  • Horrible camera horrible app
by KFGM on 2020-03-15 at 12:39 AM

Just when I thought the Coolpix camera couldn’t get any worse, it did with this crap app. Thanks for nothing Nikon!

  • iPhone XR incompadable
by NannyPauley on 2020-01-12 at 7:12 PM

This app works great on my old android phone. Will not connect to my new iPhone XR. I am very disappointed.

  • No Support for Windows, Poor documentation, Useless App!
by TowandaG on 2019-12-25 at 3:46 PM

This product is basically useless. I am less than impressed with the quality of the videos, and photos. The app doesn’t work for me in Windows 10, Samsung Note 10+ or IPad Pro11. I’m sure with much attempts and effort it may eventually start connecting to the Keymission 360 camera, but at this point I am beyond frustrated. I should have just purchased the GoPro!

  • 30 years of owning nikons. This app has me abandoning Nikon.
by Simon Says! on 2019-11-06 at 9:32 PM

I ordered my 360 before they were released. Big mistake should have waited to find out that the phone interface is impossible. I’ve owned this camera for over 3 years and it has never successfully paired to the app.

  • Why not D810?
by inkstainedwretch ,retd. on 2019-10-06 at 11:34 PM

Nikon’s corded remotes cost as if made by Hassablad. And I have utterly no interest in d/l’ing 36MPix raw images to my telephone. What I do want is a FULL remote control via Bluetooth- and I’ll give up my SD slot for one if Nikon won’t make a 10-pin plug-in about the size of a hearing aid. I DON’T see any need for wi-fi’ng a camera except to give folks a chance to nuke your settings or find you and your gear. But Bluetooth has just the power and distance + low power usage to turn an I-phone into a remote, capable of setting every bell and whistle on up to the D8xx cameras and any future “pro” products (these days, a D810/850 with extended battpack - now almost always tossed in free. As for image exchange- a phone can make a decent viewfinder too - just doesn’t have the space for full image storage, and I’m not foolish enough to trust my work product/IP to a hole-y cloud. If you don’t understand, ymmv, then again you may be fool enough to use Facebook.

  • Horrific!!
by dedrekon on 2019-08-20 at 9:17 PM

I wish I could give it zero stars....the ability to interface directly with my iPhone is a big part of the reason I bought my Nikon camera. NOTHING on this app works, it's one of those succubus apps that devours your time and energy and never . I contacted Nikon support and they were absolutely worthless as well. Try this, try this, try this.....then finally, it must be your phone. Nikon is well aware that this app doesn't work, just read the reviews. They obviously don't care.

  • Slightly Slow but Works Well
by Queen Kamehameha on 2019-08-13 at 3:56 AM

This is an initial review since I received my Nikon Keymission camera recently. I was hesitant to purchase the Keymission 170 due to the plethora of poor reviews regarding the connectivity to the app. After reading the instructions AND following them, I had no issues. Step one was making sure my camera had the firmware up to date. This is critical when pairing with the app. Once done, the camera linked to my phone and everything worked (iPhone X with iOS 12.4 installed). There is a slight learning curve as the app doesn’t work as smoothly as I think it should but it is not so horrible that it deserves 1-2 stars. If you expect immediate results out of the box without a little reading and research, the Nikon series action cameras are not for you. Otherwise, great camera and app. I plan to follow up this review once I have used the camera/app for a few months.

  • WiFi disconnects between App & Cam!
by Pcenginefx on 2019-01-05 at 10:48 PM

Updated my Nikon Keymission to FW v1.5 and app version is 1.1.3. When going into liveview mode the WiFi connection between my phone (iPhone 7+ with iOS 12.1.2) will disconnect every time within 10 seconds. Please fix this issue as it is the only way I can liveview the camera!

  • It’s great overall!
by Ricardo Quinones on 2018-11-25 at 3:53 PM

The app functions great overall... just keep your Bluetooth on and youre good! If you DO try to remote control your camera just make sure you’re running on your network and you’ll be fine! Aside from that photos do take a few seconds to tops maybe 2 minutes depending how many were taken. But take my word this app is great✌️😎

  • Remote photography function not working with iOS 11.3
by Pixonti on 2018-10-30 at 8:52 AM

