 22:36

This app was giving me the names of peaks that were 400 miles from where I was in Colorado. It’s not easy to read either. I just had a rough time with it.

  • Great
by tommmmmmmmmmmggggg on 27 Luglio 2020 at 18:05

I’ve been backpacking in the mountains for about 30 years using Maps then handheld GPS and phone enabled GPS, and I just added this product to my quiver. I really like it a lot. The core functionality is that it lets you superimpose the horizon line and the names of peaks onto your phone screen when you have your camera viewfinder enabled. This works well and I have learned the names of a lot of features that I have been looking at for years without knowing what they are called. You can download these photos with the labels on them. You can also upload a picture and The app will add labels— assuming the photo is geotagged. The final feature that I will mention is the virtual terrain mode, which allows you to “see over” ridges. All this has really added to my understanding of the mountains that I backpack in southern Idaho. Highly recommend.

  • Would like to use manually
by tilehate on 26 Luglio 2020 at 15:45

Many would like to use the app manually with location services turned off, giving the ability to research and explore. This app is completely inoperable unless it is turned on.