Updated review: this app has not been working with iOS 11.3 or later, it will start and go through all the steps to connect, but when attempting to preview using remote photography, which is the only way to use the phone as a remote. The app will lose connection with the camera moments after the preview starts. Despite the fact that this has not been working for months now, and there was just a recent update to the app, but instead of a fix, it is a work-around. The camera is still not working properly with the app. I have the Nikon Keymission 360 camera and use it extensively. It's a great camera but requires the use of this app to effectively use the camera properly. There are several limitations with the app though. Since I use an iPhone to connect to the camera the app must be started and you go through several steps to connect via Bluetooth, only to then connect to the camera as an access point. This has improved, but still takes a while. And if you want to take a few pictures in a row, you have to leave the app open and the phone on. If you put your phone to sleep or your screen goes dark, you have to go through the process of reconnecting to the camera all over again. This drains the battery very quickly. While you can take photos and videos with the cameras buttons directly, the metadata of the images captured this way will not contain location or day/time info. The metadata is borrowed from the phone's location, day and time then transferred to the images when connected to the camera. So it is almost essential that you use the app if you want this metadata. The app will also download photos from the camera to the iPhone directly, even the full high res versions fairly quickly, but the name of the photos is "temporary.jpg" and not the number of the image on the card. While this is not a big deal, I have found that the temporary images downloaded this way have to be deleted from my phone before pulling images from the card. Otherwise the images downloaded from the card may not replace the ones downloaded from the camera to the phone, as they contain the same date/time stamp. I prefer the image names to be what the camera named them, instead of "temporary.jpg". If you do not want them downloaded to the phone, and always just download them from the card to a computer, this is not a big deal.

  • Lost connection to camera 🤬😡🤬😡😤

    Lost connection to camera 🤬😡🤬😡😤

  • Simply unacceptably awful
by wintersarrival on 2018-10-17 at 10:41 PM

Don’t even bother trying unless you’re using an outdated version of iOS. FIX THIS APP, Nikon. SHAME ON YOU.

  • Less than 1 star
by jaypotvin on 2018-09-20 at 8:55 PM

There are so many expletives I want to write right now but won’t. This camera is the most frustrating camera I’ve ever purchased. I will never buy any product with the Nikon name on it ever again. First and Last purchase. The app doesn’t sync, the camera doesn’t work, it’s one of the biggest pieces of $&@#%*+€£¥{[#! I have ever bought. I agree with the other review here. There should be a recall on this camera, Nikon should own their failure of a product. $600 down the drain.

  • Terrible app
by BrockDiesel on 2018-09-17 at 4:53 PM

This app is terrible. There are severe bugs with basically every feature. Even if the bugs were addressed, the performance is awful. To download photos from the camera, you need to connect to the camera’s private WiFi network - but full res photos can still take more than 5 minutes to download - and forget videos with any significant duration. Once you *do* get things downloaded, the app’s photo library sorts completely inscrutably (in what appears to be random order), so you likely won’t be able to find the photos you just downloaded. The entire app is so slow that it’s borderline unusable. I generally just use USB or a card reader to get data off the camera - it’s orders of magnitude faster/easier.

  • Bad app, decent camera
by Noahbalboa on 2018-06-26 at 1:57 PM

The app has been laden with bugs from the beginning, and still does not appear to work reliably with the newest iOS updates. But, the camera is good. Seriously, all Nikon has to do is spend a little time on this app... come on... pretty please?

  • Nikon must be killing this product
by candlena on 2018-04-26 at 1:55 PM

0 stars. Don’t unpack this camera-return it. Nikon’s lax attitude and poor communication regarding problems with the app/wifi makes me think their commitment to the product is dead.

  • Keymission 360 rip-off
    by Dee2761 on 2018-04-17 at 2:42 AM

The lowest star I can give is 1 and this camera and app does not deserve a star. I passed up buying the Theta V 360 only because of the Nikon brand name and I was sooooo wrong. I currently have a Keymission 360 paperweight sitting on my desk collecting dust because this camera is not useable (camera is not broken or have any physical damages). The only thing that’s broken is my trust in Nikon for releasing this failure. I think Nikon owes ALL Keymission owners a refund and an apology.

  • Fix this!!
    by sugar6839 on 2018-04-09 at 4:36 PM

    11.3 not working!! Ugh!!

  • By far the worst camera and app by Nikon
by Heart breaker 1 on 2018-02-21 at 9:25 AM

Don’t waste your time or money buying neither the camera key mission 360 or the app it’s just Impossible to pair it !!!!!

  • Bad App..
    by bmv91w on 2017-11-02 at 5:25 PM

I have the Nikon Keymission 360/170, and the Iphone 6, with everything updated, and bluetooth enabled..camera works, but can’t get it to pair with my Iphone...so..I can still use the camera, but no viewfinder per se..

  • Doesn't work. Deal breaker.
    by Sonic-Zen on 2017-10-27 at 1:21 AM

I only use the camera in stand-alone mode now, because this app never works. I found some settings that work for me in the camera, and I'm leaving them like that. I can't change the settings because this app doesn't work consistently and I don't want to get stuck with the wrong settings loaded. Buyer beware.

  • Very frustrating.
by Piercedirish on 2017-09-21 at 1:53 AM

I gave the app one star because it installed and opened. It will not connect to my Iphone 7 or and older Android S5 making it useless. Back to GoPro maybe???

  • Poop
by Graphiv on 2017-08-19 at 5:09 AM

Worst app in the history of apps. Come on Nikon get your act together!

  • Bluetooth Level Requirement
    by Ab7gerry on 2017-08-11 at 10:47 PM

Lots of frustration and entropic process Getting this to work with my Nikon D3400 -> Older devices with Bluetooth Level less than 4.0 will not and cannot link -> Must have later model iPhone, iPad...etc -> BT is embedded in firmware and cannot be upgraded. -> When used later BT, linking worked as expected..and image transfer really great -> Still unresolved is latest D3400 firmware requiring Nikon encoded batteries. Prohibits at least for now use of lower cost 3rd party batteries

  • Does not connect
by NICOLEDONE on 2017-05-26 at 4:36 PM

I have wasted hours trying to connect my camera to the app and it always fails this is such a waste of money buying this camera I want my money back Nikon!

  • Worst product ever
by Tahoe Dave on 2017-05-24 at 11:02 PM

How embarrassing for Nikon in today's day and age to come up with such horrible connectivity. After messing with it for two days the customer service rep at Nikon basically told me it's unfixable and I should just return the product. I guess I'll look at the 360fly 4K camera!

  • Worthless
by Nanadlee on 2017-05-21 at 4:50 PM

Waste of time. Does not work.

  • Poor app
by Nathaniel Cohen on 2017-05-15 at 9:41 PM

The system is not intuitive at all. Will not recommend this device, waste of time and money.

  • Never worked
by Doggodhog on 2017-05-13 at 10:15 PM

You will waste your time trying to get this app to work. I reinstalled it several times I tried the troubleshooting but no luck. Too bad as I was excited to get my new cool pix B700 linked to my iPhone to use for image storage in remote areas away from any wi-Fi. Will have to stick to my solar charger to keep the camera charged and bring lots of SD cards 🙁

  • Doesn't deliver
    by Kollie7 on 2017-05-09 at 1:54 PM

Tried countless times to get my Coolpix 500 to connect with SnapBridge with no success. Called Nikon service. They said the current version of SnapBridge isn't compatible with IOS 10.3.1.

  • This app has a lot of releases to go through
    by Zee4s on 2017-04-30 at 5:35 AM

The quality of this app reminds me of apps from the first generation iPhone/iOS. Nikon you have a long way to go before this will really work well with the camera. It's very buggy with lots of disconnects. Not easy to connect to the camera and stay connected. Lots of problems downloading photos. Can't download images from camera to phone in background mode or with the screen off.

  • Zero stars
    by fisha20 on 2017-04-30 at 1:16 AM

Googled and tried every tip & trick out there. Still can't pair and download pics from my camera to phone. Worst app. Get with it Nikon.

  • Awful
by thesurfrider on 2017-04-25 at 3:28 AM

This is the worst experience I've ever had with any camera product and software. I'm a professional photographer and can't believe it's this difficult to pair a camera with an app. You will waste precious hours if not days of your life following their troubleshooting steps and it still won't work. I will never work with Nikon again.

  • Garbage - needs major update
    by 4geddubodit on 2017-04-03 at 7:19 PM

This app makes the camera practically unusable. Needs update.

  • 3 months and no iOS 10.2 compatibility
by Jsgriggs on 2017-03-31 at 7:05 PM

Seriously? You've now sold me a bricked product.

  • NOT compatible with iOS 10.2!
by Miyoji on 2017-03-31 at 5:48 PM

Apple released 10.2 in December of 2016. This app still does not work with it, over 3 months later. Nikon simply says the update will be announced. When? How long do we have to wait? I have use my Keymission 360 in airplane mode because Nikon's software won't connect with my iOS 10.2 device. Nikon needs to make this upgrade a priority.

  • Useless
    by 💠la💠 on 2017-03-29 at 5:43 PM

Might as well shoot blind - pairing is virtually impossible. I got it to connect 1 time in six months.

  • Great camera
    by Fritzy57 on 2017-03-09 at 1:10 AM

All I can say is I love the camera and hope Nikon replaces this App with a full featured plug and play App that's universally compatible.

  • Extremely frustrating
    by Pdc216 on 2017-02-21 at 6:33 PM

Not with even 1 star! This app does not work. Says it is paired but can not connect to transfer my pictures off the camera onto my iPad Pro. Everything is up to date. I updated the app after much frustration and it worked for all of 20 min, downloaded 15 of my 200 pictures and dropped connection and I haven't been able to get it to work since. I've gone over their trouble shooting as well as YouTube videos. Nothing works. I've spent hours on this. Complete crap!!!

  • Junk
by Hetlet on 2017-02-19 at 8:33 PM

Just like the others, I was very hopeful this would work. It's a great idea but it is not ready. I was able to connect with my iPhone but not with my ipad. Maybe they are working on a fix, but right now this is a worthless feature. JUNK....FIX IT!!

  • Terrible
    by Zigzag7264574 on 2017-02-16 at 8:54 PM

I tried snapbridge-- did not work. I tried this app and does not work! Wth?!! Nikon, fix this!!

  • Review for the app itself
    by Txmedic5 on 2017-02-16 at 7:46 PM

Earlier I gave a 5 star rating for pairing my phone to the app...it literally took about 10-15 seconds to do it. Getting the phone and the wi-fi set up with the camera was a bit trickier but in the end was also easy as pie. simply go to the camera icon on the bottom of the app screen then click settings, network settings, wifi, and you will see the password - default is like nikonkeymission or something. just change it to your own and click the little "options" button. Now as far as the app itself I can see where people find it underwhelming and that is true. Not a lot of bells and whistles but it does work and it's easy to navigate. I was able to take a picture pretty easy using just my phone. Like everything you need to explore the app and figure out where stuff is at. In other words have a little just a little patience. IT's not a "great" app but it's better than some of the others I have seen and since most of the major complaints are about pairing, once that's done you can simply get to having fun. I'll rate the camera quality specifically after I've played with it more and actually shoot video. So far I will say that I am thrilled with buying this camera and have no regrets so far. I rated the app 'good' over 'o.k.' because it really falls inbetween there.

  • Unpredictable and unstable
by !!!!nuts on 2017-02-12 at 7:28 PM

The attempt to update software in the camera failed so the camera would not function. Had to send it Nikon service to get fixed under warranty. Three weeks later returned and the camera now turns on and works. But connecting to the app is tedious, unpredictable, does not function as described, disconnects for no reason randomly when transferring pictures. Errors abound. A complete pain. Same issues on iphone 6+ and samsung 5, the samsung will not really connect at all.

  • Junk
by GMiddle on 2017-02-09 at 10:28 PM

It doesn't work. Period. After 3 calls to Nikon, very nice people, nothing works. Shame on Nikon for not being able to rectify this garbage!

  • Video director
by Scott the camera guy on 2017-02-09 at 12:57 PM

Camera has a ton of potential for the size and price but this app to control the camera is total trash. I'd give it a half star if I could. And Nikon reps need to quit writing BS positive reviews pretending this app is fine and users don't know how to connect. Should be spending their time fixing the app not the reviews.

  • Nikon may loose the market over this stupid SW!
by cosmiccath on 2017-02-07 at 2:32 AM

As virtually ALL of the other owners of a Nikon Keymission 360 have noted ... this SnapBridge sofware is utterl rubbish. It is SO BAD that no one can connect. It seems that, if you cannot get a connetion the FIRST TIME, whatever files it rwite out corrupt the install for any future connection, and only by deleting and reinstalling the software can you get it to pair successfuly again ... MAYBE? I've used iPhones to control every sort of devices, from motorized slider controllers and Canon cameras, to DJI quadcopters and GoPros. There is, hands down NO OTHER W-Fi camera control apps THIS BAD! Other actually work! Nikon has arguably the best twin-lense, one shot camera on the market, yet they cannot develop a simply app and Wi-Fi contrl software? Holy Crap? I've waited a couple months now for ANY sign that they're working out teh bugs, and NADA, not a peep out of Nikon. This is a shame, and a sham! They're going to loose a major share in what will certainly be a 360 revolution, to this lame mistake. Truly incredible to me, I am mystified? Someone at Nikon should be fired over this snafu!!! I think we may see a lot of used Nikon Keymisison 360 (paperweights) on the market soon, and Nikon's shares should tumble for this! What a freakin' rip-off!

  • NIKON - IS THIS A CRUEL JOKE?
by ourelectriclife on 2017-01-21 at 12:07 AM

This app has improved a BIT in updates - but it does not really matter because it never actually connects to your camera when you need it to.... both the bluetooth and wireless pairing is a joke. it is a bizzare and akward app that for all practical purouses just does not work. And dont even TRY to have mulitple cameras you want to use with it.... system overload.... ugh. this is an embarrasment nikon.

  • Try downloading the app from the Nikon website
    by pmb4me on 2017-01-16 at 11:28 PM

I had the same trouble others mentioned when I used the SnapBridge 360/170 app that I downloaded from the App Store. So frustrating! On the Nikon website there was a SnapBridge app without the "360/170" listing, and I downloaded that one. I was able to sync my camera and use the app. Try it!!

  • Read this sync problem easy to solve
by Buonoj on 2017-01-12 at 8:10 PM

Like many others I had a problem getting my 360 to sync with this app. But I took a different route I called the Nikon support like. And the charming lady explained that is the device was seen in Bluetooth setting that it will not sync. Just forget the device. Attempt to sync again. I did. It did and now works like a dream. Love the app and camera.

  • PLEASE FIX THE APP!
